Bills players need to do what soccer players do looking for a penalty in the box. They need to feel the hold or the interference which is definitely there (Obviously a lot more times than it is called ) then collapse like they have been hit by a sniper. They need to literally oversell the foul. Otherwise these idiot officials, who in some cases are staring right at the illegal contact or hold, wont get the message. It seems like cheating or faking but if Diggs had done that in the OT on the 3rd down play where he was held by the jersey, we would have got that foul called and the drive would have continued. The play near the end of regulation I think he did enough to get the officials attention but they STILL didnt call it.

A Few Thoughts about the Bucs Game, in no particular order
Livinginthepast replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree. I saw a several ghosts of Bills teams past in last nights game. It was very SBesque in parts of the game. Unfortunately the huge gut punch as we lost in tragic fashion was all to familiar. My wife questions why I dont get a new team (after 40 years of heartbreak). -
Week 14 Gameday Bills at Buccaneers Postgame thread

This game in the first half reminded me of the 2nd SB vs the Skins and the 3rd SB vs Dallas. We were getting blown out, dominated and playing scared and nervous. All of course on national TV. The 2nd half was a bit reminiscent of the 1st SB vs the Giants and unfortunately just like in that game we should have scored a TD at the end to win it but failed. Year after year this damn team rips my heart out. Can the football gods throw us bone for once?!! -

You are absolutely right. If The DB doesnt look its PI, However, Why is the NFL's new interpretation of appropriate pass defense seem to be you can smother a receiver and have you hands all over him as long as you are looking at the ball. In years past its PI all day long. -

Diggs was literally held by the jersey on that play in OT. Watch the replay. The holding was clear and obvious -

Diggs was interfered with on the last play before the tying FG and then held on the incomplete pass in OT. TOTAL BS officiating. I swear on the overhead view that the TB Rb didnt make that first down on the run either. -
People talk about a team having "statement wins" The Bills did that against KC this year. Conversely though the loss to the trainwreck Jags is a "statement LOSS". A perfect combination of McD not having his team ready for the Jags, the Bills offense taking the Jags lightly and some freakish bad luck. Did the Bills talk smack about the Jags the week before? Because it sure seemed like the team was motivated to defeat the Bills. I still cant get my head around the fact that despite all I just mentioned, that the Bills still lost. The Jags look like a really badly coached team who cannot stand their coach (who just looks and acts like he doesnt want to be there).

That is very sad news. Tasker is right, Pike would blow people up on the Special teams. Damn that whole era of the 90s Bills right up to the playoff loss to Tennessee was filled with great players but also a huge supporting cast of talent and interesting characters like Pike. It makes our current squad of Bills look pretty vanilla.

Star was not much of a factor on Monday. He is an oddly hit and miss player (almost literally in that sense). I didnt hear his name mentioned much if at all. I did notice several times on replays of the Pats runs that the Pats RBs were running right past Bills D line players within reach but the Bills line didnt react fast enough. If Star did get Covid, it stands to reason that even though he might be testing negative, that he isnt over the physical effects of it. Some people who get over Covid talk about how physically draining it is and if Star wasnt vaxxed then it might have been a tougher bout for him.

Trent Dilfer won a SB. I dont think some of the younger fans appreciate how many chance factors had to come together for that to happen. The Bills at their best are way better than Dilfers Ravens team, they are better than most of the NFL right now. They can overcome the inept and bias officials. They can overcome Overhyped coaches like BB. They can even overcome their own coaches shooting themselves in the foot. The question is how bad do they want it?

This is the kind of stuff that makes you wonder if McD is competent enough to win a championship. I would have given him a break in year 1 but this kind of asinine decision making in year 5? Does anyone have a confidence of what McD would do if we were in a high pressure situation in the SB??

A Few Thoughts about the Patriots* Game, in no particular order
Livinginthepast replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think this game came down to coaching and nothing else. However, after some thought , I dont think that McD and Daboll were outcoached by BB et al.. McD just choked under the pressure and made decisions that put us in a position to lose. The challenge cost us a timeout. The choice of getting the wind vs not in the 2nd half was also key. The indecisiveness on the goaline that led to a 2nd timeout, was killer. The poor decision to kick a FG into the completely unpredictable wind. Not going for 2 right after the TD early on. For Daboll it was continuing to try and use the run when it was completely ineffective was idiotic and basically just killed the clock and gave us no advantage. The odd decision not to run Allen in the red zone. All of these things were small errors by the Bills coaches which accumulated for the Pats victory. People today are acting like the GOAT BB called a brilliant game plan by playing leather helmet Knute Rockne run football and that his defense had all the answers for Allen. This is ridiculous. Most college coaches could devise a game plan to stop the Bills running game when its as bad as it has been this season. In addition, relying on the wind to stop Josh was only working part of the time. It makes me livid when people praise BB as a genius when his greatest skill is not some incredible game plan but a combination of luck and relying on the opposing coaches to make stupid mistakes (which McD and Daboll did with abundance).
