The truth is, the Bills most likely need at least 2 Safeties given Graham probably goes and even if AW does return, as we saw this year injuries are just too much a factor for him to count on him this year. So, preferably the Bills get a good 2 WRs in FA, one possession type and one of the faster variety to take the place of Glass Goodwin and then Draft a S and WR as well. However, LB is a position of need also - again depending on Z. Brown and how McD feels about him and the group. Either way, LB depth if nothing else, should get some attention. To me, Safety, WR, D-Line, LB and an extra Corner are things that need to be tended to via FA and Draft. If Taylor goes, QB jumps to the top of that list - and the salary is probably a wash since even if QB becomes the target in the Draft, you still need at least one good / decent Vet, i.e. Foles, Glennon, Landry Jones showed well a little this season, etc.

Rodgers is just....other-worldly. And Green Bay had the chops to Draft him 1st round with another Hall of Famer actively playing - and playing well, yet no "controversy" that I can recall. Managed it well, and hard to argue having him sit for a couple years was a bad thing....everybody turned out well in that one.

Ryan was Drafted in 2008....just pointing out a minor technicality.

Childress & Olson Both Reported as Out for Bills' OC
BigBuff423 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ok, fair enough - and will do! I look forward to reading about Kaaya as well - seems like a tale of two years. Also, the Washington QB, Browning I think is his name? Anyways - thanks again! -
To be fair there have been 16 Franchise QBs Drafted since 2005 and another if you believe Garoppolo's audition was something indicating future greatness (personally, I'm not convinced, but was a very good showing). Some years there was none, other years there were 2-3, but that is still quite a few while the Bills have NONE of those. Staggering really. Keep in mind the teams that have Brady, Manning (Eli), Big Ben, Brees don't count as any of them.

Right now, all options should be on the table - for consideration and evaluation at least.

I'm sincerely inquiring here, no sarcasm, but what has you convinced? -
Rob Ryan Interviewing with Washington for DC Job
BigBuff423 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With this news, I am absolutely convinced I could get and sustain a job as a OC / DC in the NFL. Inexplicable.... -
+10000, this was spot on....well done.

I didn't expect much of a different answer from you....I'm pretty sure if you were a cartoon character you'd be Eeyore....an awful idea, why? So the Bills could have a QB that knows how to pass from the pocket? Or a QB that can adequately play in the WC offensive system, IF that's the direction McD goes in? Tyrod isn't it...never will be it. Move on.
-
Yes, more so now than ever. Tyrod is NOT the QB of the future, he's not even a bridge QB I would like to see with the Bills because he will be lurking on the sidelines, and the media will continue to whip a QB controversy into a frenzy. Take a good / decent #2 QB, cut Cardale now - he doesn't have it, take a journeyman QB, and then Draft a QB in the 2nd round for the future. See, Foles, Matt Moore, and Rook, ala Kaaya or Mahomes or the Washington QB (can't think of his name) et al. This allows for a QB to literally hold the spot while a QB develops for a couple years and you don't make a huge sacrifice in the ability to win. Foles in a WC style Offense and McD with his Defensive staff, could certainly bring the current Buffalo Bills into the playoffs, if they all do their job accordingly.

I would add, one of the truly key necessities for a QB in the West Coast Offense is timing with accuracy. A big arm is not as important and in Buffalo would combat the terrible winds and inclement weather later in the year with shorter & quicker routes, but demands exquisite timing. -
I like this hire. Coached some really good and high profile players. Like his personality and coaching style (from what I saw on Hard Knocks) and think both of those things mesh well with McD.

No.

William and Marry - football factory

And I'm sure not intentionally but you're also leaving out Mike Tomlin. Edit: sorry, didn't see - pay attention to - the fact you were basically doing a lineage as opposed to those who attended and are NFL HCs. -

Then I'm very grateful you're not a billionaire owner or GM. -

Marrone Wants Crossman as the Jags' ST Coach

At one point Schmidt was truly good...Carp has always been streaky, so while I sincerely hope Carp is out the door for a more reliable kicker, I'm not of the opinion that Schmidt needs to be kicking someone else's balls elsewhere... -
No, it doesn't. Someone making it about how they made their money, is totally unrelated to how the team is playing or how they're going about their business related to football operations. If it was a tremendous significance to you or others, at the time he was trying to buy the franchise and be approved by owners, was when you had the opportunity to use your protest signs, mailing petitions, etc. Now that it is done, you could simply remove yourself as a fan of the team based on your disdain for the owner's means of financial opulence or just....let football be football and take your political / economic / social views somewhere else. The Pegulas own the team...until they decide to sell or are convicted of some crime, it won't change. And funny you don't see the hypocrisy here: you throw verbal darts at the owner of the team you follow based on HOW he made enough money to own said team, thereby saving the team from relocation and losing the franchise. Would you feel better if someone else bought the Bills and moved them?
-
That's kind of funny....but rather than a picture, could you elaborate as to why? EDIT: I didn't see the quotation mark and misread your statement, my bad...I deleted my initial response...hey, Friday morning - bar of expectations should be set pretty low.
-
His contract expired - and others have speculated Oakland didn't want to lost Todd Downing, so they promoted him and allowed Musgrave's contract to expire....but it's a good question and if McD is looking at him, and there's nothing saying he is, I'm sure a phone call or two or three is being made to try and determine that very answer.
-
And I'm not sure why...the more I read, OC for Adrian Peterson's 2,000 yard rushing season, just called a pretty damn good Offense in Oakland with a 3rd year QB being developed as a great QB...plus a number of other good nuggets on his resume. Other than him not being a "name", I don't understand why fans aren't warming on the idea of guy who just THIS YEAR, produced a well-balanced and prolific Offense in one of the best Divisons in the NFL.
-
Additionally, Getsy - WRs Coach for Green Bay is putting together some interesting years for his resume. One way of thinking outside the box.

Presently I'm on the Musgrave train....
