  1. please tell me that was on josh and not another knox drop?
  2. First of I cant dismiss a point that was never articulated clearly, especially by Ed "formerly of Roch" but I did say this: "Its not like he was thrown to once! He's only been given a shot in 3 games (one of which he got hurt in)." You're the one that made the size of the sample point. And yes I would dismiss that point as lame as well. He has a small sample size because he has only played in 2 1/2 games. But we can conclude is that he made the most of his opportunities. His replacements/substitutes have a similar low sample size and have much worse stats. But we are supposed to believe that even with these much worse stats that they "make an impact on special teams"? Which BTW are pretty weak. As for the rest of this retort, You've been hating on and dismissing Duke throughout all these threads. I'm also not sure why you care so much to back up the coaches either. Did you trust these coaches when they repeatedly played Peterman? or kept failing with Zay Jones or Kelvin Benjamin? Overall I think the coaches and GM have done a great job in the success of this franchise in the past 2 years but they haven't been perfect and have had some strangely stubborn personnel failures along the way. Fans and the media shouldn't just put blindly trust in coaches especially when the decisions outwardly don't make sense. They need to be held to account. Finally, I should be "ashamed"? of what ? maybe wasting my precious time on this site arguing with people who cant see the forest for the trees?
  3. So apparently is reading my post and seeing where I addressed that. The stats only tell us what he has done in his targets. Nobody is saying he's going to catch 90% of targets over the course of the season. But we don't know what he might have accomplished and probably wont ever know now. That's a shame. but hey keep that hate on!
  4. Ok lets just go through this. You quoted me and bolded my "opinion" statement, then pretentiously said: "so your comments are really based on nothing more than an opinion based on little facts compared to the knowledge the Bills coaches have of the situation" Now you respond with the above and say " But you didn't state and option you stated". ?? I assume you meant to type OPINION not option. So my original statement you called an OPINION isn't an opinion now? I was asserting a fact? huh? Make up your mind and WTF Dude, who cares either way? I have an opinion and you can have an opinion, that's the beauty of this forum. But you couldn't leave it at that. You follow up with two pieces of brilliance: "but expecting them to make some type of statement to the fan base is insane." So expecting the coaches or the GM of a pro sports franchise to comment on player personnel decisions is "insane". These guys literally do this multiple times on a daily basis. They constantly update the status of players, injuries, firings, cuts and signings. So yes it might be nice to explain why a productive player isn't being used in a inconsistent offense. then you conclude with this MENSA special: "When someone has only caught a total of 6 passes, to state he has caught 90% is not very statistically valid if you actually understand statistics." Its not statistically valid? Huh? According to Pro Football Reference.com, Duke has been TARGETTED (ie thrown to) 7 times in 3 games. He CAUGHT 6 of the 7 passes thrown his way. One of them was TD. That works out to 86% of his passes caught (I was a whopping 4% off) . Please explain how this "not very statistically valid"? Is your math different from the rest of us? Its not like he was thrown to once! He's only been given a shot in 3 games (one of which he got hurt in). But apparently I just don't "understand" how stats work? Perhaps if Duke played more and started the season on the active roster we would have a true judgement on him and he would have more targets but he hasn't been given the chance and no reason has been clearly explained as to why. I just don't understand the illogical hatred of some in TBD of player who won us a game this year and has been strangely not allowed to contribute when he has shown he can perform.
  5. There's been no clarity whatsoever FROM THE COACHES on why they haven't used him, Only guesses from Bills beat reporters. It might be nice to explain why a player who performed when you used him was dropped (seemingly permanently) and his replacements have sputtered or been a non factor.
  6. Yes its called an opinion. what else is would it be? In my case an opinion based on evidence this season. Duke has caught 90% of his targets and has 1 td. He performed when called upon and then he was dropped. Those are the Facts of his performance so far. I don't pretend to know what the coaches think, which is precisely why I suggested some clarity on Duke from them would be helpful.
  7. I don't think it was a penalty. At the time I rewound it on the pvr and played it back in slow mo. He timed it perfectly. But at the same time you are dealing with old man officials who have an obscured view. So he will always get that call. Not as egregious as the phantom facemask call and the questionable hold at the end of the game.
  8. How about for once we reverse the script and plan in depth for the Patriots like they always plan for us. That we break down their weaknesses and focus on them. That we analyze in depth what got Josh off his game last time and avoid those plays. That we mix up what we normally do to get THEIR defense on their heels. I'm so sick of the lack of intelligent game planning by Bills coaches over the years against the Pats. 20 years almost of being scared and intimidated by Belichick and Brady. They are so vulnerable right now. Even the useless Bengals had them a little off balance last week in their game (until the Bengals gave the game away with horrendous avoidable errors). This is our biggest game against them in 2 decades, its time to pull out all the stops!
  9. The tackling by Wallace isn't the problem normally. Its the laying off the receiver by 5 yards and not knowing where the ball is that is the issue. By the time he figures it out, the receiver has caught it and Wallace has to adjust quickly. But the damage has been done. He often looks a bit frazzled back there (like he never saw the play coming at all).
  10. I haven't seen a running back get blown up (and I mean knocked backwards off his feet) as many times as I have seen Gore this season. I can think of at least 5 occasions where he has been obliterated by the defense in short yardage situations. The weird thing is that Gore is still in great shape and weighs 212 but is getting bounced back like a beachball. All I can figure is that he is too slow to make a move and defensive players are able to get a shot dead centre on him. He is way more done than Shady ever looked last year.
  11. This is what sports broadcasting has turned into in America. Part commentary, a lot of useless non insightful color commentary and a whole lot of "aww shucks" feel good reality TV style irrelevance. I didn't mind the McD/Tomlin bit or the Edmunds family story bit (both were cool) but the fixation on the Rooneys and their legacy etc was too much. Dan Rooney has been dead 2 years so I'm not sure why they had to keep bringing him up last night. As a friend pointed out to me last night, the sanctimonious portrayal of the Rooneys as the perfect NFL family and the Steelers as a team that highly values moral character doesn't jive with the whole turning a blind eye to Roethlisberger's off field sexual transgressions ten years ago. But I guess that's all forgotten now.
  12. The funny thing is that last night's victory did nothing to quash this thread. Josh still needs more options in the passing game and receivers beyond Brown and Beasley are still not really a factor. Kudos to Kroft for the TD grab but him and the other 4 receivers (excluding Brown) had only had 4 catches (1 each). Beasley was targeted 6 times and had only 1 catch. Foster didn't even have one target?!! The Offense continued to sputter and there were a couple more drops and high throws that our small receivers cant seem to get. I don't understand the logic of keeping Duke inactive when he could be improving this receiving corps right now. If he is injured or not fitting in with the rest of the team's chemistry then perhaps they would like to tell us this. In addition, the whole Duke is inactive due to focus on special teams abilities, makes no sense. Its not like we are tearing it up on kick and punt return TDs anyway. If anything its the opposite.
  13. He did the usual crib sheet that all the moron announcers do. "Josh has canon arm, McD/Bills have a great D, Buffalo lost 4 straight SBs, Buffalo is the home of chicken wings, NF is close by!!". Then he sprinkled in a few erroneous observations and a full serving of verbal diarrhea.
  14. Amen to that. Why do this NFL broadcasts always have to be so syrupy sweet and absolutely full of crap at the same time. The focus should have been on the Bills from the start!!
  15. Playoffs!!!! I'm happy for the team and for all of us long suffering fans on here and everywhere in Bills nation!!
  16. need a long time consuming drive. but no jauron ball please!!
  17. If Johnson pays attention on his blocking, white gets to the end zone
  18. I knew the second that Trey got tackled that we wouldn't score a TD.
