Gameday Thread Week 6 2nd Half Bills vs Chiefs
Livinginthepast replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even a immobile Marcel Dareus would at least take up some space in that defensive line. The gaps are huge. what is going on? -

Gameday Thread Week 6 2nd Half Bills vs Chiefs

I wish the Bills had run a fake on that FG at the end of the half. It would have been so unexpected it might have worked. Bass chokes on that FG in an empty stadium. How in the hell is this guy going to make a pressure kick away from home in a full stadium? -

A sack????? OMG -
Pats looked pretty awful today. I'm not sure if this is normal for him but Cam Newton had some of the worst blind side pressure awareness Ive seen in a long time. He gave up a couple of sacks and a fumble today after taking a few massive hits. There was one huge one from the blind side I think in the first half that resembled hits from the old NFL of the 70s. Its no wonder the guy was injured constantly in the last couple of years. Great to see the Pats looking bad. It is so deserved. One of the greatest misfortunes in sports history has been the Bills sharing a division with the Pats dynasty. No other team in any sport ever has had to put up with the constant winning, cheating, luck and smarminess of the Pats like we have in Buffalo. Its about time that ends. For at least a decade or more!!

Last Night was 1991 week 6 in KC Revisited
Livinginthepast replied to Lenigmusx's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember that KC game and the thanksgiving massacre in Detroit in 1994 as being the worst non playoff national games that the SB teams played in. Last night was a mild flashback to those games. The big difference for me though is that those games were much more of a shock because the SB Bills teams were so stacked with talent. The KC game especially was a shocking comprehensive beat down of one the best teams in NFL history. We are getting very deluded if we think the current squad is anywhere near the talent of the SB years. -
Is it time to admit Ryan Tannehill is pretty good?
Livinginthepast replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He wasnt touched by us except on the roughing the passer call. That was also coincidentally his worst throw of the night. He had all kinds of time to throw against a poor pass rush and slow and easily fooled defensive secondary riddled with injuries. He has done well since he got to Tennessee but lets not go overboard here. We made it as easy as possible for him to look like he was HOF last night! -
Seriously though, what's up with these referees?
Livinginthepast replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The call on the Tannehill play should have been an illegal forward pass. It looked illegal because it clearly was even on the field. The refs should have erred on the side of caution and flagged it. At that point it really didnt matter, Tenneseee was going to get a FG and least be up by 38-16. What I found most peculiar is they usually give that kind of generous iffy pity call to the team thats GETTING BLOWN OUT not the team thats up by 19!! None of this talk about refs matters anyway. They are always going to get worse. The quality of officiating has deteriorated since the league expanded in the 90s. And even with all the video evidence in HD,FFS! they still cannot see what is clearly in front of them. The only solution that might help is giving the coaches one challenge per game on any bad call. That way something egregious can possibly be overturned. But judging from the phantom INT in the Rams game, a sober second look by those idiots in NYC doesnt change anything! -
Weak, soft or just overmatched?
Livinginthepast replied to Toledo Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All the Titans players seemed to have some major chip on their shoulder. Their were a lot of borderline dirty plays and a lot of disrespect going on after the whistle. They also followed through on a lot of tackles with some extra unnecessary force. I have no problem with any of that but I do have a problem with the Bills just taking it and playing wimpy. When a team disrespects you like that, then focus and beat them on the field. I get that the Bills dont want to be thugs but doing nothing? was inexcusable. -
Vrabel will be the new Belichick
Livinginthepast replied to Southern Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree the smug D baggery after the win was obnoxious. That classless final TD at the end was pure BB. It was shades of BB crushing Jauron's Bills on Sunday night football years ago. But Vrabel is far stupider than BB and will never have his success and Tannehill is no Brady. The clock has to strike 12 on him at some point and he will revert to the QB we all knew and loved! -
Weak, soft or just overmatched?

1. Agree, Allen looked a little bit off. Im not sure though if this was in reaction to all the drops and that terrible Roberts INT that was not Josh's fault. The INT in the 3rd was one of the worst throws of Josh's career. Before it got out of hand Daboll needed to switch things up. The pressure is too much when Josh is asked to play Hero ball and the rest of the team is mailing it in. 2. I hope so too. It seems once or twice a year in the last few years, the Bills have come up against a team that has studied them superbly and that the Bills have taken lightly. Philly, New Orleans or last night are great examples. That is 100% on the coaches for not preparing the players on a game plan. Not using a sports psychology, not even getting them hyped up or calming them down appropriately. Just inexcusably bad preparation. 3. I was wondering the same question. Bills played like the Titans were slathered in Covid 19. Too many half hearted tackles and missed ones. I cant help but think it played a role in their tentative and wimpy mentality last night. 4/5 They are really missing a defensive leader. Hughes and Norman were angry at some of the calls last night against them (some were iffy) but aside from that, nobody on the Bills defense seemed to be into this game. See the previous point. Oliver has been MIA. Totally mystifying. 6. I reversed the DVR 2X to see where the line of scrimmage was on that Tannehill pass. His front foot was at least a yard beyond the line of scrimmage, when he cocked his arm to throw the ball it was past the line of scrimmage. The Bills defenders immediately knew that he was past and complained. But I guess the refs felt really sorry for the Titans with all the pain and anguish of all the Covid 19 this week so they gave them the dbag TD pass to rub it in. The Bills should have at least shown some pride and got angry at that petty humiliation but at that point they were too far gone to care! -
Just sign him already. But sign some defensive talent as well. Depth is something we need as much of as we can have.

Best just to forget everything about this game from the Titans covid fiesta, the postponement, the NFL making up some BS (Titans not at fault) explanation and then the Bills literally giving the Titans the game. I am very concerned going forward with this defense. They are beaten up and dont look like they have much self belief. They got ripped apart today by the mediocre talent of Ryan Tannehill and at many times in the game looked utterly lost for what to do. I know football is not basketball, where a time out can settle everything down but Frazier and McD have to do something different in these games where the defense is getting manhandled. It happened in the LA game and happened throughout tonight's game. They have to be able to mix things up and dial in something new on defense when things arent working. As for the talent that we have to work with, its looking pretty grim, . We need to hit the FA market and get somebody who can 1. Sack the QB, 2. spy the QB so he doesnt run for 50 yards, 3. knows what an INT is? and/or and maybe most importantly shows some leadership when the chips are down and raises other peoples games up. Right now we seem to lacking in a 4 of those areas!
-
He's been great so far this year on the kick returns and some offensive plays. But today he was horrendous except for one nice grab. It was as if everybody was off tonight but some more than others!

Week 6: Chiefs at Bills (+5): Monday 5pm on Fox

This is going to be a score on every possession or lose type of game. We just need the defense to step up and make one big play. -
Falcons fire HC Dan Quinn and GM Thomas Dimitroff
Livinginthepast replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Quinn's career with the Falcons and possibly as a HC was done the second the Pats scored in the OT of the SB to cap that comeback. Some losses are flukey, but that loss after being up 28-3 was unforgivable. One of the worst chokes in sports history. -
Stephon Gimore tests positive for Covid
Livinginthepast replied to boco357's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I get that it must be insanely hard for these players not to hug and shake hands or maybe pray after the game, that's been the tradition forever, but seriously this is pandemic and talking within a foot of someone else's mouth without a mask on is just plain stupid. The Gilmore pic with Mahomes is nuts. Did the league not come out ahead of this before the season and warn the players that this is high risk behavior? Probably even worse than tackling somebody? The players on each team should forego the usual post game pleasantries and go directly to the locker room. Yes its a bit rude and unsporting but its safe. I know that some of these NFL players are not the sharpest knives in the drawer but cmon. You want to risk your health, your career even potentially your life to say hi to one of your opponents? Its just not worth it right now!
