  1. Absolute delusion. Seriously.
  2. He's absolutely right. We've been trying to build a one-and-done playoff team for the past 4 years (and we can't even do that). The fact that so many fans regard "just making the playoffs" as some type of accomplishment is truly sad.
  3. I think you've missed the sarcasm. This team is far, far more talented than the likes of Colorado. I think anyone with a modicum of hockey IQ can see that. The fact that we can't beat inferior teams falls on Bylsma. Then again GMTM is the one that hired him, and appears to be standing by him.
  4. I wish we were as talented as Colorado or Arizona.
  5. His biggest whiff just might be the coach he hired.
  6. That looked like a team that checked out on its coach. 6 to 1 goal difference at even strength, at home yet. That was Risto's worst game as a pro, no doubt he's shot from getting 30 minutes of ice time for the first half of the season. Dropped 6 of the last 7 and they look more lost than ever after that Pittsburgh meltdown.
  7. No he can't, you clearly don't understand how the RFA system works. Based on that last sentence I'm pretty sure you're Luke from WGR...
  8. "tough to erase" yeah, right. The ~$60M he's going to get will cleanse that palate real quick.
  9. Eichel can't declare himself a UFA until he has played in the league for 7 years. This ain't the NFL and he ain't going anywhere.
  10. I think part of the problem is that the team is equally bad at scoring on shootouts, so Lehner has nothing to practice with to get better.
  11. Lehner is such a train-wreck on breakaways.
  12. Yeah, a few days ago I was laughing at the lines for the Nashville game when Bylsma started Reinhart on the 3rd line and still played him at wing. I read a stat on social media that he has 2 even-strength goals in the last 35 games or something.
  13. No doubt, I think everyone agrees about Lehner and the breakaways/shootouts. He's just a mess in those scenarios. But in no way was that first goal Lehner's fault. He was expecting Bogosian to take out his man, and instead Bogo decided to practice his ice dancing. Watch this video of the first goal https://www.nhl.com/video/pulkkinens-first-as-a-coyote/t-283376016/c-49899103 Now someone explain to me wtf Kulkov is doing. Goligoski clearly has possession of the puck, and yet Kulikov is pinching in? Gee, you think that will result in an odd-man rush? That has nothing to do with an injury or bad back, it's just stupidity. I do love the color commentary about Bogosian "picking flowers," that's spot-on.
  14. We dominated that game by almost every metric -- shots, shots attempted, Corsi, puck possession, etc, etc, yet with 6:00 minutes left the game is tied and seemingly headed to OT. Bizarre. Those 6 goals look nice in the box score but we scored 1 goal at even strength? 6 goals and the Kulikov/Bogo pairing is a -2
  15. Somebody lock the doors and pull down the shades.
  16. SpaceX has a high level of enthusiasm for public engagement. Good possibility for a 24hr live HD broadcast that includes communications and telemetry. Definitely looking forward to this.
  17. I think what irked me was the press conference. GMTM said he "had a lot of calls on Kulikov" but the deal didn't get done. Injuries obviously factored in, but it sounded like the bag of pucks deal was there. There's no better way to get Falk and Fedun ice-time then making the move now. Looking around the league though, it was a very quiet day. I'm 100% on board with a puck-possession style, but that dream took a huge hit when Julien went to Montreal. Down the road I think we are going to see that Bylsma was GMTM's biggest mistake. We're losing to the worst teams in the league (one is a tank-caliber team) -- we can't sit around and pretend it's just because our 2nd and 3rd-pair D are lousy.
  18. Not my point -- they are gone anyway, may as well get something for them. A bag of pucks is still better than an empty bag. According to GMTM, today was only a "speed bump" and he has a plan.... Heather Prusak‏t @haprusak 3h3 hours ago #Sabres GM Tim Murray: I have a plan...today was a small little speed bump. @WGRZ
  19. Heather Prusak‏Verified account @haprusak 31m31 minutes agoMore Tim Murray says injuries are no excuse but teams had concerns with Kulikov. @WGRZ Great, so now we're going to lose Kulikov and Franson (and probably Nilsson) at the end of the year and get absolutely nothing in return. Not good Tim, not good.
  20. I'm thinking conditional 4th rounder.
  21. If I was Terry, Id say "Sorry Jairus, my plantar fasciitis has spread to my hand, it's preventing me from signing any checks for you."
  22. The first 18 minutes were really good.
  23. You left out the best part, Samson is playing 3rd line wing. Haha wtf? Sabres just traded Catenacci for Bodie, a LHD. That probably means the boot for Kulikov.
  24. Welp, GMTM can get on the phones and sell Gionta, Kulikov, and Franson now.
