  1. That was really insensitive of you. I'm surprised no one responded to my potato suggestion. I thought it was a great comprimise.
  2. Oh Jesus F'n Christ, we've been over this already. But I can't deny your logic that all the dead Indians are being demoralized by the fact that their image is glorified as the mascot of an NFL team. If you're going to beat this drum I expect you are equally outraged by the Chiefs? No? And we could get into it, but I don't want to shatter your feel-good image of the peace-loving "Native American" who was at one with the land, and the spirits, etc., etc., etc. What the world really needs now are more people to get offended over symbolic gestures to generations past that could potentially be interpreted as mildly offensive.
  3. Sure the guy's talented, but I wouldn't want any parts of him. Rumor has it he expects to be paid $16+m/yr, and is demanding a trade out of MN. And he has serious issues with authority. All this for a guy who, in 5 seasons, hasn't once eclipsed 1000 yds or even sniffed double digit TDs. Am I missing something here?
  4. I have some friends named Bill who are offended by Buffalo's team name. I think we should change it.
  5. Why would you post this in a thread about a resigning (i.e. a hole that was prevented)? I'd maybe come back after FA and the draft (or at least after FA has even f'n started) and then whine about holes. At that point your complaints might sound valid.
  6. Dude, just because he's on the verge of being out of the league entirely is no reason we shouldn't bring him in to compete for the starting QB spot.
  7. Good signing. $2.5m for a nickel corner, $2.5 for an elite return specialist, and it only costs 1 roster spot.
  8. For the hyper-sensitive crowd, how would you feel if they kept the name but changed the image on the helmet to a potato?
  9. I thought the OP was bragging that he hangs out with a lot of chicks.
  10. Have to be Royce. Carcetti couldn't pull that off.
  11. My sources have informed me that the Bills will resign Mclovin in the coming days unless his demands are too high.
  12. If you could only have one, would you rather have Sebatian Vollmer or Andy Levitre? Vollmer is expected to command $7-8 mil/yr and the Pats are expected to let him walk if he demands more than 7. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5313/sebastian-vollmer
  13. I can picture Obama, the mayor of Baltimore, and a couple of thugs taking Flacco into a grimy basement with a single light, sitting him in a chair, and telling him they're here to collect. Poor Joe, with a terrified look in his eyes, says "but that's more than half my money!" at which point one of the thugs punches Joe in the guy. Obama says calmly, "that's our money Joe." The goon delivers another blow. "That's me and my partner's money".
  14. I'd rather have Leodis back than Levitre. Levitre might be more valuable to the team, but he doesn't allow me the opportunity to shout MCLOVIN!!! after a big play.
  15. Greedy mother !@#$er needs to pay his fair share! http://www.atr.org/tax-bite-leaves-flacco-second-best-a7506
  16. With all his community service he probably doesn't have that much time to follow football.
  17. I heard we might target Chad Kruger, but that might just be conjunction.
  18. It occurs to me the "along with being black" statement may have been tongue in cheek, in which case I retract my criticism.
  19. I try not to think about what might have been. Cuz that was then, & we have taken different roads.
  20. I see this less as an outright rebuild & more as an overhaul of some positions. With a new staff, and new philosophies, you're going to have to make some roster modifications, but we've still got a solid nucleus of relatively young talent. Sure we could use another DE or DB, but our D-line & secondary are hardly weaknesses. On offense we need a QB & another WR (could use a TE) but we've got a pretty decent OL, an elite RB, and a #1 WR. Injury (Chandler), age (Barnett, Wilson, Kelsay), and disappointing performances (A. Williams, Sheppard) have taken their toll, but how many of those guys were foundational players you build around? Most were role players, stop-gaps, or unproven prospects, none of which should be too terribly difficult to replace.
  21. Not true, you just have to pull out at the right time.
  22. I feel kind of pessimistic too, but I've been optimistic for the last 10 years, so maybe this is a good sign.
  23. I'm all about drafting high character guys, but how far has that gotten us?
  24. Whaley said recently that when picking at 8 you list your top 8 guys you'd be happy with & then just sit back on draft day & peel off the names until you pick. Who makes your 8? Mine (in order): 1. Matt Barkley - he's my top QB which IMO is the only position where you should reach. 2. G. Smith - See above 3. Bjoern Werner - Can rush the passer & set the edge. Playing opposite Mario, he'd make our front 4 what it was supposed to be last year - dominant. 4. Luke Joeckel - OT's not a great need, but if he's there at 8 that's too much value to pass on. 5. Jarvis Jones - Great talent, brings versatility that suits Pettine's hybrid, fills need at OLB, and in a passing league you can't have too many pass rushers. Would be my top non-QB pick if not for his neck. 6. Dee Milliner - Another value pick. Would prefer to address other positions, but elite talent is hard to pass up. Milliner opposite Gilmore gives Pettine a lot of freedom to attack. 7. Eric Fisher - Same rationale as Joeckel. 8. Chance Warmack - I know it's not a position of need (esp if Levitre resigns) & OG doesn't normally go this high, but this guy is special. I don't know if I've ever seen anyone more dominant at their position. And quite honestly, I'm just not sold on any other non-DTs as worthy of the pick.
