  1. A lot of that is because he plays it so safe. You have to take a few chances to take a game over. He's not going to do that, and it's limiting enough that we're a .500 team.
  2. Oh god, that was the worst game of the whole drought, wasn't it... I'm not arguing that Taylor isn't probably one of the better of the bunch -- I'm saying it IS CLOSE. He BELONGS in the same discussion as Bledsoe, Fitzpatrick, EJ, Losman, Edwards. He's not separated himself at all. I'm sick of seeing posts that say, "he's leagues better than anything we've had in years". Simply not true.
  3. You're right, they only need to make him pass to make him completely ineffective. I honestly don't know how you didn't type "Bledsoe" and then just stop and remember him actually passing the ball all over the place and go, "oh yeah, what am I talking about...let me delete this post I was so wrong" Seriously, I'll buy you a yacht if Taylor passes for 4,400 yards in a season.
  4. SO many misnomers. It amazes me how simple some of you can be. You can try all you want to separate Taylor from the pack of loser QB's we've had but he's the EXACT SAME. JP once lost to a Tom Brady Patriots team IN NEW ENGLAND 19-17, but he looked lost right? Nonsense. EJ couldn't improvise? What are you talking about? Trent Edwards couldn't improvise, I'll give you that, but no need to just make stuff up. If Taylor was so good, this wouldn't be a discussion. He's done little to separate himself from this pack.
  5. When we lose in Seattle on Monday and Tyrod loses three straight, there will be an excuse, right? It's different this time, because reasons! There is little to no drop off. You're projecting. Fans hate Manuel because of where he was drafted. I wish Tyrod showed one ounce of EJ's want in the second half of that Jaguars game.
  6. Such hyperbole crap. Why don't you actually look at his last three starts and come back to me with his yards, TDs, and INTs?
  7. This is all nonsense. We're 4-4. No reason to think we'd have a worse record with EJ or most team's backups playing. We beat a bunch of crap teams, and won games with opportunistic defense and a strong running game. YOU dont watch the games if you actually think Tyrod is going to magically develop into anything other than what he has shown.
  8. don't click that link, it will open up a video that will corrupt your computer eyes.
  9. damn those streets in hemet are not to be messed with sorry for your loss.
  10. No way. The margin is way smaller than you think. Accuracy is a wash, deep balls are similar, TT is a better scrambler, but EJ will stay in the pocket long enough for plays to develop. The biggest difference is EJ is better at leading receivers and Taylor is better at ball security. I've seen enough of Taylor to know that he absolutely cannot be counted on late in games, and I think EJ is a gamer. Of course, at his best Taylor is a little betteroverall, but again, it's a smaller margin than you're making it out to be. Taylor is another one of these QB's, he doesn't stand out that much to me in this playoff-less era. Right now, he's hit a ceiling and I have no faith he can improve. That alone makes me want to see someone else back there.
  11. I've never seen a QB get so many excuses in my life.
  12. That's cute and all, but sometimes you're down in the game, even using your run run run style. It's not always 41 points that we need, but this guy is hopeless when we need just 4. lol, what? he did?
  13. He's regressing. Part of the problem with this franchise is we don't understand the importance in developing players. We've never properly groomed a QB. If Taylor is only marginally better than EJ, then you play your younger QB that has the chance to progress. Taylor hit his ceiling the first game he started for us. Marrone set the franchise backwards starting a retired QB. It's simply not how you build for the future. Taylor was a stop-gap, but we didn't need that. We needed to groom a QB. After this year, EJ walks, we don't keep Taylor and we've got a really really green project QB. In other words, we're back at square one. It's really sad how poorly our front office has handled the position.
  14. I honestly prefer EJ as a passer. I won't argue that he's more accurate in general, but EJ undoubtedly leads his targets better in the middle of the field. I never thought of that as such a skill to long for, but it always feels like Taylor needs his receivers to be standing still facing him with their hands ready for the pass.
  15. Sure, there are other (most) games to look back on.
  16. No way. Not the guy. He can win you games when the defense executes and we run the ball well. As a passer he's overrated.
  17. video of the hit: https://twitter.com/WillBrinson/status/792837890308911105
  18. So many excuses.
  19. Well said.
  20. Their game plan was to neutralize Brady, and they executed it perfectly. Of course we still lost. Not sure why that would give you hope.
  21. In the short term he failed us last season in late games (KC, PHI, NE - to name a few) and this season (BAL, MIA). To pretend that he's not been given the opportunity to fail would tell me that you've not seen many fourth quarters since he's been our QB. If you mean in the long term he hasn't been given the opportunity to fail, then I don't see how that's any different than yanking a second year QB with a 2-2 record.
  22. I'd like to think we're all experts at watching non-playoff teams. Perhaps the Taylor dissent is hitting close to home because you realize that it means we're recognizing yet another disappointment is on the horizon.
