is there a HC out there worth going after?
NeverOutNick replied to dbfla10's topic in The Stadium Wall
Although I’d love to trade for Andy Reid or Mike Mcdaniel (outside of maybe swinging a deal for Daboll) it’s not going to happen and we’re going to have to get someone in college or who is an OC now. The guy has to be an offensive coach because we can’t keep losing our offensive coordinators every couple years. I love Brian Flores and Lou Anarumo but it just can’t be another defensive guy running the show, sorry. Also, we can’t act like we don’t have the most attractive Head Coaching position available. Any potential HC would be dying to have Josh Allen as their starting QB so we can be picky. To me outside of realistically trading for Daboll the only 2 guys I’m willing to give the keys to a Super Bowl title to are: #1 by far - Jim Harbaugh - He’s a proven winner everywhere he goes. He’s gotten Kap to a SB. He’s made the erratic JJ McCarthy into a top 10 QB in this class. He always has an an amazing offensive and Defensive line. He’s not as prickly in his old age and hey he may bring over some good college scouts to help Beane and company with the draft since it seems like he has some of the best people on the sideline viewing these games lol #2 - Ben Johnson - He is very creative and always schemes someone open. Jared Goff went from an up/down nightmare to count on to now being the most composed QBs in the league. And he’s got some of that Dan Campbell passion I think the Bills would eat up. are there other options? Sure but none that I want or think we need to pursue. Now let’s make it happen and I’m sure a great D coordinator will come our way as well and if not right away it doesn’t matter because we’ll be putting up 30+ points every week anyways -
This is a special WR class. I’d love Odunze the most if we can get him first round. A lot of good WR talent out there this year. Also really like that UNC kid, Walker and even though he’s not big, Franklin is a nice Diggs type WR.

Thank you! Just let Al Holcomb run the show the rest of this season and throw the kitchen sink at Jim Harbaugh in the off-season. Dude won with Kaepernick and is killing it with another talented yet erratic QB in JJ McCarthy at Michigan. He builds through the trenches and is a proven winner that won’t butcher in game management.

McDermott is the stand alone biggest problem with this team. Love the man, hate the head coach. He’s incompetent as a game manager and our team never seems to be prepared to play 60 minutes. Beane is one of the best GMs in the league, consistently giving his coaches quality players and making in season moves to help this team fill holes. He’s not the absolute best drafter but his ability to wheel and deal is unmatched. He may need a few better scouts in his ear but the dude is a great GM. No way am I tossing him to the curb.

Fire McDermott - 12 On the Field INEXCUSABLE
NeverOutNick replied to WEATHER DOT COM's topic in The Stadium Wall
McDermott still being a head coach after this many horrible in game mistakes is ludicrous. Doesn't matter how bad the players played. You're the head coach Doesn't matter how well the D played. You’re the head coach! 12 men on the field, 13 seconds, way too many bad games and losses vs bad opponents. Sorry brother but you’ve ran out of lifelines. Time to move on -

Said this a few days ago. Harbaugh would get this team a SB title. He got Colin kapernick to a SB. He always builds a great o and d line.

McDermott answers why we stopped uptempo offense
NeverOutNick replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
😆 no way that’s real… reporter - “hey coach that uptempo offense got you guys a TD on the first drive, why’d you change it” mcdermott - “well once you find something that works are philosophy is let’s change to something that we’re not sure will work because hey why not” 🤦🏻♂️ -
It’s an offensive consistency and game management issue. We start off the game with a great game-plan matriculating the ball down the field on quick reads and get a TD. Then the next quarter and a half we go away from that and start running wide and trying to force deep passes that aren’t there. Why change what’s working? On top of that when we finally are getting the offense back on track to get another FG or TD before half our head coach is lost in the clouds with 43 seconds left and on opponents side of the field we let the clock keep rolling. We let 16 seconds drop off the clock to rush a hobbled Kincaid to the line of scrimmage and basically throw to him which might as well have been spiking the ball to stop the clock and waste a down. Dorsey fixed his mistakes second half and the offense started humming again and I don’t blame Kincaid for the fumble but man that sucked the air out of our comeback. The defense tightened up and Joseph earned every penny of his new contract stopping the bengals and eventually forcing them to have to punt on a promising drive. The way we started and ended the game is the way we need to play the ENTIRETY of the game. If we ever did that continuously, we would be what we should be, and that is the best team in football. But we truly do have an “identity issue” and it shouldn’t be this way with our HC who has been here forever. He’s a great guy but as a coach, McDermott and Dorsey are perpetually lacking of what this team needs on a game by game basis.

We matriculated down the field with quick efficient passes first series then we totally change course and this is where we’re at… What I’m even more annoyed with is the absolute trash game management by McDermott. 43 seconds left with your TE limping to get on the line call the TO regroup and drive down to get a TD. But no we let 16 seconds run off the clock and dump it off to a player that doesn’t need to be on the field. This happens way too often and is the main reason we aren’t a perennial #1 seed. We have the talent, we need better in game management and consistency on our offensive play calling

Washington v USC: Battle for the First Overall Pick
NeverOutNick replied to mannc's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’ve been good with evaluating QBs in the past. Nix needed the extra time in college football. Kid is going to be a successful NFL QB and I bet a good amount of NFL GMs will feel the same way and take him first round. Barring an injury I’d put money on him being taken top 20 -

McCarthy is the guy I feel like needs the most time to grow. Hope he stays another year but with the crap going on at Michigan he may have to leave. Hope he transfers to another school and keeps growing as a QB…kid is talented but also has a lot of head scratching throws. He’s the Zach Wilson of this class for me. He’s gotten better each year at Michigan but I don’t think he’s ready yet to be an NFL QB. Stay one more year clean up the mistakes, learn to scan quicker in the pocket and he’ll be the the #1 pick in 2025 -

A lot of the media talking heads prop up the obvious guys because yes you’re right WIlliams is a unicorn. He’s not Lamar Jackson but he’s definitely a more accurate and stronger armed version of Fields. I hope he’s willing to take coaching because he could be special if somehow the giants got him and Daboll cleaned up his rough edges like he did for Josh. Maye was my favorite prospect going into this year. But man this year he’s been making some dumb decisions too. It reminds me of Justin Herbert’s last year at Oregon. Herberts junior year he was unbelievable but then Maye and Herbert’s final year in college left you wondering what’s going on with all these bad decisions. I think Maye and Penix throw the prettiest balls in this class. So much accuracy on the deep balls, just great placement where the ball is just so easy for the receiver to catch. Penix inside the pocket is the best QB in this class. You give him an Eagles O line and let him sit and scan the field and he will tear the NFL apart but he’s inconsistent with pressure. He’s not scared to take a hit but when he scrambles it’s not always pretty. I was very encouraged tonight though. Nix is a gamer. Dude lives to put the team on his back and is electric making throws on the run. Is he as athletic as Williams or does he throw a deep ball as pretty as Maye or as accurate in the pocket as Penix…no. But man he just gets the job done and even though he’s not elite in every category, he has the least amount of flaws in his game and wow has he grown into a great prospect since his sporadic play early on at Auburn. I really like Nix. He’s a lesser version of Joe Burrow to me. realistic and good spots for each QB: Williams - Daboll and NYG (he did it with Josh he can do it with Williams) Maye - GB and Matt Lafleur (He’d thrive in GB with that culture and fan base behind him with a good Offensive HC) Penix - Vikings and O’Connell (Really good O line, great weapons and creative HC. It’s like UW of the Midwest lol) Nix - Raiders and Jim Harbaugh (hate to do it to my boy but if anyone is going tough it up and knock the chiefs around I see Jim Harbaugh and Nix being special together…I’d rather see him go to the NFC but this is the next best choice. Screw the chiefs lol) -
Washington v USC: Battle for the First Overall Pick

I don’t disagree with that but you put any of these 4 QBs (willams, Maye, Penix or Nix) on Georgia or Michigan and yes I agree they win the national championship. He is USC (sorry for the double negative) but that doesn’t mean he isn’t the reason they lost a game regardless of how absolutely dreadful USCs run defense is. They would’ve won that game imo if it weren’t for Williams’ fumble that turned into a Washington TD, stupid sack when they were in FG position and #19 dropping a for sure TD early and the stupid holding on another TD that was called back. -

NeverOutNick replied to mannc's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe you didn’t watch the game it’s ok to be a stat junkie and not actually see how his fumble in the first half led to a Washington TD and how he took his team out of FG position taking a 15 yard sack in the 4th. We all knew this game was going to be over 80 points total because neither team has a defense but go ahead make your one liner comments because ha ha they sound funny…caleb is wreckless and that won’t win consistently in the NFL. Mahomes needed Andy Reid and Williams needs his version as well or he’s going to be a more talented Fields 2.0 in the NFL -

NeverOutNick replied to mannc's topic in The Stadium Wall
Caleb plays so wreckless. All the talent in the world but him and #19 cost the Trojans a W tonight. Williams needs a good offensive minded HC to get the most out of him or else he’s going to be a mess in the NFL. Can’t live on pure talent and make bone headed decisions like running into the pass rush over and over. Penix really impressed me. I knew he was super accurate in the pocket and throws a beautiful ball but against Oregon he was garbage scrambling out and couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn BUT wow did he show up on a couple throws outside the pocket tonight, especially the TD to the TE. Penix will be a top 10 pick in this draft and I also think the headiness and grittiness of Bo Nix gets him taken top 15 too. He’s a plug and play QB right now and honestly think he could be the best pro. I love this draft class and even though Williams will be the #1 pick and has all the potential in the world I love the 3 QBs behind him more (Maye, Penix and Nix)…hope they all go to the NFC. We don’t need any more franchise QBs in the AFC -
Bills sign DT Linval Joseph---Elam to IR
NeverOutNick replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
100% love this dude but man are dudes at 1BD need to work on their interviewing skills. Felt awkward but Joseph handled it like a boss. -
I agree with almost all of this except I like Murray and think he’s done a great job. I don’t see Fournette as an upgrade over Murray but I do love the addition in case of any more RB injuries. Fournette is not a great runner or pass catcher but he can block and he’s serviceable if needed. The other 2 signings I love for what was available. Douglas is going to fit in fine and hopefully he rubs off on Elam. And who doesn’t love a huge mammoth DT to clog up the running lanes. Slam dunk. Now let’s get on another winning streak and stay hot throughout the playoffs. Go bills

Bears CB Jaylon Johnson Requests to be Traded
NeverOutNick replied to ExiledInIllinois's topic in The Stadium Wall
If you’re guaranteeing a SB championship with giving up a first for Jaylon Johnson then sure sounds great but we can’t push all of our chips in for a maybe imo. I’d love for our D to get a little tighter in coverage but our team will go as far as Josh takes us so unless Johnson doesn’t cost a lot I’m kicking the tires on cheaper options like Hopkins or Sutton for Josh to have now and still have our early draft capital to take a stud like Odunze for the future -

They’re all available for the right offer on teams that are going nowhere. Courtland Sutton would be a nice get as well if cheap enough -

I just hope Beane finally understands that Davis is not a reliable #2 WR. He showed up last week, he showed up vs Steelers last year, and showed up huge vs KC in the playoff loss. He’s fun to have as 3rd WR but anything more than a 3yr 30mil contract would be insane. Plus I LOVE Diggs but he’s on the back 9 of his career too. Time to really Invest in a WR early in the draft. No more lame duck potential guys like Shorter, Shakir (hopefully he becomes something), etc -

Agreed Elam and a 3rd is the most I would give up. Doing this means Tre White is gone next year and we need all the high draft picks we can muster in this loaded draft class for other needs. I trust our FO with finding late round DBs…but we also have expiring WR contracts coming up in a draft class with a lot of talent at the position (love the UW kid #1 and I love that UNC kid Walker I think is his name). I want it all because winning this year is essential but having cheap great pieces for the future is just as important -

A few offensive players I’d love our team to go after if it didn’t cost much are: 1. Deandre Hopkins (I’d give up a 5th rounder and they eat some of the contract) 2. Saquan Barkley (swap James Cook who has 3 years left on his contract for Barkeys expiring expensive contract and we have our guy to get us to the SB) 3. Josh Jacobs (same as Barkley but would rather have Barkley as he is the better pass catching option) 4. Devante Adams (this one could be a stretch as he’s owed a lot of money still but he wants out of Vegas no matter what he says so may not cost much) also I think Daboll should kick the tires on trading Daniel Jones to the Vikings. Vikes want to make a playoff push and Jones is a decent QB when healthy to compete in that division for years to come. Dabs gets a top 5 pick at QB that he can mold the way he did with Josh Lastly I like the idea of getting CB Johnson from the bears but this is a LOADED draft class so I don’t want to get rid of too many assets. A 2025 second or 3rd rounder sure. And I’d love a big run stuffing DT but those aren’t coming cheap. But Aaron Donald or Vita vea are available I’m trying to get them
