  1. If I couldn't stand my superiors and colleagues I might well do it, but I wouldn't skate with the money just because I could. I'm not that far from you on this. I think these guys should put themselves before the team, but that doesn't mean that everything else goes out the window. I'd have to be pretty disgruntled to do what Doug did; particularly to do it the way he did it.
  2. If that's really his reason for leaving I don't have much respect for his decision. If it were personal I could better understand, but being that shamelessly opportunistic is not very admirable IMO.
  3. At the time Marrone thought it was in his best financial interest.
  4. Maybe, Maybe not. If no one's as hot for Mariota as Snyder was for RG3 it could be done for considerably less.
  5. I feel sorry for him for the unwarranted levels of abuse he took from the fans, but professionally, no. He got 2 years of NFL OC experience under his belt. He's far more experienced and marketable than he was prior to coming here.
  6. He's got 25 starts. That's 9 more games of development than Manuel has. And if the eye test didn't do it for you his 96.4 QB Rating this year was significantly better than the 80.3 EJ posted in the same number of starts. And if he's not an improvement EJ should have no trouble beating him out.
  7. Kind of makes sense that if you level the playing field some will be consistently better than others. Owners who are better at running teams and hiring the right people will consistently outperform those who aren't.
  8. I don't care much one way or the other. In the 2 SBs against the Giants I hated the Patriots with a passion and watching them lose was almost as good as watching the Bills win. This time around, I'd rather they lose, but it won't bother me if they win.
  9. Ah, you beat me to it. Didn't see that.
  10. I just thought we could do better than an American Idol cast-off.
  11. I've always found that to be a bizarre way of looking at it.
  12. Funny story. Turns out the brother of the guy that wrote both those songs is an acquaintance of mine. I ran into him a few weeks ago and he got to talking about how his brother is a song writer in Nashville and showed me a list of his hits. And I'll be damned if both of those songs weren't on that list. I didn't have the heart to tell him what emasculated crap I find his brother's music to be. But it really is awful. No girl ever fell for any guy acting like the guy in that song - a spineless jellyfish who agrees with whatever the girl says. I know a guy that acts like that and he's pushing 40 and never had a girlfriend. It's sad. I have more respect for the music Justin Beiber puts out.
  13. I wanted to vote for Colt McCoy but he wasn't on the list.
  14. I've been saying this for months. Out of the pocket EJ's skill set is no better than an average back up. What sets him apart is his size, speed, and strength. So if he's your QB those are talents you want to utilize. Using him as a drop back pocket passer makes about as much sense as drafting a bunch of big, slow maulers for a zone blocking scheme.
  15. If Solarl doesn't come here I wonder if it will hurt our chances of getting Lupati.
  16. As some of you know, I have sources from pretty deep within. And based on what I've gleaned from them I've come up with a few theories. First, I don't think St. Doug's departure was entirely calculated. I think he had a plan, and exercising the exit clause was his leverage, but I don't think actually doing that was the plan. I think he didn't get what he thought he could which pissed him off, that was maybe exacerbated by some perceived slight, he lost his temper and decided he'd show them. He'd skip town, take that SOB's money, and take a **** in the sink on the way out (Polian). Probably figured he was hot property with lots of connections and would land on his feet. I don't think it was just business. I think it was highly personal. My second theory has to do with the Jets interview. Rumor had it he was as good as hired, then it comes out his interview went poorly. It wouldn't surprise me if the temperamental guy that stormed out of his last job went into the interview and trashed the Bills thinking they'd agree with him once they heard his side of the story. Unfortunately for him, as in most such cases, the potential employer hears this guy just eviscerating his last employer and realizes he'll eventually end up on the receiving end of this guy's wrath and decides to avoid it before he wakes up one day to find he's got a disgruntled, vindictive, and destructive !@#$ running his football team. That's my theory.
  17. I appreciate how compassionate, kind and caring you've been over the years.
  18. Actually, he was more productive on a per snap basis than Crabtree most of the year. His stats were down, but that was more a result of a logjam at WR and a QB who sucks at passing.
  19. I'm guessing you've never wrestled. I agree. I hope our FO is eyeing Lupati too.
  20. Morning show hosts Keith Olbermann Walt Coleman Bob Costas TGregg Everyone involved in "No More" Bart Scott Luke Bryan Rob Johnson Delilah The "don't shoot" Rams People who pronounce foreign words and names with an accent.
  21. The O-line talent might be a lot better than people think. We we're all convinced Wood and Glenn were solid, now they mysteriously start to suck? I don't think so. The coaching wasn't working or the system didn't fit, but we KNOW those guys have talent. And Urbik & Pears were never world beaters, but they were serviceable pros. Plus, we brought in some talented prospects in Henderson, Richardson, & Kouandjio. 2 of the 3 were widely projected as first rounders this time last year and the other (Henderson) was never short on raw talent. Everyone talks about developing QBs, but OL have about the steepest learning curve out there. Now they've got a year under their belts, are likely to get better coaching, and they just might surprise some people.
  22. It's not that he's a lost cause. It's that only a drooling, brain dead, knuckle dragging (*^*&%^$^#goes into a season with a playoff caliber team and only an iffy prospect at QB unless he has no other options. Other options exist. They may not be great or easy to obtain, but there are options. If EJ wants the job he needs to earn it. He's pretty bad with screen passes too. Hopefully he's been practicing.
  23. Smith has been a favorite whipping boy b/c he's a blocking TE and as such doesn't have a lot of stats, and because he takes a few more penalties than he should. His blocking is generally underrated by fans.
  24. I'd like to see what he could do with a guy like Lou Potty blocking for him.
