  1. If you're not already, you should be "fixed".
  2. I'm not saying I'm convinced one way or the other, but Musgrave has the chops. Look at his resume, it's relatively impressive and stands the test of time.
  3. Oh....dear....God. I'm not saying I agree or disagree, but bringing such a loaded social / economic / political point to this board, seems like adding gasoline to a dynamite depot while smoking a cigarette. Really unnecessary and pointless. He fricken owns the team! You know, the one that essentially supports the very forum you feign your condescending and pedantic opinion from? Here is not the place - now is not the time - and the subject is not the focus.
  4. You and your logic...pfft, nonsense
  5. It also sounds like Kim is ready to bring Whaley to the point of elimination with another misstep or two.
  6. I like the McCoy bent, but Musgrave should not be overlooked. Man led an prodigious Offense and had it not been for an injury to Carr, who knows if Oakland would still be playing. Musgrave also has to his benefit, as mentioned above, worked with and developed a young QB and was the Vikes OC the year Peterson ran for 2,000 yards. Interesting and certainly a well qualified candidate.
  7. I'm not drawing any conclusions, but yes, he does....
  8. Gilmore was solid to great overall, Darby was a runner up for DROY of the year but you're ready to write him off because he had a bad second year despite the entire Defense not doing well - hence Rex's firing and a rookie DB getting some playing time, a d-line that was ill suited for a 3-4 scheme despite the HC / DC insisting on it, and again Preston Brown had a fabulous Rookie season when they played in a 4-3....do you see a theme here?
  9. Great....where do I send the check?
  10. Yes, you do please. Because while I'm not a big McDermott fan, you would need to look at all the years he's been a Defensive Coordinator, including the years leading up to this one...you know, the one that brought them to 15-1 and to the Super Bowl last year?? The one who have consistently been highly ranked for years leading up to this one? Is no one allowed to have an "off year", especially one where they lose two of their biggest Defensive playmakers in Norman and Keulchy? I realize Keulchy was not the entire season, but it still impacts the "overall" ranking....additionally, I'm not giving McDermott an excuse due to Norman, but it does play a role to some degree. Again, McDermott has enough Defensive Coordinator history to not take ONE season as to high or too low...IMO
  11. Sorry, no - he's not. I don't want a running QB, I want a tall pocket-passer, who reads Defenses, plays in a Pro-Style, good arm but better accuracy, and can make at-line adjustments.
  12. As to your contention about needing to hire a good HC not a good OC/DC, I whole-heartedly agree. But, every Coach will have their niche and every coach will have their weakness. Given Shanahan's pedigree, I personally think it's safe to assume he has connections on the Defensive side of the ball ready to come with him when he does get the HC gig...and yes, his Offense I'm sure will be designed and implemented by him, but you see McCarthy and Reid calling plays, so it can be done.
  13. ^^^^he responded before I got a chance to, but this is just about spot on to what I "would have" said / wrote. So, keep in mind, the Bills have not had a dynamic Offensive mind this century - let that sink in just for a moment and then come at me with Anthony Lynn (in all due respect to him). Additionally, ANY Offensive Coach that gets a winning record from Hoyer and truly catapulted RGIII to a winning season with a creative Offense, is surely someone to evaluate and consider...yet, Bills continue to go DC for interviews, absent Goodwin.
  14. Personally, I think it's great that you come here to check this out once in a while and engage with others while they snark in the warm shadow of anonymity - and, I for one, appreciate the patience it must take to *want* to let information out that you're hearing, but don't because your professional integrity prevents you from just throwing sh*t against a wall to see if it sticks. It's frustrating for fans because we're all desperate to see a wining franchise again and everyone wants to join in the parade to say, "Hey, I know it's the same, but we're different this time!", but then again, false hope is what the Bills have sold us for almost 20 years, thank you for not being part-in-parcel to the problem. And, I know there are a great many of us who appreciate when you drop some knowledge here that helps us feel a little better about the team we love (and sometimes love to hate). Take care and keep up the good work! Also, I remember Tim Graham's departure, that was pretty ugly, let's hope nothing like that happens again.
  15. Sorry, but I very much disagree. Whaley didn't get here until much, much later and after Buddy Nix's first draft, he fired almost every single Scout and Whaley came on board and the following year, the Drafts got better (for the most part, no team is perfect). Additionally, no one needs to mention coach turnover, it's a worn out thread, plus no viable QB (sorry, TT is not the long-term answer) and switching Defensive schemes every 2 years certainly doesn't help....the Bills haven't "modeled" the Steelers almost at all, even the last HC pick has been revealed to have been the owners' choice and not Whaley's. I doubt the Rooneys interfere with making such football decisions. Like every organization or corporation I'm sure the owners are involved, but to essentially override the GM's decision or make one where there is a notable objection, is not how the NFL should be run and only this HC search will show us what kind of the Pegulas will be: learn from their mistakes or be doomed to continuously repeat them.
  16. I would certainly prefer them over what's been discussed thus far....Steelers keeping churning out wins and post-season appearances and in some cases, Super Bowl(S!!!) championship(S!!!). Imagine that....multiple championships. God, if only...
  17. If for some reason this report proves to be accurate, I think this means the interviews are showing the guys who are willing to relinquish control - are not the sort of HCs the Bills are looking for and they've acquiesced to the idea such personnel control is a necessary evil to have the HC they truly desire.
  18. You may be right, but I disagree. I think the Bills know they're up against a timeline and want to interview all the candidates they are able to who are not in the playoffs, so that when teams are eliminated they can interview those coaches with a robust wealth of information to go into the next set of interviews to compare and balance. In other words, they're using the time they've got wisely and not just waiting until the next team is eliminated to get to guys they'd like to speak with, so they can weigh out many options. I assume, if one of them absolutely struck them and they believed they'd found their guy, there would be an announcement (or a leak) that there is an agreement in principle or a verbal understanding that such a guy said, "Let's do this". I think Steelers staff and maybe (hopefully Chiefs' Toub) some other unknown commodity is still waiting to be interviewed.
  19. I refer to Darrell Bevell and Kyle Shanahan and you invoke Chan Gailey and Doug Marrone? I may be alone in this, but I don't think there is virtually any similarity except that all four of them pee standing up....ok, not Marrone, but the other three. Bevell is a Super Bowl winning OC 2x, has developed Russell Wilson and initially identified his talent and lobbied to Draft him to the Seahawks (yes, there are facts to back it up, you just have to read through the internet and reliable information), and Shanahan has one of the most dynamic Offenses in football to a near record setting tune...with Matt Ryan throwing for nearly 5,000 yards, 38 TDs to 7 INTs, the lowest number of INTs he's thrown in his career. And before you extol the virtues of Matt Ryan and Julio Jones, keep in mind while Jones had gaudy-like numbers for a couple games, he was also hurt for a fair portion of the year and Ryan with Shanahan's offense was doing it without him. But of course, Doug Marrone - the Syracuse HC who could barely accomplish much, and Chan Gailey was already out of his depth, are comparable to those two names....
  20. Ummm, NO! The suggestion that the new HC could use Tyrod the way Seattle used Wilson, and I simply pointed out the fact that they are virtually nothing alike. I would take a QB in Draft and sign a decent pocket passing QB in FA
  21. And yet, the guy who did, Bevell, might be available. Read up on how he scouted and essentially petitioned the team to Draft him. As well as how he helped Favre have one of his best seasons at the tail end of his career in Minnesota. Do not understand why Bevell doesn't get some interest from Bills.
  22. In all due respect, Tyrod Taylor is as much like Russell Wilson as Mayim Bialik is like Kaley Cuoco.
  23. I honestly don't get the Whaley hate...Terry clarified what happened with Rex, which was essentially Terry not wanting to be a lying sack of poo and told Rex, "You wanted an answer: you're fired. We're moving on", AFTER Rex requested a private conversation. So, yeah - I can see how that happens, when Terry had essentially already talked to Doug and they made up their minds with a week to go...as for HC search, during the presser it became quite clear this is the first time Doug and his assistant will actually lead the search and basically make the choice, with Terry's approval of course, but I don't think that's all too much to ask...where's the Whaley hate-narrative coming from? He has certainly failed to identify a capable QB, but also what's become clear is Rex wanted Tyrod and he stuck to it, to the point of being fired. Let Doug do this search and tie his fate to the choice, and to that end I can support whatever happens from there...
  24. I'm not a fan since I just don't think it's the type of progress that occurs at the NFL level. Can he get better? Of course, but I believe it will only be a marginal improvement.
  25. I understand it was suggested here, but point is that all of the exactitudes of those re-structures, cuts, and cap conversions almost never occur as expected so worrying about or projecting how much cap money is *actually* there is essentially pointless because the nature of the cap is extremely fluid. So, there's just too much to project....add in a new HC and staff, and it gets even harder since you don't know what or who they're doing to want.
