  1. That's an excellent idea. Soccer uses it so why haven't the brainiacs at the NFL figured it out?
  2. Watching for 40 years now. I think with so many games every week compared to when I started watching, the crews have been diluted in quality. In addition with HD and more camera angles we can see the plays far better than ever before. The bottom line is that the speed of the game has gone so far up that these officials just cannot keep up. Last nights game was filled with calls that were obviously guesses by the refs. The 2 illegal hands to the face calls looked at regular speed like they might be correct but on slow mo they were obviously wrong. Add to this the ticky tack penalties that have nothing to do with the play and the phantom calls where you cant see any infraction whatsoever and you have the new rock bottom of officiating.
  3. I can remember that game quite well. As a 12 year old watching I became quickly confused at what the situation was. This was before regular graphics on the screen that STAYED there. So you would see a flash of the score and the down and distance but not hear it unless it was the stadium announcer. So hard to keep track. In addition, commentators of this era were pretty good at calling the games (for the most part) some of the NFL guys from this era did the games on radio and were very descriptive with their words for an audience that couldn't see the game. So no commentary was a huge loss for the broadcast and a really bad idea. Now by todays standards with all the extras we have it might work and as others have mentioned, with some of the terrible commentators and colour guys it might be a relief!
  4. I didn't pay attention enough to Zay in the preseason to judge if he was decent. But his body of work in the last two regular seasons has been a huge disappointment for his level of pick. I was pretty angry though that Duke had a great preseason and still was disrespected and didn't make the cut. That is what bugged me about the way this regime seemed to favor Zay for no good reason. Results on the field should be everything and Zay seemed to get a free pass. Meanwhile you had a receiver in Duke who had proved himself in the CFL in Edmonton where a chunk of the season is played in very difficult cold conditions (ice and snow) but that somehow wasn't enough for the Bills. When combined with his great preseason, Duke should have made the team and Zay should have been either traded or cut before the season started. In addition, Zay's mental breakdown in 2018 may have really been a much bigger factor in his inability to reach his potential. I'm not sure if the Bills were afraid to move on from Zay after last season because they did not want to be seen as being insensitive to mental illness.
  5. Daboll is good with the playcalling in parts of games and then seems to suffer from brain cramps especially right after half time. The execution on some plays in some key 3rd down situations has been abysmal. I think Josh will improve with more experience. Even today you could tell he was more careful with the ball.
  6. Daboll is very lucky that the D bailed him out on that. Now run the damn ball
  7. and a terrible punt ?!! WTF that was stupid
  8. OMG that was terrible playcalling by Daboll
  9. Vrabel = another dumb ass headcoach in the NFL.
  10. You see TBD does know player personnel!!! Feel awesome for Duke!! Redemption!
  11. one of the worst kicks ive ever seen
  12. Don't worry Al Riveron will no doubt rule justly!!
  13. Wow that was just like the home run throwback
  14. The Titans O coordinator adjusted to our pressure but we haven't adjusted to theirs
  15. In the end intent doesn't matter one iota. Jones lowered his head and his helmet hit Allen's . Sorry 15 yard flag and instant ejection. If the inept refs didn't see the hit then why did they flag it? And if they saw it and flagged it for a helmet contact then the logical step next is ejection. At the moment that Josh hits the turf Riveron and his team should have been in contact with the refs on field and explained that was a flagrant hit and an ejection was warranted. But it was the Pats and this league apparently is devoid of logic.
  16. Riveron should be the guy that makes up for the unbelievable incompetence on the field with these officials. I repeatedly say this but the NFL has the worst officiating in pro sports. Yesterday there was a multitude of blown calls . There was a missed face mask on Allen, a missed intentional grounding on Brady that was absolutely textbook. The refs blew the ejection call when Allen got hammered. Then the refs miss the fact that the INT #3 was out of bounds based on the Bills player touching. You would think if this made any sense and the NFL didn't have its head right up its butt, that Riveron and his teams job would be to correct all these egregious errors and make things right with some sober second thoughts and multiple replays, but NO they have blown the review process as well. The Pats player who hit Allen deservedly got a flag for the hit but the second that the league saw that replay of the helmet to helmet, they should have contacted the head ref and ordered him to eject the player. Instead they come up with some completely BS reason for why it didn't merit an ejection and/or apologize for the on field refs blowing it when it should be corrected in real time by Riveron et al.
  17. I fault him for the first challenge which had zero chance of being successful. He either didn't see it properly or got bad advice. The 2nd one I thought was a good challenge and from McD's angle it looked like the Bills player got rubbed out on the pick. The problem was that the Bill player stupidly tried to avoid contact on the pick and this made it a legit innocent looking obstruction. I think the 4th and goal was a good call to go for it but just not that play and not with a cold and rusty Barkley. If he had that much faith in Barkley then do the Philly special and have Barkley catch the pass in the end zone a la Foles. The Pats are just too well coached for that vanilla play they used. Other than that I like McD getting in the ref's faces after some really bad non calls and picked up flags.
  18. If Allen is going to do jump ball passes. Williams would be ideal. Zay is a waste of space on the roster.
  19. He was bad no question. But Its this type of tough game that will build his character and force him to get better. I wanted him to get mad and win the game for us and he might have if it wasn't for the dirty hit.
  20. TJ Yeldon cluelessly makes no block and Barkley gets smacked. Then the camera pans to the plastic Pats fans in the crowd whooping it up. Could that have gone any worse.
  21. We've had 20 years of losses and bad karma VS the Pats. Just once can the football gods give us a comeback win right now?
  22. Text book intentional grounding......no call and now we are backed up . Once again NFL refs worst in pro sports.
  23. You can touch it you can catch it
