  1. That would have been what, a 55 yard FG? Not a gimme
  2. Is Michael Irvin a leprechaun?
  3. Just looked on Spotrac. Doesn't look like it
  4. 21-6, soon to be 7. Cincy on top with 8:20 remaining in the second quarter
  5. Is Juan Castillo watching? He should be...
  6. Pat Kirwan was also wetting himself over the Raven's D on Tuesday during his Sirius XM Moving The Chains show./
  7. No. Just no. I'd rather see what Todd Collins is up to.
  8. You know by that logic, you'd have to cut (or trade) guys like Shady and Kyle. What do you think the reaction would be from the rest of the team knowing their captains have been cut/traded? I can't imagine it would be positive.
  9. I don't know if I'd want to trade a team captain. They were picked by the team to represent the team. What kind of message would that send to the rest of the guys? No message of family, or "we don't bring in football players, we bring in people" would ever be believed going forward. McD and Beane would lose the team for sure if Shady was traded.
  10. Peterman had a good preseason and McD thought he learned from the rough time he had last season. That would be my guess.
  11. That's great. Now they need to schedule an OT to visit.
  12. I'm not sure how you, or anyone really, can predict this. Way too many things in the air to predict the Beane/McD tenure duration.
  13. You will be waiting a while. Might as well get comfortable.
  14. Apparently now I do. McD called them young in his post game press conference, though he may have been referring to a couple of players.
  15. That sounds reminiscent of the Dick Jauron era (shaking as I type that). Larry Tripplett, for example, was a character guy who got pushed around at the DT spot. I really hope their definition of character is one of give full effort, do your job, be focused, and don't be a screw up.
  16. It's not just you, I think others are wondering the same thing, myself included. I want to give Beane the benefit of the doubt that he's working under a tight cap situation where he can't afford to sign a better player at this time. They were interested in Mack, but didn't have the resources to acquire him, so Beane knows more talent is needed. Just right now he can only go after bargain basement players. Star may end up being his biggest mistake thus far.
  17. I still think Baltimore is a middle of the pack team, and did not think they would lay a 40 burger on Buffalo. They'll come back down to earth soon enough; they're not as good as the Bills made them seem. Agree with doing better at home, which would be a huge disappointment if they repeat yesterday's performance. That would mean McD has already lost the team at the beginning of the season.
  18. Right now, more experienced players; we don't know what we have yet in some of these young guys. We have a fairly young team, and the older vets (save Shady), haven't been stepping up - think Clay and Benjamin.
  19. There are 15 more games to play. I'd expect to see improvement this coming week against the Chargers, who are no world beaters.
  20. You're probably right about the time frame. McD and Beane are on year 2 of five year contracts, I believe. By year 4 there should be significant improvement, and if not, year 5 we probably won't be hearing anything about "the process." It will be win now. I think you do play with a team of sub par talent if this is a throw away/building year, which by McD's comments that it is only year 2, is the case. I'd believe that they really are going to build the team through the draft, which Beane has set up to do. Hopefully his FA acquisitions going forward will be better than what he has brought in so far, which so far could be a function of having little cap space to work with, even though largely self-inflicted. Still, this should be around a .500 team and I think week 1 is an anomaly, but just a hunch.
  21. I'll take these lopsided victories with a grain of salt. In our case, Baltimore isn't as good as the score made them seem, and Buffalo isn't as bad as it seems. Baltimore is still a middle of the pack team who will come back down to earth (maybe as soon as Thursday night against the Bengals) and the Bills probably are not too far behind Balt.
  22. Is that worth McCoy putting up 200 yards against us, twice a year?
  23. I believe McD is intelligent enough to speak honestly and directly, if he wanted to. McD is not dumb, but seems to be loyal to a fault. His approach is to tell the media nothing and handle everything behind closed doors. How he'll handle yesterday's disaster will be seen in six days. But he's not going to berate his coaches and players on tv or in the papers. This is essentially the Belichick approach, only less gruff.
  24. That's starting to look optimistic based on yesterday. But yeah, I thought the Ravens game was winnable. Shame on me.
