The guy hasn’t had any football success before Josh Allen or after Josh Allen. While those playoff games were great, that season was rough. We had a chance at missing the playoffs after the Wind Bowl against the Pats. Since Brady took over we’re 16-4 and 3 of those losses were the close Eagles shootout, the Chiefs playoff loss which was razor close, and the Texans game where the kicker hit a 58 yarder. Brady is balanced and intuitive. He gets it. And he’s doing it with a crew that nobody believed in when the season started. Daboll was all about numero uno. Sending Allen on QB sweeps while injured (Bucs game) and cutesy draws (Titans loss) that were all about showcasing Daboll’s talent for head coach. “Props to Brian Daboll for helping Josh Allen” ad naeseum by the media in 2020/2021. Daboll sucks with Daniel Jones. He was supposed to be the QB whisperer, that’s why they resigned Jones. It turns out Daboll was just the Josh Allen d***rider.

Saw it in person. Saw it 10x when I got home. Have watched it 10-20x since. Great memory.

Daboll over Brady makes less and less sense the more time goes on.

One more narrative falls apart at closer glance. “McDermott tightens up and can’t win big games” is up next.

There is no logical reason that holds up as to why he hasn’t won since 2017. Every “reason” falls apart. It’s the same reason Allen had “no chance” for MVP last year but somehow Lamar does this year. The reasons are emotional. The explanations are reactive and not proactive, which they try to pretend that they are.

I think everyone likes him, but the narratives on him have been so bad the last 7 years that they’re hesitant to openly say he’s awesome. A Super Bowl win would be enough for people to admit it.

It’s funny. Nobody gives Allen his due, his true due, yet everyone secretly likes to watch him play. I wonder if Allen wins a SB that his national fanbase will become way larger than typical.

I also sense that Benford has already hit his ceiling, whereas Bernard, Shakir, and Rousseau have another gear or two in them. Draft DB high or see what you have in a veteran Elam.

VCs can be good. Private equity is almost never good.

If that’s what they’re saying, then you can expect those narratives to become the dominant opinions of much of our fanbase and the fanbases of other teams.

I think this might finally be the year Allen gets the MVP.

It’s because he wasn’t appreciated coming out. So he had to do extraordinary things just to get credit for being decent. Now he’s just pure extraordinary and people’s eyes are opening up to what always was.

The question becomes why does the broadcast team behind the scenes not give Allen his due?
