  1. Got to there & stopped reading because it became immediately & abundantly clear that you have little, if anything, of value to offer. If you stopped posting it would be addition by subtraction. I doubt anyone would miss you.
  2. Which brings us back to the old BPA v need debate. If we took an OT I'd measure him against whoever he'd be replacing, presumably Pears. We have great depth at OT, but do we have good starters? IDK. Glenn looked promising as a rookie LT, but is he better suited for the right? My memory fades, but it seems to me a lot of pressure came from the right side. Not saying we should go this route, but I can see an argument for it. I'd hate to see the equivalent of passing on Ngata for Whitner b/c we've already got Stroud & SS is a glaring hole.
  3. You're the guy who said Mario is below average. Your opinion doesn't matter.
  4. Figures. I can't put him on ignore though. He's unintentional comic gold.
  5. I need to find out who said Mario is below average so I can put him on ignore.
  6. Levitre's a good player, but he's not going to be steamrolling defensive linemen. For the difference of apx. 1 mil I take Loadholt over Levitre all day & night.
  7. I don't really see the problem here. In this scenario the FA acquisition is in lieu of signing Levitre, & assumes taking BPA where the only 2 QBs worthy of the pick are gone.
  8. Supposing Levitre wants $7-8 mil, I'd rather use the money to make a run at one of the top RTs like Loadholt or Vollmer. Then, if G Smith & Barkley are off the board at 8, take the best LT, move Glenn to LG, & watch the O-line just physically dominate the competition. Can you imagine that line? L Johnson - Glenn - Wood - Urbik - Loadholt
  9. This is a big part of why I think the Bills should be frugal. A lot of teams are getting themselves cash strapped long term. Teams that are good at assessing value will stand to capitalize over the next few seasons.
  10. SF sucked when they made those picks
  11. I agree with this right here. His fair market value is aroung $6 mil/yr give or take. $7 would be on the high end for him. Anything above that's getting a little ridiculous. The only way I see paying more than that would be if he was the next Alan Faneca, which he is not. Good player? yes. Elite difference maker? eh, not so much.
  12. When it comes to player salaries the NFL is a zero sum game (more or less). Everyone is subject to the salary cap. There's not enough cap room in the league to accommodate all the demands of the FAs on the market. Some will find desperate team's w/ foolish GMs that will overpay for their services, but most of these guys will ultimately sign for significantly less than their asking price.
  13. I suppose that's a valid concern. More broadly, the point is that $8-9 mil/yr is top OT money. Only a select few elite LTs eclipse the $10 mil mark. If I'm GM and I'm throwing around that kind of money I want it to be for a dominant athlete that is a true difference maker, rather than a pretty good dependable player whose best attribute is his ability to stay healthy.
  14. It's crazy. In this fictional reality the Democrats fight union bosses for reforms.
  15. Thanks. I doubt you'll get a lot of props for mocking an OL in the first, but if we don't go QB I think you could do a lot worse than bookend tackles for the next 10 years. That would be great if Jennings exhaled and came back down to reality. At $7-$9 mil/yr I love the idea. At the $12+ he's looking for I wouldn't want any part of it.
  16. My take on the age v wear debate is that it's a combination of the two. Regardless of wear you're going to start to drop off around 30. Guys who have taken a beating probably drop off a little sooner (Marion Barber III) and those who haven't often have a couple of extra years (FJ, Thomas Jones). That's why I think FJ may have another good season left in him, but know that regardless of wear that the ride is nearing the end. That's why it might be a good move to take Lattimore if he's around in the 4th - Sort of like the move with Mcgahee, only with a 4th instead of a 1st.
  17. I prefer this approach. At this point we already have some star power (SJ, Spiller, Mario, Byrd). I'd rather bring on 3-4 solid vets to fill holes than 1-2 big ticket guys. Plugging in a decent player who will make the tackles that prevent 5 yard runs from turning into 20 yard runs, or a guy that makes the blocks that spring Spiller for a big gain, is just as valuable as bringing on a marquee player at this juncture.
  18. A little perspective on what could be had with the money it might take to resign Levitre: If he's looking for $8 mil/yr, I'd rather make a run at Andre Smith, who's reportedly seeking $9 mil/yr. If we're going to drop that kind of money on an O-lineman, I'd rather spend the money on a big mauling RT that can knock DL on their asses.
  19. I'm guessing you haven't watched many of his games then. I'm not saying that Jones will be good in the NFL (not saying he won't either), but he was a very good college QB.
  20. I'm curious how big the drop off from Levitre to Rhinehardt is, or if the latter can effectively play on the left side. I haven't paid much attention to him individually when he's played so I can't really say, but if Rhinehard is only a slight downgrade for a fraction of the price, in being consistent with the analytics model, it might be more cost effective to spend the money elsewhere.
  21. I'm 6 episodes deep & so far this show is awesome. I've always been a big fan of Kevin Spacey (whatever his personal politics, the guy is one of the greatest actors of all time) and he absolutely nails it here. I find it funny that I cheer for the Dems, but if Democrats were like these guys I'd be a Democrat.
  22. Who cares. You don't need Levitre when you already have Wood.
  23. Jennings was repotedly seeking $14 mil & then dropped his asking price to $12 mil. Someone should tell this jackass you can only demand a salary the market will bear.
  24. Sounds strange. Maybe he doesn't fit the blocking sceme they plan to run.
  25. I'm wondering if any of the usual suspects who sang this guy's praises have anything to say about all this. It's funny to me how the Obama crowd so arrogantly scoffed at the criticisms and characterizations of his guy as a socialistic elitist who wants to take away guns and serve as our parental demagogue in Washington, and now that all of those characterizations are proven accurate they just slink away. I guess it's better to be gutless and keep quiet than to defend the indefensible. Maxine Waters is a stupid c*nt. She's retarded, but at least she's consistent.
