  1. No, you're right. There were many other, much worse plays. Basically the entirety of the first half.
  2. I honestly don't understand why the coach would be to blame for a lack of passing attack when the QB is constantly not throwing the ball on passing downs. I guess it's possible that the coaches could be responsible if their game plan is so conservative that they are celebrating Taylor on the sidelines for not risking it and throwing it away on multiple 3rd downs per game, but that feels like a stretch.
  3. Will that person's job be to teach Tyrod the importance of throwing the ball on passing plays? If so, I'm all for it.
  4. Pretty much this. A tie is only going to help us if we truly run the table, or both these teams go 2-3 and we go 4-1...it just seems like a lot to ask for.
  5. Wins is the first tie break...so if we were really trying to do something like run the tables, a tie is our best bet. If we finish with 10 or less, the tie could be insurmountable. AFC is ridiculously strong this year.
  6. A tie sounds bad for us initially, but... If they tie tonight and each team were to lose next week while we win, we would be only a half game back. From there on out, we would need to just win one more than either team to be ahead in the standings.
  7. I'm not completely convinced. John would have incorrectly inserted at least one seven period ellipses in there.
  8. Why do you say that? Do you always look for outliers to define your opinion?
  9. Slow week for ST, so Dan slips into the award, but... maybe this is the little confidence boost he needs? He seemed fired up in Seattle, and actually drained that kick before they backed him up 5 yards unnecessarily. He was really confident in his first season with us, and I'd like to see him finish out the year with a hot streak and remove any doubt at the position.
  10. Even though the post you quoted is from October 30th...I stand by it even more today. Tyrod has yet to hit a receiver in stride on a quick slant. Every week people show him being unwilling to launch it to our players in one on one situations. His play safe mentality is maddening at times, especially when the team is losing late in the game. EJ probably isn't the answer, and I never said he was. I simply said I preferred his style. I would have loved to see him develop and think with some confidence and two more years of playing time (the amount he's been sitting behind Tyrod) there is no way in hell we'd be worse at the QB position than we are now.
  11. Busby's West in Santa Monica is an awesome time. If you're even lightly considering going, I strongly recommend it. Traffic is pretty light on Sunday morning anyways so just suck it up and drive 20 miles or so to Busby's.
  12. Who would we be able to get, at a cheaper price that will be a more polished receiver than Woods? No one. If he's at all interested in sticking around, I would try to keep him.
  13. Browns are honing in on Tar Heels QB Mitch Trubisky in the 2017 NFL Drafthttp://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/browns-are-honing-in-on-tar-heels-qb-mitch-trubisky-in-the-2017-nfl-draft/
  14. Sure. Mostly it's not there though.
  15. How could I forget? You all remind us every chance you get. Once in a while he makes a play with his legs, yes, I understand that. Just like you, I root like crazy and go, "Can you believe he did that?!" And then he lets me down in the second half week in and week out, third down after third down.
  16. It's been a marginal benefit at best. It also goes both ways. He prematurely scrambles at will and did so on two third downs and didn't pick it up today. Throw the ball when you have time. What are you watching where you think Tyrod is scrambling all over the field picking up "many first downs"
  17. Thank you for organizing the excuses in bullet form, much appreciated.
  18. You realize there are 32 teams, right? Also...20 is debatable, and probably his absolute ceiling. Stats wise, I believe we're 28th in passing this season.
  19. There has been a vocal minority that thinks Wood is not exactly a world beater out there. Unless there's a penalty or a blatant blown coverage, I don't really know how to evaluate the position so I'm just happy to see that there was no drop off today.
  20. You know it's bad when you resort to a called-back touchdown as the highlight of the day.
  21. Who said that? Seriously, I've never seen or met a fan openly rooting against Taylor to do well.
  22. He was terrible. We definitely won in spite of Taylor today. He was a total joke in the red zone. Most of the time he scrambles out of a perfectly clean pocket. He literally tried to run for it on 3rd and 19. He is hard to watch in the second half when teams bring a little more pressure because he quits on plays if his first read is covered. I genuinely cannot believe there are people here pretending he's a good QB.
  23. I feel like we just did this...
