  1. Robert Woods signed with the Rams to be their #1 WR.
  2. Probably zero. Maybe one.
  3. This is called asset management, it's one of the hallmarks of a competent front office. After watching our last half-dozen GMs, it's certainly a foreign concept to our fan base.
  4. I can't believe that forum name went unregistered until 2016.
  5. Yeah, the passing game was really firing on all cylinders the past 2 seasons.
  6. A tank is a deliberate attempt to lose. They are not deliberately trying to lose. Clearly a lot of people are emotional right now and do not understand this.
  7. Not happy he's gone but excited that we got good value for him instead of watching him leave for nothing. This must be a very confusing day for the crowd that believed Whaley was a genius.
  8. After today I am starting to.
  9. Here's some hard truths, you may need to put on the big boy pants for this - Again, it's not a tank. They are not deliberately trying to lose. Sammy was on the way out the day the option was declined. If you were one of the posters claiming this was a "prove it" year for him, you were only kidding yourself. The love-affair with Sammy around here is wayyy over the top, and mostly a product of the ridiculous amount of capital we invested in him via draft picks. Maybe one day he'll reach his potential, but so far he hasn't come close. You don't hand out big contracts based on potential. And no, he wasn't going to put up a monster year with our QB situation. He was likely going to play ~13 games and put up an ~800 yard season and then unceremoniously leave. Getting a 2nd round pick for him with 1-yr left on his deal is about right. Also, no, TT and Shady aren't getting traded. Why? Because it isn't a tank. Don't expect either of those players to be on the roster next year though.
  10. It's a solid move. Getting a (likely high) 2nd for Sammy in the last year of his contract is great value.
  11. No. The writing was on the wall for Sammy when we didn't pick up his option. You can't give injury-prone players big contracts. We finally have a GM that understands the value of draft picks. He's like the anti-Whaley. Andre Holmes and Vlad Ducasse should start packing their bags.
  12. Yup. Or after he signs a mega deal and gets hurt.
  13. He looked good for his 1st start, I was impressed. Very composed under pressure from some odd-man rushes. It looks like there is going to be a battle for #2. Of course, preseason QB play is the ultimate Kool-Aid. As a reminder I should dig up the archived thread from 2 years ago when a lot of people thought we had 3 possible starters on the team after the preseason (yes, people though Cassel and EJ were starting caliber).
  14. I wonder what fans expect him to say, "I'm just glad to be a part of an upcoming 8-8 season?" His quotes are standard FA lip service. Spending 14 years in the league doesn't just polish your route-running, it also makes you very savvy in front of the media. Don't get me wrong, I think this is a smart signing by our FO, but he was a FA in August - we weren't his #1 destination all along.
  15. This is my kind of contract - one that has no future cap hit. I don't expect much production from him, but I've always considered him to be one of the toughest players in the league, hopefully that rubs off on some guys.
  16. Pats front office = head of the class, Bills front office = "cue Benny Hill music" You're absolutely correct that it's still on the table, maybe the Benny Hill music finally stops.
  17. History shows that small, shifty running backs do not age gracefully, they tend to hit the wall abruptly. I wouldn't bet on him being here next year without a restructure, 30-yr old RB's that carry a $9M cap hit are not exactly a hot commodity.
  18. This franchise's track record for drafting QB's is really something to behold.
  19. Absolute nonsense. Your crusade against Murray is so over-the-top it's past the point of being comical.
  20. If OBJ made the same comment, I wonder how many posters would be defending him
  21. Just shup up, Sammy.
  22. http://edmontonjournal.com/sports/hockey/nhl/cult-of-hockey/benoit-pouliot-wears-out-his-welcome-with-edmonton-oilers-headed-for-buy-out
  23. Pommenville and Ennis are basically a wash. We're taking on another $1M in cap hit the next 2 years, but I actually think the guy who will be 35 next year has a better chance at staying healthy than the 27 year old Ennis. So a trade of Foligno for a 2nd pair D that's under a reasonable contract for the next 3 years is a pretty good deal. I guess the one red flag is that Scandella is coming off hip surgery, but it still seems like a safe bet. It's a lot easier to replace a physical grinding winger than it is to acquire a top 4 D.
  24. Yup. The Sabres have a young superstar player to build upon and use as a foundation. The BIlls do not.
