What I want to know is why do they come out flat in the third quarter when they have a small to modest lead? Like McD tells them at half time to nurse the lead and run out the clock. Yeah, it is tough to win in the NFL when you take your foot off the gas against any opponent...especially the one coming up this week.

The Bills typically play a zone defense with the safeties in cover 2. McD will have to modify this if he doesn't want to get picked apart. I'm not sure how what we play is different from what the Steelers play.
-
Sadly this is the case. The Pats O-line will get away with this against Hughes and others.

Packers are looking good, much better than I thought they would. Rodgers and LaFleur seem to be working well together. Biggest thing I see though is that your defense is legit; Mike Pettine is making a big difference for you all. I'm a little concerned about the Bills vs NE. Josh Allen has made mistakes that he was able to overcome against lesser teams. If he makes those mistakes against NE, I don't think he and the Bills will be able to overcome those.

Good to hear from you PatsFan. I don't think the Bills win this game as I think coaching will dictate the outcome. What I want to see is an aggressive game plan from McD and company, where they demonstrated that they learned what Brady's weakness is...pressure up the middle, getting hands up to deflect passes, playing the receivers physically to disrupt timing. Your defense is looking tough. Daboll has to find what is working for Josh Allen and the offense and stick to it. Don't get cute and fix what isn't broken.

If he hasn't stayed healthy, and he's 31, then what is the appeal? Why build a roster of an infirmary squad?
-
Exactly why would Cincy trade AJ Green? Let's at least be realistic...

I feel Goff is grossly overpaid. The SB proved that. I suspect the people who say he is more of a system QB are correct. Goff needs the offense, and defensive reads, figured out for him.

Beane is not a god. Let someone else handle the WR position

It will never stop. People overlook, or forget, that Sammy was injured more than he played or played healthy. -
Beat New England, Dallas, Pitt, Balt and the story will flip 180 degrees

Not to the extent that Shady improvised. Singletary seems to stay more on script. -
We’re on to New England ...

That Antonio Brown situation is a wicked pissah....ROFL Belichick is going to inflate Edelpunk with HGH so he plays next week, and of course will get away with it Of course the Pats*** OLine will hold our DLine 99% of the game, and get away with it Questions: How much does Kraft pay the refs each game? What if his checks don't clear? -
C+/B- one of those two. Josh is lucky he was able to bail himself out of some really bad decisions he made in the 3rd quarter. JA hasn't started, or even played in, 16 games yet.

One with a little bit of controversy associated with it.

They'll get run over like they did in the SB. Goff had no idea what to do.

Exactly. Browns need to go back to the Kozar era unis.

Next week: Bills 56, Patriots 3!

McD and his coaching staff are going to need to come up with a plan to constantly attack, stress execution and mistake free football, and for the love of all that is good not protect a lead and/or play not to lose. -
After listening to the announcers, what I know about Frank Gore is that he wears cleats that are a size too small, constantly need taped up, and are no longer available for purchase.

It's interesting that Gore, Yeldon, and Singletary are all north-south runners, where Shady is more east-west/improvise. Shady's style probably doesn't work as well with what the OLine wants to do in their run blocking scheme. -

Exactly. What does McDermott tell his staff and the team during halftime: "Alright guys, we have a lead...nurse it an run the clock out" ? Good luck with that strategy next week. NE** will put up 28 in the 3rd quarter, alone. -
Unfortunately, I have to agree. Just look at the 3rd quarter. We come out after halftime with even a close game, Belichick will end up making the game an embarrassment. McD, Frazier, and Daboll will not have answers to anything the Pats do. It pains me to say this because I hate the Pats, but I see this coming.

9/22 Bills vs. Bengals 2nd half thread

That's fine, just play aggressively against the Pats. Can't play it safe (i.e. play not to lose) or the Bills will lose.
