I'm sure someone who knows more about this than me can answer, but didn't they stop using Mercury in vaccinations 15 years ago? And speaking of our basic freedoms: http://www.theonion.com/articles/i-dont-vaccinate-my-child-because-its-my-right-to,37839/

I agree that it's not the place. I might make a passing reference or a light jab here and there, but if I really want to argue politics I'll do it anonymously with you ass holes. -
Jets expected to release Harvin

He has elite talent. That makes it all the more curious that three teams have dropped him in two years. More specifically, three teams that were already weak at his position. Since he wants to fight all the time I'd like to see him try his hand at MMA. It would suit him better because he won't have to get along with teammates. We could see how tough he really is. -
All Things Incognito (Richie returns, signs contract)

This pop psych crap makes me want to vomit. If this wasn't viewed retrospectively through the lens of Jonathan Martin being broken down none of this would be looked at as such an egregious affront to humanity. If all of these same interactions were observed in real time as they were happening people might say Richie was acting like an !@#$ or being too hard on Martin, but no one (save for those with deep personal sensitivities to the subject, prone to extreme judgments, or limp in the wrist) would discuss the matter in these terms. Yes, Richie Incognito is an obnoxious, emotionally disturbed, super dominant male who probably doesn't understand societal boundaries and pushes normal male interactions to the extreme. That doesn't change the fact that the only reason we're talking about this is because Jonathan Martin is on the opposite extreme of the spectrum, faked it to fit in, and couldn't handle it. It's pretty obvious that no one in that locker room thought Richie was going to "break JMart" until after he had his meltdown. Those of you who feel the need to make this more than it is probably have unresolved issues of your own you need to deal with. -

People all over my Facebook are crying about "Islamophobia" and how horrible it is that these people were killed for "their faith." Has anyone heard anything that supports that because I heard the shooting was over a parking dispute? -
Browns seem done with Johnny Manziel; enters rehab

This thread makes me want a beer. Since I'm not in rehab I think I'll have one. -

That's a scathing indictment of modern TV news media. -

He has not, nor do I think he will. -
The judge's ruling means nothing. You'll have a case when he's convicted of tampering.
-
It would not require an appellate court to overturn it. The appeal goes to a jury where it's heard de novo. The only reason they can even have these GDC bench trials is because the judge's ruling is appealable as a matter of right. The judge's verdict means nothing. He has no conviction for this charge.

Jon Stewart leaving The Daily Show
Rob's House replied to YoloinOhio's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I'd be interested to see Stewart do serious news, but I don't think he's cut out to be an anchor. Anchors are at least in theory supposed to give the news without a whole lot of opinion. Stewart would be wasted in that role. He loves to share his opinion. He'd do better as a liberal version of Bill O'Reilly - which actually isn't too far removed from what he does on Comedy Central. He just won't have the comedy net to save him whenever he gets called out for irresponsible journalism. -
No ****. If he were a train it would be a fine name, but for a QB it just doesn't work.

A chinaman walks into the eye doctor's office and says "doctor, I'm having trouble seeing." The doctor asks "Do you have a cataract?" To which the chinaman replies, "No, I have a Rincoln."

From everything I've read it's just her story, no witnesses were in the room, and she didn't have any bruises. If a man with his size and strength "beat the carp out of her" I imagine there'd be physical evidence of that. And I don't see how him paying her off, if that is in fact what happened, is evidence of his guilt. People pay to make headaches go away all the time regardless of liability.

I think It's bull **** on several fronts. I'm against the league acting as the arbiters of justice to begin with, but that aside, I don't think the league should go about punishing people based on mere accusations. Regardless of why the charges were dropped, the bottom line is there is no legal conviction, so the whole case rests upon the unsubstantiated claims of one person. He's already lost a year of his career due to it (because God forbid the horror of letting him play while the legal system came to a conclusion). And are you asking why a judge might have an agenda in such a case? How do you know?
-
Is that based on this incident or something else? And if it's this incident, what specifically makes you say that?
-
The judge may or may not have had an agenda, but there's a reason why you get an appeal as a matter of right in those courts. The law is more loosely followed in the lower courts.

All Things Incognito (Richie returns, signs contract)
Rob's House replied to RalphOP83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No agenda. I don't even like the guy. I just don't like people being persecuted unfairly. The guy's done enough over his career to rag on him for without resorting to this bogus bullying scandal and the NFL sanctioned and paid for Wells report. -

Teams prefer Sam Bradford over Mariota or Winston

Given the focus on running QBs in college, I wonder how many would be QBs opt for baseball due to a lack of running ability. -
A family from western New York built an addition onto their house for their son and his soon to be bride to live in. The morning after the wedding the father saw his son and asked him where his wife was. "I killed her," the son replied. "Why'd you go and do a thing like that?" His father replied. "Well, we got back to our room, I started to take off her clothes and she told me she was a virgin. I figured if she wasn't good enough for her own family then she wasn't good enough for ours."

An undeniable case of liberal media bias.
Rob's House replied to Rob's House's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Ever notice how anyone who utters the words "liberal media" on TV the scum of the earth? That or it's a positively depicted character saying it mockingly. I just caught it on whatever this garbage show that comes on after the Apprentice with black Hillary as the President. -

What if we call it something other than "bullying"? And if the guy you're "bullying" is playing along and giving it back how are you to know that you're "bullying" the other guy?
