  1. They're saying the official botched the call and you're saying the official couldn't have botched the call because the official made the call. It's the most transparently circular arguments I've seen in some time.
  2. Why are you afraid to answer my question?
  3. That's kind of the point.
  4. What's your opinion of the tuck rule call that enabled Brady to reach his first SB?
  5. I didn't see it, but it sounds like yet another example of officiating ruining the game. Luckily it didn't matter here, but in a close game that call could have determined the winner. In today's NFL you either blow the opponent out or the game usually comes down to whoever won the referee's coin toss. And the favorites usually win that toss. And the Bills aren't often favorites.
  6. A black minister's view of the Ferguson fiasco. http://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/thoughts-on-ferguson
  7. Funny how quickly the mainstream media got by a President committing what was arguably the biggest constitutional violation of the last 50 years. Apparently when a Republican President fires a few US attorneys it's front page news for weeks, but when a Democrat President unilaterally enacts an immigration bill by executive order it's old news by the weekend.
  8. The line about incumbents winning despite being in an unpopular legislature is so tired and trite. It's a nice comedy bit for the Tonight Show to amuse the disinterested twits who don't think about these things or know any better, but it's entirely logical and predictable to those of us in the know. <And you're in the know, thus it irritates me that you pretend not to be> Everyone thinks Congress sucks. But conservative/Republican types think it sucks b/c the Dems are !@#$ing things up and liberal Democrats think the Republicans are !@#$ing everything up. And most people are partisan (and most deny that - you ironically have to to retain credibility with anyone not in your corner), and support the same party they supported in the previous election.* * Does not account for the "Obama Effect."
  9. If you control the border you solve the problem. Whether you deport, ignore, enable, or give citizenship to the illegals currently here, the long term problem is solved one the border is secured. The biggest concern then is preventing the vote from undoing that, but if you agree to give immigration preference to those who are relatives of/sponsored by people already here then you win the vote too. But until you control the border it's all moot.
  10. I thought I recognized that name. From Jan 2013: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/155181-darick-rogers-wr-tennessee-tech/page__fromsearch__1
  11. Good answer. I have a daughter so I understand and share this feeling, but unless it were an ongoing thing I don't think it's the right response.
  12. If someone assaulted my mom, sister, etc. I'd want to break his legs, but let's look at the reality. Say your 25 year old daughter is in Janay Rice's situation, and she's staying with the guy regardless of how you feel about it. Do you want her husband to be kept out of a job?
  13. It's rare that anyone goes to prison for hitting someone once unless they've got a long record or cause permanent injury or death. Neither of those is present. A lifetime ban from the NFL for hitting one person one time is grossly disproportionate to consequences for similar actions. Regardless of how you feel, you'd be hard pressed to find people in America who Have lost as much for similar crimes under similar circumstances.
  14. I don't know enough about Jersey's JDR court to speak to that specific program. I doubt you do either, but what's your point? He got the penalty the justice system gave him. In addition to that he's been publicly shamed, suspended, fired, and lost millions of dollars. I'd say he's gotten his. What's interesting to me is why you care so much.
  15. And he's paid the consequences. Turn the page.
  16. One of the better write-ups on all this http://www.theblaze.com/contributions/hey-ferguson-protestors-justice-has-been-done-but-you-never-wanted-justice/
  17. Guess I missed it. I just remember Holder investigating then chastising the local cops.
  18. If they didn't want it they'd have gotten out in front of it. They thrive on this kind of conflict. They just wanted plausible deniability, which they got with Obama's speech to calm the rioters after they already started rioting and not watching him on TV. You really think they didn't want a new story to take the attention off his executive order that even liberals are questioning the constitutionality of?
  19. Not all, but most of my black FB friends, although condemning the vandalism and looting, still buy in to the whole racial narrative and "like" articles like "no justice no peace." Obama and Holder wanted this. It's pretty obvious to anyone who doesn't desperately want to believe otherwise.
  20. The words he said were fine but he was a day late and a dollar short. If he really wanted to have an impact he'd have gotten out in front of it rather than waiting until the riots were inevitably and irreversibly under way to give his obligatory speech. Anyone who thinks Obama & Holder didn't want this is a sucker.
  21. Al doesn't care how many people he hurts or lives he destroys. He should be locked in a cage with a pissed off chimpanzee.
  22. In other words, too hung up on the past to think rationally.
