Lane Johnson - LT - Oklahoma
Rob's House replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't mind a trade down scenario where we pick up DJ Fluker & another pick. That guy's a road grater that could open up running lanes for CJ. -
McCoy or weeden - Cleveland is going to cut one
Rob's House replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Either would be interesting if TJax or Fitz are sent packing. McCoy showed some potential on a team with nothing remotely resembling a weapon, & Weeden is 1 season removed from being a 1st rounder in a deep QB class & didn't exactly bust last season. I suspect McCoy will be cut outright. -
Bills to let David Nelson walk?
Rob's House replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
? The shortest WR on the team is 5'11". Donald Jones is already gone. -
The arguement for taking a QB in Rd. 1
Rob's House replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. Glennon actually has pretty good pocket presence. He's good at making multiple reads under pressure with no protection. I still prefer Barkley, but wouldn't be at all upset with Glennon. -
My post wasn't directed solely at you, otherwise I'd have quoted your post, but you've made it clear that the usage of that feature escapes you. The only problem I have with your take, which is a fairly minor quibble, is the part where you suggest shouting at him. The only communication you want to have with the intruder is the sound of the pump action on your shotgun. And no, you shouldn't go exploring the house.

If K Green isn't available in the 3rd we should take Escobar out of SDSU.

Top Banker Says Government Caused Housing Crisis
Rob's House replied to truth on hold's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
So did Torry Holt. And I like the idea of reverse board mobility as much as the next guy, but not in the only John Allison thread we've ever had. -
Why is Russ B at the Combine?
Rob's House replied to Niagara Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The de facto owner of an NFL franchise is at the NFL scouting combine? That's odd -
This conversation is deteriorating quickly. The ONLY issue is whether it was reasonable for him to believe there was an intruder in the bathroom. Based on what little I know of the case that seems unlikely, but I don't know all the facts. If there actually is a dangerous intruder in your house, his safety should be very low on your list of priorities, or else you run the risk of him being wanted for your murder.

Top Banker Says Government Caused Housing Crisis
Rob's House replied to truth on hold's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
God forbid. This guy has forgotten more about this topic than you'll ever know. Maybe you should listen to what he has to say before dismissing him. Not that it would matter; anything that runs contrary to your narrative will be summarily dismissed. -
He's good but I don't see him as a #1 NFL WR. more of a #2 or #3. he's good after the catch, but unlike his cohort Marquis Lee, he's never really blown me away with his ability to consistently beat coverage on intermediate & deep routes

Top Banker Says Government Caused Housing Crisis
Rob's House replied to truth on hold's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The dude's theory doesn't allocate blame solely to one entity, but he does explain how none of this would have been possible were it not for the unintended consequences of well-intentioned governmental interference. He does not outright absolve others of blame, nor would it make sense that he would seeing as how he responsibly ran his bank such that they weren't tanked by the crisis. -
Another " wanting to sign " Bills FA
Rob's House replied to 3rdand12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yawn. In hindsight it would have been nice to take either, but Dalton isn't terribly gifted physically, and if Kaepernick was such the obvious choice why did SF resign A Smith when they already had Kaepernick on the roster (and already had a full season to work with and evaluate him)? -
For the All offense draft, assuming you're setting the table for your QB to step in next year, I go this route: Rd 1: Trade down to 15-18 for whatever you can get, even if it's just a 4th Rd1: DJ Fluker - This guy's a monster. Now we have bookend tackles that can protect the QB and knock down defenders to break Spiller open for big runs AND drive defenders back for short yardage runs. Rd2: Terrance Williams - Get a true #1 Receiver who can stretch the field and pick up crucial first downs on slants and curls Rd3: P. Escobar/Kelce - TEs are gaining value in the new NFL. Now we can run 2 TE receiver sets, and have insurance if Chandler gets hurt. Rd 4 (1) - Ryan Swope - Big strong possession receiver who can punish the D for focusing on Spiller, SJ, & T Williams. Rd 4 (2) - M Lattimore - Supposing he lasts this long he'd be great value. We need 2 starting RBs & FJ, while still great, is getting old and probably only has 1-2 years of good football left. We could IR him for a year and let him take over FJ's role in 2014 (Maybe still keep Fred as the #3). It's rare you can get 1st round talent in the 4th. Rd 5 - L Pryor (FB) - I'm really high on this guy. McIntyre's getting up in age and may not be back. With a RB like Spiller you want a lead blocker with some speed to get out quickly so Spiller doesn't have to slow down and wait for him. Pryor is that guy. He can also carry the ball on occassion giving us the big bodied power back who can pick up a 3rd and 1 that we've sorely missed ever since McGahee left town. Rd 6 - D Hopkins (K) - Lindell's been great but he's getting old and doesn't have the pop in his foot to consistently kick from 50+. Nobody cares about the kicker until you need a game winning kick. Hopkins is the consensus top kicker in the draft and may not be available this late, but if he is you gotta take him.

Yeah, that's a myth. If you're not smoking all that frequently a couple of good hits should do the trick. If you're a daily smoker you build up a pretty quick tolerance - Even then a couple of good hits should get you high, just not as high or for as long. The nice part is that if you stop smoking for a few weeks your tolerance will go back down, unlike alcohol where once you gain a tolerance you're stuck with it.

I've met and exchanged emails with Allison. He's very solid on this topic. I haven't read his book yet, but I imagine it's as good an account of the housing crisis as you're likely to find. -
Astro's 2013 Not Too Early Bills Mock
Rob's House replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A lot of the comments here are silly. It's easy to scream about linebackers, but if there isn't one worth picking it would be infinitely stupid to pass on a solid prospect at another position to get a longshot prospect at an area of need. What you can't get in the draft you address in FA. I don't want us to go CB in 1 but I'd rather blow a top 10 pick on a shutdown corner than waste it on a LB who doesn't have top 10 talent. If we happen to have good value at LB on the board then by all means (see my sig) but this draft is deep at WR and TE, not LB and QB. Lucky for us those are needs as well. -
Thanks. Drafttek's one of the sites I used to estimate where guys would be available.

I think most people are stupid. The stupidity of my fellow man is disheartening. But until they show a depraved heart or bad intentions I generally don't derive pleasure from their misfortune.

The guy sounds like kind of an a-hole. I won't miss him.

Voter Fraud Never Happens
Rob's House replied to Southern McButterpants.'s topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
We should do away with absentee ballots & early voting.
