it’s a small sample size, but the kid looked special and played bigger than he was. They even thought he was 6 foot three when he was actually only 6 foot one. I don’t see that with Addison, so I don’t think it’s a fair comparison, but if we do take Addison, I hope he is even a little close to Justin Jefferson’s level.
-
Looks like he has amazing hand not hands lol but it just doesn’t look like he’s a natural hands catcher but there also isn’t a lot of tape of him catching balls so maybe I’m wrong
-
Wait are you talking about Justin Jefferson? That dude was 100% a wow player at LSU. I always said when I watched him with Chase and Burrow that he’s just as good as Chase and more dependable. He also played bigger than he was and looks like it as well. Addison does not wow at all. He’ll be a decent #2 I’m sure but no way is he in the same category as Justin Jefferson in college and will never be where Justin Jefferson is now

Same I’m for sure able to take any remaining if needed

Man I hope you’re right. -
I drool over his potential but as of right now he would be nothing more than a 6th O lineman and red zone specialist because he’s not a natural pass catcher or route runner. I think he can develop and could be a top 10 TE in the league some day but for the next year or 2 when we’re in our Super Bowl prime I’m not sure we want to invest our first round pick on a great blocking TE. If he falls to us in the 2nd then heck ya I’m in

Shoot that would be one of the few ways I’d be ok with taking a DT first round. We take White and then trade Oliver and a 5th to AZ for Hopkins and they eat half his contract this year. It’s fun to dream about a scenario where we get Hopkins and Diggs on the same team with Josh throwing them the ball -

Just hope the bills feel the same way. Beanes wheelhouse is the trade so I think he can move back if the board fell like this -

With the contracts given out this offseason, the only O lineman that will 100% make the team is McGovern and the O line is in dire need. They will 100% look at O line both inside and outside in the early rounds of the draft and if they don’t then they’re not watching the games the same way we are with Josh having to play hero ball running for his life. I believe (moreso hope) Beane understands this and is going to invest heavily in the offense this draft -
Still so many excellent CB and DE available in FA

I’ve been wondering when does signing free agents stop affecting comp picks. Is it right after the draft? -

I like Kincaid a lot too but I don’t want to trade up in this draft unless for a premier OT. Too many good TEs later and honestly the top 10 WRs in this class are all between 2-3rd rounders normally but will be pushed up because of team needs -

I’d for sure be fine with Mayer here if the board fell like this. Then round 2 and 3 get the O line and WR. Goes against the grain on what Buffalo has done in the McBeane era but man let’s make this draft about Josh and the offense. Can still pick up some LB and DT depth later and we know LBs can be had post draft on a one year deal if needed. Plus like I said before for all the pro LB folk, Rapp is going to be used in a hybrid LB/S roll. I have a feeling McDermott is going to be creative here and yes thank you Gunner! You’re awesome at this stuff -

I like the reasoning that comes with a lot of your picks but even though this is a deep corner class if Joey Porter Jr slides to Ravens he’s the pick. I also understand the reasoning for Bills taking a WR but I would be sick to my stomach if we took Hyatt first round. He just doesn’t do it for me as a first round talent. He’s fast and is good at the deep ball but doesn’t run routes well and doesn’t feel like a first round talent. You’re right that trading down would have to be on their mind at that point with all the first round grades being gone and a lot of O line and WR prospects with 2nd round grades remaining -
Dude can play Tackle or Guard. It’s not a wasted pick taking one of the best offensive lineman in a good O line draft. Honestly best case scenario is drafting him lights a fire under Browns butt and he wins the RT job while Wright takes one of the guard spots. Then McGovern and Bates fight for the other guard spot and then when when Morse retires one of them takes his spot if we don’t find someone better in the draft this or next year. Also as Dawkins gets more expensive and older it would be nice to have an heir apparent already working on our line. I hope Wright falls to us and is the pick. He will only make our team better and protecting Josh is priority #1. You can never have too many good o linemen
-
Man not bad. Probably one of the only ways I’d be ok not taking an OT in the draft lol
-
I like him too because of the potential and would be ecstatic getting him in round 3 but because he needs refinement with route running he doesn’t separate very well at this point in his career. He has that WR 1 upside but needs a year or 2 learning from Diggs on how to run routes. I want at least one plug and play O lineman before we take him so the highest I’d take him is round 2 if we take OL round 1

Draft longshot most likely to succeed

Deuce Vaughn -
My protect Josh 2023 NFL draft: 27. Best OL available out of Skoronski, Paris Johnson Jr, Wright, B Jones, or Torrence 59. Best OL available out of Schmitz, Tippman, Avila, Bergeron, Mauch 91. Best WR remaining Michael Wilson or Jonathan Mingo 130. Dorian Williams LB, Tulane 137. Brenton Strange TE, Penn State 205. Max Duggan - perfect backup to Josh QB, TCU
-
Good call on Mazi Smith. Don’t want DT early but I would be as mad at him or Kancey being the pick
-
Man I hope not. Just nab Cunningham on a one year $1.7 mil contract and call it a day lol. I have a feeling Rapp is going to play a lot of Big Nickel/Hybrid LB for us anyways… I hope Wright or Broderick Jones falls and is the pick but if we have to go defense we better either better trade back for that LB or take a dude that dropped like maybe Kancey who would rotate in for Oliver and eventually be his replacement next year
-
Kincaid does remind of a modern day Jimmy Graham type. He’s just fun to watch as a big slot. Best pass catching “TE” in the class. Hope he learns how to block a little better. I’d love him but don’t think he’s a McBeane guy. Mayer wouldn’t surprise me as much because he’s dependable in both blocking and pass catching even if he doesn’t have the wow Kincaid does. All in all I don’t think Beane goes TE early.

TSW Mock Draft Poll - Who Should the Bills select at #91
NeverOutNick replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
This weekend I’ll try and come up with a Tier’d list with detail. A couple quick notes about this WR class is that it’s boring at the top with no real #1 game changing types with first round grades but I actually do believe there are about 20 WRs that have skills to make it in the NFL. I don’t see star power like Pickens or Wilson last year but definitely some upside guys. Zay Flowers is my favorite WR in the draft because he makes everything look easy. He’s a natural separator and like I’ve said before he’s like a human algorithm for finding the most precise route to gain the most yardage after catch. I like Q Johnston as my #2 but why doesn’t he stand out in big moments? Why did he get held to 3 yards vs Georgia in TCUs biggest game in program history? Is he just a big #2? The 3 guys that have #1 WR potential are also HUGE risks because of character or injuries or both are Michael Wilson, Kayshon Boutte and Jonathan Mingo (I would take a shot on any of these guys in the 3-5th round range) Josh Downs is fun to watch and will be an excellent slot WR Tillman reminds me of Gabe Davis. Love the potential but he’s so up and down with his performances. He makes it look easy and then he almost plays too relaxed to where he coasts along and makes me wonder where the heart is. Most of the taller receivers in this class aren’t great route runners (even though I don’t love JSN and Addison for where they are projected to go they are the best route runners) I do like the potential with this class in the YAC department. 3 other guys I just like because they pass my eye test of this guy could be nice on the bills and will also probably go later in the draft are Jayden Reed (watch this dude in the snow just feels like a Buffalo guy), Xavier Hutchinson and Charlie Jones I can dig deeper on more guys later but honestly if we can’t land Flowers or JSN (he’ll be gone) at 27 I’d take BPA round 1 and 2 (at least one of those picks better be O line) and round 3 take whoever remains out of Mingo, Wilson and Boutte (he may be off our board though -
