  1. I know it's the Bills and Browns, and I'm not one to complain about a lack of coverage when the team has been so bad for so long, but I watched the NFL network for highlights for 30 minutes--mind you, they just focus on the NFL--and not one mention of the game. Poor strategy. Football fans don't want to hear the same old story lines over and over and over and over. Having said that, we start winning games against elite teams, and we'll get that coverage.
  2. Pats are 1-2 fellas. Wild game.
  3. Worst head coach, and worst Bills era, we ever had in my football watching lifetime. Lifeless. I felt the energy of this squad liven up the first week he was replaced. Nothing against him personally, but when I think of Juaron, I think of 6-3 ball games, bend-but-don't-break defenses that give up a gazillion yards but no big plays, boring offenses that don't make any big plays, the king of lifeless quarterbacks, Trent Edwards, and, as Peter Pan guy once pointed out, Member's Only jackets.
  4. Clearly, you don't have your Dick Jauron secret decoder ring.
  5. Evidence is pointing to a ban.
  6. Crayonz is banned? And Jimmy Spags? Still love TBD. But this is a duller board this year. No humor. There are way too many rules in real life, there shouldn't be on a freakin message board. Good grief if that's true. As for Favre, he would probably still be playing, and retiring, if it weren't for that epic bounty beatdown he took at the NFC championship a few years ago. Guy is as tough as nails.
  7. Browns games always scare me. Still can't the 2009, 6-3 win by the Browns out of my head. You know the game in which their QB completed only two throws and STILL beat us. If the past three or so games serves as anything, I expect a low-scoring FG-driven game. Bills 19 Browns 12.
  8. Throwing or completing? Don't buy it for one second if the latter.
  9. This team is not built for the power run game, which you need to be a run first team. Spiller can't take too many carries. Jackson is out. Who are we left with? Choice? The Bills run extremely efficiently--tops in the league two years running at yards per carry. I think our current strategy is just fine. Fitz just needs to execute, as well as the D.
  10. As someone who liked Fitz last year, and was optimistic about his chances of being a franchise QB, he actually looks worse this year than last. Not only are his short balls, thrown to fairly open receivers, while under minimal duress, inaccurate, he doesn't seem remotely capable of throwing it deep. On the bright side, the rest of the Bills kicked ass on all fronts of the game yesterday.
  11. C'mon. Aikman was nearing the end of his career. The owner actually said firing Gailey was one of his worst mistakes. And this is a passing league. Besides, how many more yards than 169 do you want to see? All in all, it's not the end of the story.
  12. Not looking good. FJ is out. While the national media is saying the Bills won't miss him, that couldn't be further from the truth. He's the heart, the centerpiece, of this offense. Also, losing our No. 2 WR is going to hurt, especially when we were already lacking a true No. 2 and were already thin. Defense will take time to gel. Secondary won't fix problems in one week. As a result, I don't expect too much out of our D line until that happens. KC's balanced attack will be more advantageous than homefield. Chefs: 26 Bills: 21 Bills will find their groove next week vs. the stinky Browns.
  13. "So we're not supposed to play loose and passive? Now they tell us." -Gilmore, McKelvin, Williams, Byrd and Wilson.
  14. Cutler was running for his life on every play. An average QB would have had 5 INTs and a 10 passer rating.
  15. Both sides need to calm down. There is no way this D line isn't going to be dominant. I mean, c'mon--Williams (pro bowl), Williams (pro bowl), Dareus (future pro bowl) and Anderson (10 sacks last year). AND...Fitz can control his INTs. We also have a great O line (0 sacks) and run game. BUT...this pass coverage...I don't know if it can improve so drastically. And the defensive play calling / game planning simply needs to get better. Also, the deep pass is lacking. One game. Sky not falling. We're not a juggernaut. Yada yada yada. This team will be competing for a playoff spot, but will struggle--perhaps, at times, mightily--along the way.
  16. Our run D was average. 3.3 yards per carry. 118 yards total. I'll give it to you the caliber of QBs we face, with exception to Tom Brady, twice, of course. This is no blessing. Horrible pass coverage, average run D, average pass rush. That's a below-average unit all in all. Let's hope it's short lived.
  17. SJ took out a KC defender for an entire year last season. He better watch himself out there. Please, please no more injuries.
  18. I believe I can fly. I believe I can touch the sky.
  19. Must say that this game, which we all were wildly anticipating, made me feel like I did after watching Star Wars Episode One. I waited six months / 16 years for this crap? Don't know who was Jar Jar Binks--Fitzpatrick or Wannstache. I'm leanin Wannstache. Some random thoughts: D line. Step back from the ledge fans, I find it hard to believe this D line won't gel. Didn't seem like they got much penetration, but Sanchez was throwing super quick. How can you sack a guy who gets rid of the ball in one second, unless you blitz? This D line is going to be dominant...soon. I think this was more being outcoached than being outmuscled. Plus, it appears the Jets' O line was playing dirtier than normal, and that the replacement refs didn't notice. Wannstache 1. A 10 year old could have figured out we should've blitzed Sanchez. He can pick a defense apart if you give him time. Why our D coordinator didn't dial up any blitzes is staggering. Secondary. They sucked. All of them. Got burned repeatedly by non-caliber receivers. Our secondary is my biggest worry right now. Jets defenders stuck to our receivers like Spandex. Our defenders--WTF? Run D. Linebackers and D line did OK (acceptable but not good) stopping the run. They swarmed the runner, made decent tackles, and somewhat limited the ground and pound to 3.3 yards per rush. Wannstache 2. He didn't have these corners prepared. They looked awful. All in all, horrible play calling on his part and lackluster play by the DBs. Run game. CJ was brilliant, even with the fumble. Had twice the YPC as the Jets. Great blocking, great running. Sad to see Freddie out several weeks so quickly. O line. Like I said, opened up holes, protected the QB. What more can you ask for? Fitz 1. Some TBD netizen said his mechanics were the same. I disagree. His mechanics were worse, IMO. Don't know about planting and footwork, but his throwing motion looked like he was chucking a shotput--more so than normal. Fitz 2. I believe he'll bounce back. He was solid in the first half of last season. He was out of rhythm, overthrew one INT, made a bad decision on another, and mishit a receiver on a timing play who supposedly ran the wrong route. I'm not willing to give up on him yet. But yeah, he stank it up. I'll give him two more weeks before I throw in the Fitz towel. Receivers. None could get separation. Enough said. Receivers 2. Think Gailey is wondering why he only kept 5 receivers? Sure hope TJ Graham is ready. Still blows my mind how thin we are at WR. Best play. CJ's 50 yard run right before the half. Second best play. Chandler taking out Rex! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ETfpxmNd6kY Overall positive feelings. We would've won if we hadn't turned it over four times. We outgained them in nearly every offensive stat: total yards, yards per play, yards per rush and red zone efficiency. We'll get this D line pushing people back. Fitz will get in tune with his receivers, and improve his mechanics. Receivers found separation last season, they will this one. Overall negative feelings. Seems as if we might still be lacking a shutdown corner, even with our first round pick. I worry that Wannstache / Gailey are too set on not blitzing. You're not going to put enough heat on QBs with just four, even with the studs we have. After watching elite receivers like Brendan Marshall on the other screen out-muscle defenders, it's clear we still seriously lack top WR talent. Fitz seems like he will never be able to throw it deep. All in all, they had six months to prepare for this mediocre Jets offense. Still can't believe the D was so carved up yesterday.
  20. Fitzcraptick. Shitspatrick. Fitzwhacktrick. Fitzflatprick. I hope I can start calling him Fitzmagic once again.
  21. Let's hope it's a 1st degree sprain. - In 1st degree sprains, sport activities should be stopped for 3 weeks. - A 2nd degree sprain takes 6-8 weeks of rehabilitation under the supervision of a physiotherapist. http://www.footballr...com/lclknee.htm
  22. Hardly defending this awful performance, but it's hard to sack a dude who, like Fitz last year, got rid of the ball in a second. As for D, it wasn't the line that sucked, it was the secondary. Gilmore got rocked. Their O coordinator simply outwitted Wanstache.
  23. His mechanics looked worse this game than last season. He was throwing the rock like a shotput. He and David Lee have a lot of work to do this week.
  24. Well if it's a he madame, that would explain why 49 of them were rude.
