The media forced Mcd to explain playing Peterman to the detriment of the team and they have always at least inquired about player decisions (good or bad). So why the non explanation of Duke's inactivity. If its not a big deal then just address it. its a little strange to simply drop a player who is productive when asked to be, replace him with players that aren't that productive and keep the player inactive. I think its pretty good question which the local media seem to be afraid to ask.

There are only 2 things I truly remember about this awful season. 1. The Thanksgiving turkey that the Bills served up vs Detroit where they got embarrassed. 2. After the Bills were eliminated from playoff contention, the almost national celebration by Bills haters that we wouldn't be going back to ruin another SB . For me I can remember the disappointment that we had 4 chances to win a SB and we blew it. Although we did come back in 1995 and we were 1 win away from the AFC championship, it was never really the same.

Where were you during "wide right"?

I was in 2nd year university and watched the game at my apartment on my HUGE 19" TV with my disinterested GF and her even more disinterested visiting little sister and rotund boyfriend. They played cards throughout. The whole game I was losing my mind at how bad the Bills were playing. I swore, I shouted , I slammed my hands on anything close by, I paced the room like a caged animal. I started to get hope when they came around in the 2nd half. I thought for sure on the final drive that they would score a TD and was shocked that the drive ran out of gas and time when it did. When the kick sailed wide, for what seemed like an eternity I froze in horror then crumpled to the floor in disbelief. Hoping I would hear that there was a flag or something on the Giants. But it was not to be. I can still remember the other people in the room looking at me strangely, like "why is he so upset". They had absolutely no idea of the utter devastation of the moment for me. Even now so many years later it ranks as one of the worst moments of my life. I always wonder, how would life have been different had that kick been good. I know that might seem like a ridiculous statement as its just a game etc but I still wonder about that! -
To be fair to Brady he made a pretty good block on Trey and took him out. He was also facing Trey and went for the legs to upend him so it didn't look dirty. I think Trey was probably shocked when he saw Brady downfield and attempting to block him. Had it not been so weird and had someone else on the D had been closer to the ball carrier, I would have loved Trey to demolish Brady on that play and teach him to never let his old fragile self leave the safety of the pocket again!

Robert Foster = total non factor
Livinginthepast replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It looked to me like Foster had one target last night. Which was an overthrown long bomb to the end zone where he was double covered. He hasn't been targeted by Josh and he rarely gets a chance on the offense. In fact before last nights game he had only had 13 targets all year. Josh just doesn't look for him or he just isn't used at all. Daboll isn't even bothering to use him and if the play is to him he is usually well covered. The one advantage Duke has over him isn't height (they are almost the same height) but 25lbs of weight. I would like to see both of them used next week (along with Yeldon) and Brown, Singletary and Beasley rested. I think that would be an intelligent personnel decision. But as many people say on here, how dare anyone question the coaches and their personnel decisions because fans know nothing. -
The bottom line is we played scared against them and it once again looked like we didn't prepare and they were in our heads. Brady has looked the worse he has ever this season and yet once again vs the Bills he is as elusive as Lamar Jackson and accurate when he needs to be. We weren't getting even close to him. He even tempted fate and blocked Trey white downfield. As an aside ( I cant believe that Trey didn't take him out and forget about the ball carrier when he saw him). When we should have gone for the kill shot we got conservative because Daboll is just too clever for his own good. And when we really needed a clutch pass from Josh he sailed it to Knox in the end zone. I'm sick of all of these coaches in the past 20 years never playing balls out vs the Pats. I'm sick of them being easily duped by whatever the Pats do. Most of all I'm sick of them (current regime included) of not learning their lessons in these losses and making the same mistakes. No fan of any sports team should have to endure what the Bills have against New England in the past 20 years. Its beyond endurance!

The play of the game ended up being the Josh run at 17-13 where he was close to the first down marker and they marked him short. Then they didn't really get a good look at the play and just rushed the punt team on. I know it was in our own half. But we go for it there or challenge the spot and get it and its a totally different game.
