While I think it's a Vic Fangio is a very good DC, I just don't see it happening. McD doesn't run the same type of defense as Fangio and I'm not sure there's a coaching connection there.
-
Serious question for those who want McDermott replaced... what makes you think the Pegulas can find a coach who's better than McD? The Bills took long enough to find McD. Look how the Sabres rebuild is going. Look, if it gets to the point where McD is absolutely wasting Josh's talent ala Mike McCarthy in GB, then by all means find a new HC. I just don't think it's there quite yet.

I'm not mad at Levi Wallace on that play. He was doing what he was told to do. Again, question the coaching on that play. Why were the Bills protecting the sidelines at all? You protect the sidelines when the other team has no timeouts and needs a TD, not when they have 3 timeouts and need a FG. Just absolutely ridiculous defensive play calling. You should want the Chiefs to do a long preforming route that takes up time. Hell, you should also just tackle Kelce and Hill at the line, take the freaking holding penalty.

Along with that, why not purposefully commit defensive holding on their receivers. Yea you’ll get the 5 yard penalty but it can also eat up some clock.

Daboll's Play Calling -- The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

I'd agree with that. Thought McKenzie would have earned some trust after that NE game and start taking snaps from Beasely. I guess not. -
Daboll's Play Calling -- The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

I'd agree with this and while many people would point to a string of bad play calling for Allen yesterday against the Jets, I'll point to execution. The Jets were in man coverage, and were very tight in that man coverage. You have to absolutely execute to beat that man coverage and that's on the players. Saying that, I think Josh would have normally punished the Jets with his runs in those situations but they certainly weren't going to risk that this week. Josh also needs to lean on Beasely when these situations come up and he did try to hit and just was off target. Completely agree with 5 and 6, Josh is not a WCO Quarterback, he needs the rhythm and maybe that's also what happened in the middle of the Jets game. -
Wrong guy in my opinion but Stephon Ross going to Stephon Ross. Chris Grier has had some awful draft picks.

Just guessing but… If it’s Chargers, Sunday at 1pm. If it’s Patriots**, Monday Night Football -
Really happy for Harry Phillips and Ed Oliver…

Yea after his play this season he's definitely one of the best 32 players selected in the the 2019 draft and I would argue top 16, which doesn't put him far off where he was selected. -
Wonderlic Test Eliminated from Pre-Draft Process
Wayne Cubed replied to Wayne Cubed's topic in The Stadium Wall
Doesn't say in AP article. Could be a couple things, maybe they don't think it's needed to determine good football players. Maybe they think it can have negative impact on how a player is viewed? Like that the player isn't very intelligent? -

There's some other interesting changes to the combine from the AP Article. WRs will no longer run a wheel route, instead they will run crossing routes. Running backs will run option routes instead of corner or post-corner routes. -

IMO, this looks a lot like looking at raw numbers and trying to come up with conclusions without any sort of context. As pointed out by a few posters and off the top of my head, Philly, Indy and NE** were all bad weather games. That represents 10% of the available home games Josh has played in. Throw in Josh's rookie season and that's another 6 games, where it was a bit of a mixed bag and Josh was a rookie QB. Those 9 games account for 1/3 of the home games Josh has played in at home. This also takes away from the fact that Josh has had some elite games played at home as well. Seattle last year springs to mind. He went 31/38 for 415 yards and 3 TDs and he rushed for a TD as well. And as others have said how does Josh preform against other QBs who have played in OP?

Josh - 16 games 2020 vs 2021 stats
Wayne Cubed replied to First Round Bust's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't have it to hand but remembering seeing a statistic about QBs that have had 40+ TD seasons and nearly every season to follow has seen a drop off. There's been one or 2. So I expected Josh to drop off from what he had the previous season. He hasn't been as great but he's still been very good and is within the range of what I would expect other elite QBs to drop off to after a monster season. Rodgers isn't near what he did in 2020. Tom Brady equaled his output from 2020, which at 44 is mental. Mahomes is down on 2020. It was most likely going to happen to Josh and that doesn't mean it's a bad thing. He didn't fall off a cliff. To me he's proved he belongs.
