No, we took the kicker off the field per the ref's fourth timeout call and spiked the ball. After the spike the playclock reset to :25 and they put in the K ball and took their time doing it.

He willed the team to get the ball back and have a chance to win the game. You have to love that effort. It was my favorite play of the game.

Tyrod Taylor played better than expected tonight...
fridge replied to fridge's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess I just really can't stand this excuse narrative. The defense didn't do great, but they got us the ball back when it mattered most. This has happened a few times this year. Tyrod picked up an incredible first down on the pass to Woods to extend the game-on-the-line drive, but then he really didn't do what we needed to pull through. You can sit there and type million and one excuses, trust me, this game had them. I agree all day about the refs, and the defense, etc. but at the end of the day he had first and goal with a chance to WIN THE GAME. What is it going to take for you guys to realize how important it is for your QB to win that game? I'm not saying it wasn't a difficult situation. I'm not saying it wasn't a crazy game. I'm simply saying that he could have put all of that crap on his back and rode the team to victory but he fell short. -

1. Enough with the name calling just because someone disagrees with you. That's how life goes. If you can't thicken your skin, I suggest you refrain from the message boards. 2. I certainly did not say that it would be a low-scoring game, and I am ROOTING FOR MY TEAM to win. This includes rooting for Tyrod Taylor. 3. This is the perfect time to discuss this. The game ended, it's my immediate takeaway. 4. On what planet can a QB have the game on the line, miss a throw, and not be judged? -

That's great and all...but I'd like my quarterback's best 2 minute drive to result in a score, y'know? And next time? How many next times does he need? -
Tyrod Taylor played better than expected tonight...

Yeah it's a simile, I don't think rappers use those. Listen, I fully expect the excuses to fly wild. The problem is that I think Tyrod actually played his best game, but he didn't play a complete game. I don't think he cost us the game or anything like that. Again, all the million excuses aside, he had the ball with the game on the line 3rd and goal, 4th and goal. I just wanted to see the finish, is that too much to ask? It feels like it is with you guys lately. -

I agree with most of this. How you finish games is absolutely crucial and I refuse to overlook the end of this game no matter how bizarre the rest of it played out. -

Tyrod Taylor played better than expected tonight...

Sure...doesn't negate the fact that he had the ball in his hand with a chance to overcome everything and fell short. I think Tyrod played unbelievable today. Like I said, easily his best game as a Bill. I really wish he could have finished it the way champions do. -

No doubt. It was easily his best game as a Bill. I wish he could have found a way to get it done at the end. -
Thank you for this.

Week 9 predictions: Bills at Seahawks on MNF
fridge replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In 31 career games, M. Goodwin has exactly one game with 100+ yards. -
Well said OP. This drought is Groundhog's Day. I'd like to think things will turn around when Brady retires, and hopefully we have a competent coach by that point. Our franchise has done nothing to convince me they could ever compete for the division with Brady around, and if you can't even compete for the division, what's the point?

WEEK 8 - ALL 22 OLINE/ QB UNFORCED ERROR REVIEW
fridge replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let me just remind everyone that this guy is a biased fan just like all of us. His standards for a QB unforced error and sufficient line protection are not only subjective, but they have an inherit bias. I appreciate (I really do) the effort that you make, but it's clear that your interest in stats has confused you into listing arbitrary variables as facts. -
Last question in Rex press conference yesterday
fridge replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh it's shockingly easy to do, but they can't figure it out/are under staffed. They used to have someone go in and manually increase the volume when the reporter had a question, which is insane. When it would cut to a question the audio was like 60% loud noise that would break your ear drum and 40% reporter sounding like they're shouting. -
Everyone is picking us to lose all these games, but win those last three. You really think that we're going to go on a 1-6 stretch and bounce back with a 3 game winning streak? I got news for you... If we're 5-8 going into those final three games, no way in hell we're coming out 8-8 with a three game winning streak.

11-1: Whaley Talks Harvin and Aaron Williams on the JMS

Can someone explain to me how Overdorf made this deal? He suggested it AND called his agent and made the deal? -
So you think shotgun three times in a row from the 6 yard-line with a throw away, a scramble, and an overthrow to Reggie Bush is the right move there? Going to use excuses even though we had Gillislee, Hunter, and Clay in the lineup? Come on man, quit making a million excuses each year that we've been missing the playoffs, you look ridiculous and the team keeps proving you wrong.

The point is that we'll completely out-think ourselves and misuse him like ALL OF OUR WEAPONS. It's silly for anyone to think we'll be airing it out like crazy now that a post-retirement Harvin is on the team. We've had Goodwin on the team for how many years? We've probably taken what...six shots down field to him? It's a joke, a farce, a shell of a strategy. We typically get players and use them as decoys. We refuse to play to our players' strengths regardless of who is coaching. It's unbelievable that people on this board can pine for players like Alshon Jeffery and actually assume we would use them correctly. Case in point...we started the NE game and marched all the way downfield and had a 1st and goal from the 6. Did we pound it with our great run game? No. Did we toss it to our tall receiver Justin Hunter or our athletic tight end? No. We out thought ourselves. I don't even know what we did: 1-6-NE 6(12:00) (Shotgun) 5-T.Taylor pass incomplete short left [54-D.Hightower]. Thrown away under pressure. Timeout #1 by BUF at 11:51. 2-6-NE 6(11:51) (Shotgun) 5-T.Taylor up the middle to NE 5 for 1 yard (95-C.Long). 3-5-NE 5(11:15) (Shotgun) 5-T.Taylor pass incomplete short left to 22-R.Bush. Overthrown, receiver 2 yds. into end zone. 4-5-NE 5(11:07) 2-D.Carpenter 23 yard field goal is GOOD, Center-65-G.Sanborn, Holder-6-C.Schmidt. Again, it's unreal that you guys think someday they'll figure this stuff out.

That has to be a joke, right?
