Bills elevate WR Ed Eagan to active roster

See, I told you guys Whaley had a solid contingency plan... -
Not sure what the bit about Trump even means, but let me remind you that the Bills are 4-28 in our last 32 games vs the Patriots.

Gilmore and Darby have been awful this year
fridge replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our DB's do their job well when we get pressure. The Dolphins were running well yesterday and it made it more difficult to rush the passer. It's a vicious cycle, but I think the game was lost in the trenches on Sunday, not in the air. The Jets game is maybe the only time in the last 10+ games where you can blame the secondary. I will say that Gilmore's worst skill is tracking the ball in air, and that's probably the most frustrating thing to see an athlete screw up over and over. -
Tyord has a backwards risk/reward mentality. He's all about playing it safe, even when it's illogical to. When it's time to air it out, he has to know that risks are now worth taking. He doesn't see the reward in the risk taking as much when the game is on the line. I had thought that he figured it out in Kansas City last year, and he seemed to be taking shots all over the field...but then we got down in the second half and he crumbled. That's when I first lost faith in him. Then I believe it was the Eagles game where I knew we had seen his ceiling, and now we're just playing out the clock with this guy. If our run game is going and the defense is playing opportunistic, Taylor will lead you to a four game winning streak. If either the run game is stifled or the defense play poorly, kiss it goodbye. He's the QB with the most built-in excuses throughout the drought. He two hopped a ball in the flat to Felton in the third qtr (may have been the fourth, I can't remember) and if it was EJ throwing it you'd see an animated gif on the front page. I've seen enough of Tyrod falsely sense pressure and give up on his progressions on third downs.

...and you're a ray of sunshine. Seriously though, you're incredibly delusional if you think fans are more of a problem in a team winning or losing than a QB on the field. I'm sick of the "eternal optimist" Bills fan that acts holier than thou. It's just as bad as the blatant negativity and serves as nothing more than annoying hypocrisy. If you think Tyrod Taylor is above criticism, great - you're entitled to that opinion. I'm also entitled to disagree.

Should Landry Get Suspended? Update: Fined 24k

Was Tom Brady running with the football? You realize they are totally different plays, right? -
Should Landry Get Suspended? Update: Fined 24k

Sadly, as others have said, it's unlikely the league will really do anything here. If our team sent a message it would have been a motivating factor because they would be avenging their teammate and brother. I doubt it will happen, but the Bills should make Landry fear going out on the field when they come to Buffalo later in the year. -
Marquise Goodwin and Aaron William Update Thread

On the topic of no retaliation from our players...do you think anyone on our roster will remember this when we have our second meeting in Buffalo? -

On what planet did he excel on the final drive? Most of our first downs were from penalties... -

Should Landry Get Suspended? Update: Fined 24k

Really? In the moment? He lined up in the slot and sprinted right at Williams, taking a shot at his head (which he had to leap to hit). Not only was Aaron defenseless, but Landey had plenty of time to consider how to block him. I thought it was one of the dirtiest things I'd seen in a long time. -
He pretty blatantly went for Williams' head. He took a cheap shot at a guy with a history of a neck injury. If the league really wants to act like they care, that crap has to be eliminated. I was sort of disappointed to see such a little retaliation from our team. Update: No fine yet for Landry. Players typically are informed on the Thursday following games if they will be suspended or fined. According to this PFT article, a fine is still possible because the Dolphins are in a bye week. Update 2: Ian Rapoport is reporting via twitter that Landry was fined 24k on Tuesday. Here's the tweet: @RapSheet Sources: #Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry was fined $24,309 for an illegal crackback -- his hit on #Bills S Aaron Williams. Letter sent on Tuesday

4 of our starting WR's and starting RB injured

Because blaming Tyrod is, by extension, also (preemptively) blaming the whole FO if they pick up his contract next year and have him play again. We're 4-3 so it's not going to spread around too much, but when we are 4-5 and are exposed for the thin team that we are it will become "fire whaley" time all over again. I like Whaley, but that's just inevitable. When Shady isn't healthy this team has no offense. Blame whoever you want, because that's the reality right now. -
Taylor will get a pass though. We like him because we didn't draft him in the first round when our little booklet said he was supposed to go in the third.
-
I'm sorry...did he not roll the ball to Felton, or overthrow Hunter, or underthrow Goodwin (right into a safety) in the second half? Your team will not get 5 turnovers every game and we sure as hell aren't gonna get 300 rush yards each week. This is what happens when you need to rely on Taylor to win a game.
-
We watched different games. Tyrod had time. Most third downs he panicked because his fordt read was still covered and he didn't think he had time to go through his progressions. When the game is on the line it's hard to watch Taylor at work.

4 of our starting WR's and starting RB injured

It's always weird during the 16 year stretch when the optimists act like they are the sane ones... Dropping an 11 point lead on the road in your division against a team you had no business losing to is not a time for roses and songs. We will almost certainly lose to NE, and probably will lose 3 straight. I'll be curious how checked your optimism will be when your team is 4-5. He's actually really good at that. Might be his best attribute overall. -
It's weird because of his skill set, you'd think Taylor could really thrive when the game gets chaotic, but there's something inherently unclutch about him.

Shhhh. Stop with the facts! Taylor scrambles. We love scrambling QB's. Isn't this fun??? -
If we don't have an unbelievable game on defense or if we don't rush for 200 yards we have no chance. That's not meant to be an insult to Taylor...there are only a handful of QB's you can count on to really take a game over, but man Taylor is not capable of coming from behind.

OP is easily my favorite poster since crayonz

Well said. He doesn't have a good come-from-behind record at all.

Time management, end of 2Q yesterday...discuss...
fridge replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I won't argue the bold. It was a god win. It's hard to criticize the game. I was in the stands and I thought the first half offense was great. I am just having a hard time getting past the fact that we had a brutal stretch in the third quarter that was only saved by Keenum's terrible decision on the out route. I think the team is playing opportunistic right now. It's good, but a +9 turnover differential seems lofty to maintain. We shall see... -
It also means that he's thrown for less than 200 yards in over 50% of his starts. It's a weird stat for sure, but I'd like to think a winning formula is probably a little more balanced than throwing for <200 every game.
