The take away from this Hardy incident is that all you have to do is be accused for most people to decide you're guilty.

Does anyone know the details of his charges? I know it's for DV but I haven't heard any specifics.

All Things Incognito (Richie returns, signs contract)

He made racial and homophobic slurs? BAN HIM! How can I face my friends with a football team that hired a guy who once used racial and homophobic slurs? For shame. -
Speaking of Incognito .... Jonathan Martin update!

This reminds me of when I was a Junior in high school and a senior who was about my size made fun of me until I broke down crying in front of everyone and ran home. Everyone started calling me kitty boy so I beat up a skinny freshman with a limp to show them what's up. #badlikeMichaelJackson -

This is why the courts don't let you introduce evidence of a defendant's prior bad acts as evidence of guilt. But to answer your question, I would say no. Yes, he has a prior history of being a dick, but no, that's not the main reason this picked up traction with the masses. Two buzzwords did that: "bully" and "negger". Once it was called "bullying" millions of kitty boys and den mothers went nuts over it, and once there was audio of him dropping an N-bomb on Martin the racially sensitive crowd jumped in. In short, this has more to do with the average American man trading his testes for a set of ovaries than it does with any logical deductions based on RI's behavior. -

Pay him no mind. His social development was stunted at a young age. -

It bothers me when someone who appears to have inside info and takes the time to share it is insulted for his troubles by petty jerk offs who have nothing of value to add. If you don't want to give him credit that's fine, but how about doing everyone a favor and STFU about it. -

That's uncalled for. What is it about you that makes you resent the OP? -

Don't take it personally, you're just using the word the way it's use is unfortunately evolving. And kitty is the result of board censoring of another word that often proceeds cat. -

I didn't like Incognito prior to that because of other incidents, but that Jonathan Martin thing got blown so far out of proportion that I felt compelled to defend him anyway. -

I'm sorry to go OT, but I really wish people would stop misusing this word. It means uninformed, not intolerant, racist, or lacking character. Why? Is he a big kitty like Jonathan Martin? -

WOW! That's ****ing interesting, man. The timing kind of makes sense too. With a year out of football since he played the bully scandal is old news and he's humbled. Like the fella says, if you're going to get in trouble you better not suck. If you're an elite difference maker teams will put up with a lot. But teams don't take on headaches, even for a guy who's good, unless the return is substantial. Look at TO. He was still better than a lot of WRs in the league when his luck ran out. He just wasn't so much better that teams were willing to put up with his **** anymore. Richie Incognito can almost certainly still play football at a high level. But he's not the difference between 6-10 and 10-6. But now that the media story has gotten cold and Incognito is desperate, the risk may now be low enough that he's worth taking a risk on. But I really didn't see this coming. -
More Workplace Violence

I'm not interested in discussing how I would fix the middle east. If I understand you correctly, you're suggesting that anytime one has a discussion and someone asks a tangential question that others are then obligated to answer. Does that mean I can't criticise the EJ Manuel pick unless I'm willing to also discuss and provide a solution at the QB position going forward? Because those are two different conversations. -

Why would professional athletes using steroids affect a "sane" parent's decision to let their kids play organized amateur sports? -
More Workplace Violence

His question was ****, and the majority of what you wrote is irrelevant to what I was getting at. His question presupposes that Obama just found himself in this situation through no fault of his own and any criticism of how he's handled the situation is to be viewed through that prism. The reality is that Obama's policies have greatly shaped the current situation and it's perfectly reasonable to hold him accountable. His question would be similar to a situation where a GM who took over the Bills took a drastic turn from the current team building philosophy, blew up the roster, got us in salary cap hell, and traded our best picks for the next 2-3 years for a bust QB. Then when people criticize him for not having a QB solution some arrogant jerk off with a stiffie for the GM asks with great condescension if they're just going to criticize him or do they have a better solution. The better solution was not to get to this point in the first place. -
I thought the 9ers were closer, so that is a significant difference. Regardless, I still don't think if you present the scenario to most people in advance, without the benefit of hindsight, that they say going pass in that situation is the height of stupidity. Some may, but most would not; not like this anyway. And if they score on that play (or even throw an incomplete pass) no one's ripping the call like this. If he runs Lynch at the goal line 3 times and gets stuffed all 3 times I think he takes a lot of heat for not giving Wilson a chance to make a play.

Gugny always struck me as an odd name. But not as odd as jboyst. WTF is a jboyst? And what's "DC Tom" supposed to mean anyway?

I've never really understood why it's such a big deal. From what I understand, steroids are not terribly dangerous if used properly. I've actually considered going to see an endocrinologist to get testosterone supplements. It promotes healing and obviously makes for a more productive workout.
