  1. My strategy has been to buy jerseys of young stars early in their roookie contracts. I only own two jerseys - Alonzo and Watkins. Id buy Tre Whites jersey, but Id hate to see him traded away too.
  2. My favourite part about the Tampa game is that with the game on the line and the ball in his hand, Taylor led the Bill to a fourth quarter comeback. He hasn't shown the ability to make plays with the game on the line and I was thrilled that was able to make the clutch plays needed for the win. If Taylor can pull a few more victories out of the jaws of defeat, he will win over the fan base. I have cheered for every quarterback who has donned a Bills jersey and will cheer for Taylor to succeed until the next Bill's quarterback takes his place. FP
  3. https://www.si.com/nfl/2017/10/26/donta-hightower-injury-new-england-patriots Apparently this injury was an issue back in March. The Jets pulled an offer sheet to Hightower after failing his physical.
  4. This is music to my ears. I did see a couple of plays with pulling guards in Atlanta. I'm relieved to see some adaptability in our coaching staff.
  5. Dick Jauron always lived up to his motto - "It's hard to win in the NFL"
  6. I'm more nervous about this game than the Falcons game - mostly because I was prepared to be happy with a hard fought loss in Atlanta. This week, only a win will do. It's early in the year, but the bye seems to be at a really good time, with injuries piling up. Hopefully Glenn, Dareus and Gaines are 100% after this bye and Matthews and Humber's recoveries are shorter than predicted.
  7. You had to go there...
  8. I just watched a replay of the Pats* game last night. Gilmour is still the same Gilmour. Every time there is a tackle to be made in his area and another Patriot nearby as well, he backs off and lets someone else do the dirty work. He likes keep his jersey clean.
  9. I like Sammy and the 2017 Bills would be better with Sammy instead of Gaines. Assuming we turn the 2nd rounder into a starter, the 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 Bills will be better because of the trade. This trade was the right move.
  10. But wait.... the Patriots have better Bills players than the Bills do!! I'm so confused and don't know who I can trust on TV anymore.
  11. It's a nice change from our past to benefit from the opponent coach's poor in-game decisions instead of our own. For the record, I'm not a clairvoyant like the rest of you. I had no expectation of a fake on the play. Given the score, the field position and the talent on Denver's team, there was no reason to make that call.
  12. I agree as well. Marcel is one of the best penetrating DT's in the game. It's a shame that he isn't on the field for 3rd and long to get after the QB.
  13. Every coach insists on running his scheme in spite of the personnel and learning curve associated with the switch. We had the best running game last year, but insist on switching to a zone blocking scheme this year. Two years ago, Rex had the perfect personnel for a 4-3 defense (that was #4 defense in the NFL the year prior), but insisted on dropping pass rushers into coverage in his 3-4 defense. It seems it would be easier for an intelligent coach to adapt to an existing effective system than to teach 53 players the new coach's system. Just my 2¢. FP
  14. I am afraid that our running game will take a step back. Roman had a well designed run game that was very effective last year and I'm not sure what to expect this year. Conversely, I'm optimistic that our passing game will be better (using slants and screens) and that our defense will be more effective with most of our personnel well suited for the 4-3.
  15. Whaley made all of the bad decisions and McDermott made all of the good ones.
  16. I agree completely with this statement.
  17. If Trump bought the Bills, we know he would make the Bills Great Again.
  18. This one is easy. My two favourite teams every week are the Bills and whoever the Patriots are playing. Go Falcons!!
  19. Okay, I'll play. Let's take the first QB selected after the Bills first pick in each of the last three years and see how much better we would be. Let's cancel the trade up for Sammy while we're at it, so we have three picks to choose from. Here we go... 2014 - Johnny Manziel 2015 - Garrett Grayson 2016 - Paxton Lynch This doesn't feel like the end of the train wreck to me. I don't support the model of picking a QB in round 1 every year, because there are 21 other starting positions on this team and some of them need to be elite to compete. Let's be honest, there are not enough franchise quarterbacks available for every team to have one. In Taylor, we have a slightly below average QB who had low passing stats this year with an injury depleted receiving core, who protects the ball well and is dynamic with his legs. Right now, he is the QB who gives us the best chance to win and should remain our QB until a better QB is on our roster.
  20. I'm calling it first... Back-to-Back Off-Season CHAMPIONS!!! Go Bills!!! FP

  22. Sarnia, Ontario After watching Flutie tear it up in the CFL, I followed him into Buffalo. He moved on and I never did.
