On the bright side, DiMarco's poorly timed jump was able to throw off the sightline for both of those defenders and inadvertently prevent an easy interception on what was a pop fly!

The Bills problem for 20 years now is that we don't do enough on offense to beat our opponents and the inevitable bad officiating. I don't believe the refs are in a conspiracy against us but their incompetence is the norm in this league. On Saturday their ineptness was one of the key factors in our defeat. The weird call reversal on the kickoff TD, the tickety tack blindside call on Ford, the many missed calls on the Texans, they all made a Texans victory much more likely.

Ford made that block just like he probably has since little league football and he would probably do it again. why? because it was a legal clean block. The official who made the call invented a foul on that play and just like the pow wow after the kickoff non TD, the refs should have conferred and overturned it. The imbecile who threatened Ford on the internet should be saving his hate for the ref in question or the NFL and its poorly thought out and applied rules .

2019 Re-Draft: Cody Ford vs DK Metcalf
Livinginthepast replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he catches it but its not easy, Metcalf's elite, he makes the tough catches look routine . Duke is a good 3rd WR. But Duke didn't drop that endzone pass. He should have caught that pass. Perhaps if he had 16 regular season games and first team reps to get more accustomed to Josh, he does, but the Braniacs in charge of offense made sure that didn't happen and bizarrely threw him in the deep end for a playoff game. -
2019 Re-Draft: Cody Ford vs DK Metcalf

When was the last time that we lucked into a game changing player like Metcalf without doing anything in the draft? I'm seriously trying to think of anyone. Maybe Fred Jackson in a minor way? -
NFC Playoff Games: Vikes at Saints 1:05 pm
Livinginthepast replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What Minny and Cousins did in OT is what we should have done last night. They went for it balls out and killed the Saints right there. Instead in our most important offensive series of the year, Daboll calls some mystifying plays that failed completely and we go out with a whimper. -
2019 Re-Draft: Cody Ford vs DK Metcalf

Metcalf was an absolute beast tonight. I hate it that the Seahawks got him. -
Duke today, did the bad outweigh the good?
Livinginthepast replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You literally quote me as saying "The endzone pass was a difficult one and I think he should have caught it." and then repeat what I said as if you are adding something new. According to your logic every pass should be caught, no matter the velocity, no matter the coverage, no matter the placement and like most of the Duke haters on this site you somehow expect a guy who played 5 games all season and was on the practice squad to make this catch no problem. If you think that was an easy or routine catch, you know nothing about football. -
Duke Williams played more snaps than Cole Beasley
Livinginthepast replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ok Sure, routine catch. Would Brown have caught it? or even Hopkins? Not with the DB going through them. Maybe TO in his prime. but is not a routine catch whatsoever. No it wasn't a jump ball pass (nor should it have been) that's what the other guy described it as. It wasn't a bad throw by Josh at all. It was a great throw and it had to be a fastball to get it there. I agree with everything you said in your 2nd to 4th sentence But saying that that 4th stringers make that catch with ease is lunacy. -

But you did say "jumpball" which is about as far away from reality as possible on that play. -
Duke Williams played more snaps than Cole Beasley
Livinginthepast replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The throw was in the right place for only Duke to catch it but it wasn't a perfect throw by any means, he should have caught it but in no way it was a jumpball pass. So yes blind or high or completely mistaken . It wasn't an easy catch because the defender leaves his feet and comes across Duke's body. Duke is also at full stretch and twisting. Watch the replay in slow mo if you cant get this point, or just keep up the hate for Duke because he's the only reason they lost the game right? -
Zero in-play penalties called on Houston
Livinginthepast replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They can fix it easily by having their officials in the booth overrule really bad calls or give the coaches the ability to challenge any penalty (at least once) in the game. Or they could do what they did yesterday and have those black shirted mystery officials talk to the official on the field out of the call and make him an offer he cannot refuse. -
Duke Williams played more snaps than Cole Beasley
Livinginthepast replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is absolutely no way in hell that was a "Jump Ball" pass. The play to DiMarco was a Jump Ball. The play to Duke in the endzone was a fastball. Difficult catch but he should have caught it. And why are you dissing him if you think that he is only a #4 WR?? You expect a #4 receiver to catch that pass? You must be blind or high to make this observation. -

They were at the 1 yard line on 2nd down. Even a sneak would have been better! -

Bellichick called a "great game" in SB 49? How so? Where's your evidence on that? He didn't call his timeouts when it appeared that the Seahawks were going to score at the end. Had they handed the ball off to Lynch rather than throw that awful pass, the Seahawks are up by 3 with only 26 seconds for Brady to tie it. The best thing Bellichick did well in that game and his greatest strength as a coach overall is he patient enough to wait for other idiot NFL coaches to beat themselves. As for the last part of your comment, when did I act like a savant? Because I gave my opinion and dared criticize Bellichick? Sorry I have no respect for a guy who cheats regularly to gain advantage. So sorry if I hurt your feelings about your hero. -
Duke today, did the bad outweigh the good?
Livinginthepast replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Duke proved yesterday that he should have played all season. Benching him for Foster was detrimental to the team overall and a dumb personnel decision. Trying to justify ST's over a WR was asinine. The coaches not explaining why they kept him inactive was also inexcusable. I think he should have had that TD yesterday but it was a difficult catch. Calling it a drop is idiotic. Watch the replay. It hits Duke in the hands just as the Texans Db comes flying in and hits Duke across the torso disrupting the play. There are not very many receivers in the league that make that catch and hold onto the ball and definitely nobody else on the team. The 2nd so called "drop" play was excellent pass defense. Duke also made some nice grabs and had to deal with a couple of bad passes by Josh. This is what you expect from a #3 receiver and especially one who has ONLY PLAYED IN 5 GAMES ALL SEASON, but the illogical hatred for this guy on this board borders on insane. According to the Duke haters on this board, Duke shouldn't be on the team, Duke should catch every pass thrown to him, Duke should never celebrate, Duke is too slow, Duke never gets open. It goes on and on. -
The fair catch, that wasn't.
Livinginthepast replied to peterpan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly, Maybe not a TD for us, but at least a penalty for a bogus fair catch or not being clear on giving himself up. That TD would have broken the Texans and the refs knew that, so instead of being their usually ticky tack selves, they decided for the good of the ratings they would reverse the call which was probably correct. But then strangely they decided to be ticky tack in OT with us on the blindside call. Such BS!! -
Who cost us the game today?
Livinginthepast replied to fishgrappler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I find it hard to pin this on any one player in particular. Allen's fumble was huge but TBH he played pretty well overall in his first playoff game. So I think for him it evens out. Our defense had 7 sacks and held a great offense in check for large parts of the game. They also blew some huge plays. The OT missed tackles were completely inexcusable yet the turnover on downs for the Texans late in the game should have been their redemption. The Bills had the ball in a position to WIN this game in regulation and there is one man who messed it up, Daboll!! I thought Daboll called a great game for parts of it but when he really needed to get the job done he failed miserably to be daring and was completely predictable. If Daboll calls some better plays from the 29 yard line we could have won the game right there. If Daboll calls some better plays in OT we drive down and win that game. If anyone is responsible more than anyone else. It is Daboll. -

I thought that SB where they lucked out against the Seahawks, Bellichick called a really bad game and they really deserved to lose because of his errors. But of course they lucked out with the INT. The same with what happened against the Falcons. They got gifted that game by really bad coaching by the Falcons. Even last year the Rams played scared and allowed the Pats to get in their heads. Bellichick has always had Brady to bail him out and now it appears that the clock struck twelve on that! He's a weirdo, a grump and mostly importantly a cheat. Tonight looks good on him! -
Duke today, did the bad outweigh the good?
Livinginthepast replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
it was difficult catch in a tight spot with a DB smacking into Duke's torso, factor in Josh's fastball speed and yeah "as it was thrown" is exactly what I meant.
