  1. Could it be that the ex-Panther defenders are familiar with the scheme that the Bills use? If that’s the case then you’re looking at a much shorter learning curve. The really good players we would like to see signed aren’t home setting on the couch, they’re already on a team somewhere.
  2. Found a lump on my neck about 13 years ago. Common form of lymphoma (supposed to be one of the “better” ones to get). One lump on my neck and it was already stage three. After six months of chemo and a transplant at Roswell I’ve been clean for 12 years. Took almost a year to clean up and another year to get back to normal. I still check myself for lumps every day.
  3. Couple more “key” Patriots* back out and their odds in the “Lose for Lawrence” sweepstakes go way up.... figures
  4. I believe it was Ric Flair who said “If you want to be the man, you’ve got to beat the man!” Stidham, Newton, doesn’t matter. If the Bills play their game they’ll be okay.
  5. Why not just schedule two Monday night games every week and nationally televise the "better" one? Or have the two games and broadcast them based on region or conference?
  6. Would it be okay for Josh to walk on the field Sunday with gloves that are the exact same color as the ball? If that causes the Ravens defense to hesitate for a split second on every handoff or play action isn't that an advantage? How soon until the Cheatriots* try this?
  7. I believe it was an interview with Jeremy Jacobs (Delaware North, Boston Bruins owner) from years ago where he said there's only one thing harder than getting someone to move to Buffalo. The interviewer laughed and said what could that be? Jacobs replied, getting them to move away.....
  8. And we know the Jets want the same guy as the Bills, right? If Beane really wants to get to #2 it'll be expensive but should be possible. Trust the process, back away from the ledge.
  9. After the Jets and Saints games if anyone believed that Tyrod was the long term solution they were wrong. All anyone has to do is "Make him play quarterback". I'm tired of .500 seasons and that's what we had to look forward to with Tyrod. Is Peterman the answer? Obviously not at this time. BUT..... I will give McDermott a ton of credit for taking the shot. Name the last coach the Bills have had that would admit they weren't good enough and made a change???
  10. Can anyone explain the E.Wood penalty following the 1st quarter interception? We were in a bar and couldn't hear anything but it appeared that the Jets player was still "live" as he had been knocked down by his own teammate. We thought it looked like a smart play and should have been Buffalo's ball again. Did we miss something?
  11. Actually, this makes a lot of sense. He will most likely make the team for his Special Teams contributions. Last year, when in the "wildcat" everyone knew he was going to run. If he is really a threat to pass from the "wildcat" formation it should be much harder to defend.
  12. Just stop in at Ravenswood. There's usually a couple dozen Bills fans on the patio.
  13. So, assuming that Nelson comes in and produces over the next 14 games, what does that do for Roscoe's future? I really like Roscoe as a punt returner but if he drops to the #2 slot guy does that make him tradable once he's healthy? Because of his return numbers, he should have some trade value (4th-5th round?). If the guy could stay healthy this discussion wouldn't happen but he can't make it through the season.
  14. I worked in Erie for 5-6 weeks last fall and I can tell you the for now, it's a Steeler town. But according to a bunch of the locals I met that'll change as the Bills and Browns improve. There's always a dedicated bunch for each team and a larger group of bandwagon riders that follow whoever's good at the time. For now, that's the steelers. Our day's coming...... And.... it might be the "mistake on the lake" but if you spend a little time there you'll find it's actually a decent town with good people and nice neighborhood bars. I've worked in towns that were much worse.
  15. I'll never understand why people like the OP and others have such a sense of entitlement. Mr. Wilson, Mr. Salvatore and so many others have given so much to this community for so long they're taken for granted (by some). I appreciate the fact that the Bills are here when it would have been much more profitable to move them. Mr. Salvatore's donation of these tickets to Military, Public Service, and Youth groups shows tremendous generosity. The WNY region is lucky to have people like this we can call neighbors. Ralph and Russell, thank you for all you've done and Merry Christmas.
  16. Unfortunately, I believe he found his position this past Sunday. That would be in the press box. The kid was a one year wonder at Penn State. From what I've seen, (and I'm no expert) he just doesn't get it. If he can't even use his speed and athleticism to contribute to special teams, he's gone.
  17. Everyone on the boards says "you can't cut a second rounder" but I have yet to see a reason for the Bills to keep Hardy. Last year he and T.O. were the only tall receivers we had (for the Red Zone), this year that's not the case. Nelson and Jackson are almost as big as Hardy and they run better routes. Cutting Hardy will surprise some but not me...
  18. Granted, I have no "inside informant" and I'm only getting info off these boards but I believe that Easley hurt his knee when he hit the ground and Byrd's injury is from the surgery he had last year. Batten actually got hurt through real contact but the rest of this years injuries seem to be minor (short term). I think that's a lot better than the past few years. I also think that the new training / conditioning regime and having more contact in camp will make this team better as the year progresses.
