  1. If we get a QB that can make the deep throws, that lineup, w/ Spiller in the back field, could create matchup nightmares depending on the offense we run. If DHB & TJG played wide out w/ SJ in the slot, Fred Davis at TE, & Spiller in a single back set, the speed guys could clear out the secondary with Davis & SJ having their way underneath, & Spiller as the dump off. How do you defend that?
  2. That will be your loss. I sometimes disagree w/ his player assessments, but he is a valued poster who adds a lot to the board.
  3. I'd love the trade down, but I'm not at all high on Leveon Bell. I love the idea of a power back but he doesn't really deliver the kind of punch when he hits the pile you expect from a guy his size.
  4. I no longer feel sorry for Ted Johnson. Calling a woman ugly (unless she's a real POS) is unforgivable.
  5. Me: I played little league w/ a guy who played on the Hermitage HS football team w/ Darren Sharper. Darren Sharper played w/ Nick Barnett in GB. Nick Barnett played w/ Fitz in Buffalo.
  6. My theory is that they think available FAs and camp cuts after the draft will offer the same value +/- as what's available now & would like to go after the best players available in the draft & then patch whatever remaining holes exist in FA. Edit: I also think the cap strategy is long term rather than trying to squeeze in whatever they can this year.
  7. OP, Grow up. Thanks, Rob
  8. I've been very impressed with what I've seen of Murray. Reminds me of Brees. Taj Boyd's another prospect. Edit: Some guys are high on AJ McCarron, but I can't say I'm one of them, but I may change my tune next year.
  9. Hopefully Pettine puts Bradham on him with a mission to shorten his season.
  10. A lot of people here would blow all their money on a top end pair of shoes at retail price only to find themselves out of money and with no pants. Meanwhile, the guy they've been calling a cheapskate walks out in a full suit he got off the clearance rack.
  11. In OP's defense, this isn't as bad as the Caleb Hanie thread.
  12. I'd be willing to bet Warmack will be better than Levitre in yr 1. He might not have all the nuances of the game, but he's much bigger & stronger, and will be able to get push Levitre never dreamed of. I'd only want him at 8 if several other players were already taken, but given his elite skills I would definitely consider him there.
  13. I'm glad someone finally started a thread about the loss of Andy Levitre.
  14. If I may share a moment of honesty: !@#$ Andy Levitre. Nothing personal, because I don't know him personally, but as a fan, I couldn't care less about his future or well being. In fact, I hope he goes down as one of the great FA busts & is out of the league in 3 years. I hope he thinks back to his glory days in Buffalo where despite playing for a losing team, people held him in high regard. I also hope yesterday was the high point of his professional life.
  15. Without looking it up I'd guess Tebow has more wins in about 1/3 of the starts. Not that I judge QBs by wins (or seriously thing we should make Tebow our QB) but your analogy doesn't work.
  16. He might even be an upgrade if healthy. That's a big ? though. Steelers cast-offs are rarely a good investment, but could be worth exploring.
  17. It all counts. If you don't have a viable QB you can at least have some fun. If he were up for it I'd bring Favre in on a 2 yr deal.
  18. I'm taking some comfort in the fact that we're still only down 1 starting spot on the OL, we have an abundance of OTs (maybe one moves inside), & Marrone is an OL guy & perhaps knows what he wants to do. Hopefully there's a plan in place here.
  19. This is far more disconcerting to me than losing Levitre. Wonder how much he got.
  20. I'd rather have Tebow than TJax. Sure it might be a disaster, but at least it would be interesting.
  21. As far as QB goes, Fitz's exodus makes the Matt Moore discussion more intriguing. I assume he'd be a significant upgrade over T-Jax in case we don't get the QB we want. Our QB situation would make for an enticing landing spot for a guy trying to jump from the ranks of b/u to starter. Dude, no offense, but you are about as consistently negative as anyone here.
  22. That's the damn truth. And LG is one of the primary positions where you want to get that kind of push, but Levitre rarely delivered in that department.
  23. I know he hits hard, but is he that good overall? I'm asking, I haven't really focused on him. Also, isn't his game similar to Searcy's?
