  1. Since when does anyone give a **** what Mehta has to say about anything, much less football? The guy's always had a bit of a screw loose, and given his history of bizarre behavior I'm not sure where he gets off throwing stones. And I don't care what he calls himself, as far as I'm concerned he's still Ron Artest.
  2. It's pretty obvious, actually. People discount his SBs because he had Elway as if Elway was winning SBs left & right beforehand. If someone said Elway doesn't deserve credit for those SBs because he had Shanahan I would naturally point out that such an argument is also illogical bull **** because Shanahan hadn't won SBs w/o Elway.
  3. I'm not a big Shanahan guy, but your take on him is absolute bull ****. He took a Washington team that's dreadfully similar to Buffalo over the course of this century to the playoffs with a rookie QB. And as far as this "back of Elway" bull ****, answer me this: how many SBs did Lord Elway win without Shanahan? No, he's not. Shanahan hasn't done anything in this league since 2012.
  4. When people say New York they mean NYC. No one gives a !@#$ about New York state.
  5. This is a perfect example of misleading statistics. You've managed to be about as misleading as possibly without lying by manipulating stats to fit your agenda. I'm not at big Shanahan guy, and I blame him for breaking Snyder's new toy (RG3) by leaving him in long after he should have been pulled, but to take away his accomplishments is bull ****. You want to lay his SB wins on Elway. Tell me this; how many SBs did Elway win without Shanahan? You compare his career W/L record (a ridiculous metric to judge a HC, I might add) against St. Doug's single season record, which completely ignores the fact that the Redskins were a steaming pile of **** when he took over and by his third year won their division only to fall to a poor record the following season due to the QB he broke. To look at that stint as an abject failure is just plain !@#$ing stupid. I'm sorry to be so blunt, but it's the truth. Again, I'm not a big Shanahan guy, but anyone with a scintilla of objectivity can see, especially given the Bills current situation, that we could do a lot worse.
  6. You make a strong argument. I might add that due to his age, experience, and accomplishments he might be one of the few offensive guys that could come in without Schwartz feeling slighted.
  7. Did he edit the title or is English not your strong suit?
  8. Doug Whaley doesn't care about black people.
  9. If true I'd have to think that hurts Marrone's marketability. Trashing the house and shitting in the sink on your way out is a huge red flag for potential employers.
  10. I'm all for giving EJ a chance, but he would hardly factor in as a top priority for selecting a HC/OC for me.
  11. I'm glad they're keeping Whaley on. I'm not a huge fan of the EJ pick and the Watkins deal, but nobody's perfect. He's still helped steer this team in what appears to be a positive direction and I'd like to give him a little more time to see it through.
  12. Are you Marrone's dad?
  13. I understand, and I think there's a much stronger argument for that point. I'm not currently inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt on that front given the totality of the circumstances, but then there's also a lot we don't know.
  14. So basically, people with a functional grasp of the English language need to grow up. Got it, dude.
  15. I've got a job interview next week and if offered the position I plan to take it and discontinue my current employment. Since I'm not contractually bound (and it is a good business decision) I suppose I don't have to quit my current job to leave.
  16. It would depend on my relationship with my employer, employees, and co-workers as well as how much the job meant to me.
  17. Early this morning when I climbed into bed drunk, looked at the updates on my phone, and saw he had quit the team.
  18. I think of it as an 8-8 season because I don't give any credit to the Bills for the NE win. Beating NE in a straight up game would be huge for me, but winning a meaningless game where they rested Brady for half the game doesn't really count for much. Had the Bills won the Raiders game and lost to NE it'd be a whole different story, but every time playoffs were a realistic option Marrone's team fell short. 8-8 is still a big improvement over the last decade, and I'd have still argued that Marrone deserved to stay, but that gimme win at NE does seem to cast this season in a falsely positive light.
  19. I don't want either one of them. Just pointing out that Shannahan has had success fairly recently.
  20. He won the NFC East three years ago.
  21. So if you quit you didn't really quit as long as it was a good career move that most people would have taken?
  22. I didn't realize Tony Dungy was the GM in Tampa.
  23. Walk me through that one,
  24. If his contract expired I'd say nothing. If he exercised an escape clause I'd say he quit. Whether I'd support his decision is a separate matter.
