  1. Babysitter ad - perfect.
  2. I have no problem with a 4th or later being used on a QB. I think the first three picks should be WR, TE, and OL (in whatever order). Get EJ the tools he needs to be successful.
  3. So you're really wanting to draft a guy just to sit on the bench for a year, just in case EJ doesn't pan out? What happens if bench guy isn't any good either? Guess we draft another QB the next year, as well. Or maybe we should let EJ develop realistically, instead of expecting pro bowl right away. If he stinks it up this upcoming season, then draft a guy in the next draft, instead of wasting a pick on someone who's not going to see the field until 2016 anyways. I say get EJ weapons, and fill up some depth. We already have two backup QBs and a PS QB, no? Why do we want to spend a first round pick for another backup QB?
  4. If a rookie QB who split reps going into the season, and had a couple injuries, doesn't carry an average team to the playoffs, he is a bust and should be replaced the very next year... ... this place.
  5. You wouldn't be putting Branch or Dareus on the outside in a pass rush scenario. It'd be under a heavy base defense meant for 1st or 2nd downs against teams who are using a 12 or 21 (or hell, 22) personnel packages.
  6. You are absolutely insane. Why would we cut someone who is dirt cheap and just had a career year? If he doesn't fit our scheme, we should at least try to trade him for someone who does (like the swap we made to get him), or a draft pick of some sort. No way the Bills just outright cut him. He's cheap, and clearly productive when used correctly. We largely played a hybrid 4-3 last year, I don't see why the trio of Hughes, Lawson, and Branch cannot be productive at the other "DE" position.. they seemed to do ok last year.
  7. I support this.
  8. 40 yard line? Most kickoffs will be through the endzone, if not all of them. Might as well just get rid of kickoffs.
  9. So we're wanting to go into camp with 5 QBs and an open competition for the starting job, right? That'll end well.
  10. That's all fine and good, but I'm just explaining where a law like that comes from. To me the law makes sense. Is this a situation in which the teacher should get in trouble? Personally, as long as an investigation finds that the student didn't feel forced into the situation in any way, then I don't see any harm done. But the law is there to keep teachers from taking advantage of their students, whether they are an "adult" or not.
  11. I'm ok with seeing what Williams, Meeks and Searcy have to offer, personally. We didn't get to see much of Williams or Meeks last year simply due to the depth chart (Byrd, A. Williams, Leonhard, and Searcy being ahead of them), so if given the chance, they might work out just fine. Not much different than us drafting rookies and seeing what they look like. Really, we'll know once the draft comes around, what our coaching staff thinks of our safeties. If we take one within the first 3 rounds (maybe 4), then they think its a weak spot. If they don't, then they clearly see potential there, or at least as much as any rookie would provide. Other than that, not sure who in FA we were supposed to get...
  12. I was under the impression that we offered him a contract last year, but he wanted to test free agency?
  13. I have no problem admitting that I got a little eye moisture from that episode. That episode hit right in the gut.
  14. It's the whole teacher/student law that they broke. She, as a teacher, is in a position of authority and took advantage of said power. While on the outside, it looks consensual, it's hard to tell because a teacher/student dynamic is so lopsided. She very easily could have been "forcing" him into the relationship by failing him, or other academic "punishment".
  15. Have we forgotten about Chan's stacked/bunch formations already? They were very effective in getting our mid level WRs open quickly.
  16. I think we're going to ride what we have at TE. Chandler is solid, and both Moeaki and Gragg have upside that we can develop. I'm all in for a big WR. So Evans it is.
  17. Oh, I'm fully aware of our follies, and am skeptical going forward... but Jesus, I just don't see how this FA period could be thought of so lowly. Did we sign a bunch of overrated superstars? Nope. Did we fill holes and depth in places we need to? Yes. Are we set up for the draft to have the flexibility to mostly choose BPA? Yes. Is that a good thing? Yes. Done.
  18. There's not much we can do until we see if EJ grows or not. Not very many QB rookies are all pro in the first year. He's got this year, and probably part of next year to prove he can do it. If not, he'll be replaced. (and likely the coaches as well).
  19. Mostly the same line gave up way more pressure with EJ than they did with Fitz. Fitz is known for his quick reads and release (which gets him into trouble, as he takes some bad risks). EJ, in his rookie year (important), is known for taking too much time in reads, and often times won't throw the ball unless he *sees* a WR is open. So, it makes sense that a good chunk of sacks and QB pressures are on the QB (or hell, maybe the WRs weren't really getting open very well, who knows).
  20. So, Williams, playing on a weaker line, against stronger defensive lines, put up roughly the same numbers as the guys he is replacing? I'll give it a shot. Is it guaranteed success? Nope. But it also appeared that we didn't have a whole lot of options in FA. I assume we'll pick up a OL with one of our first three picks in the draft. I don't understand how people can be down on signing him. We clearly need depth on the line, which at the very least this does. I don't think anyone is sitting here claiming he's some sort of all-pro. The other signings are somewhat similar... both Graham and Spikes CAN start on this team, and at the very least fill important roles for certain defensive sets, as well as provide veteran depth. But hey, the Bills suck, and every thing they do sucks. (this is coming from someone who most here call a pessimist, heh)
  21. Look at how much room he has to assess those runs. I miss Chan's play calling for CJ. I feel like he was run up the gut all year last year. :/
  22. You know what's awesome this year? We don't have any gaping holes, leading up to the draft. Sure we have a couple weaknesses that we'd like to improve, but at the moment I'd be "ok" with heading into the season with this team, and be confident that we're at least as good as last year. So what does that give us? Freedom in the draft. And that's a fantastic feeling.
