Its one of those sly dirty plays that you see. Refs apparently are blind

I can never understand what these officials who are focussed on the QB are looking at. You can clearly see him pass it and you can even more clearly see Josh's facemask get hit quite hard. That doesnt happen unless its hit by something. ie the Chargers player. How could they miss something so obvious?

It was an incomplete pass. In addition Josh takes a helmet right in the face mask and no call.

After my initial fury wore off . I've come to terms with this play. It really was a superb contested catch that Hopkins timed perfectly. There are probably only a handful of players currently in the league who make that catch in that kind of traffic. No amount of hate for Dbaggish Hopkins will change that. Murray's throw is also incredible. His puts it to the perfect area of the field and gives his receiver a chance. It just really sucks it had to happen to us!

If a Bill did that, it would be blind side block on a defenseless player, 15 yards and ejection.

Best pass of Josh's career??

Was it Addison who went for a diving sack and missed? Had he stayed on his feet and pursued Murray to the sideline would that have killed the play?

Was there any "hands team" players on the field for the Bills for that play?

Back in the 2004 season, the Bills lost the home opener to Jacksonville on a 4th down td pass with no time left on the clock. The Jags receiver caught the ball in triple coverage because none of the Bills Dbs tried to knock it down. This was right after a miracle throw on a 4th and 14 where the Bills Nate Clements went for an INT instead of knocking it down that resulted in a massive gain. At the end of that season the Bills lost to the Steelers 3rd strings and missed the playoffs by a game. Every game counts and if all you need to do is knock the ball down instead of an INT then knock the f'ing ball down!

The only thing I would fault the coaching on was being continuously fooled on Murray's fake hand off QB options. Defense didnt seem ready for that throughout the first 3 quarters. They seemed to adjust to that later on in the game. Other than that this was all on the players not making plays when it mattered.

Its not as bitter or as important as a game but to lose that way just touched on the "homerun throwback" part of my memory. I got a taste for a few minutes on how I felt right after the Titans scored on that fluke play 20 years ago. Its still an awful memory.

How many times is this team going to do this to me. years off my life
