How is that relevant?

For all of those still pinning over Kiko Alonso
Rob's House replied to Protocal69's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When you're !@#$ing his girl do you ever accidentally call her Doug? -
No. That's the type that files charges for sexual assault if you don't call her back. Just reading her side of the story it sounds like a frivolous claim. Personally, I like slutty girls in tight jeans, but an employer determining that's inappropriate is hardly actionable. And I have doubts about her assertion that the manager threatened to fire her if she made a sexual harassment claim.

I hate to admit it, but Taylor sucks
Rob's House replied to Doug Flutie Band's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No matter how far you bend over backwards to draw an equivalence it's plain for all but the most smitten of EJ fanboys to see that Tyrod has outplayed him by a good margin. Cherrypicking data to compare EJ's highlights to Tyrod's lowlights is not persuasive. The fact is that Tyrod's worst games are nowhere near as bad as EJ's worst and Tyrod's best games blow EJ's out of the water. He's got a better record as a starter despite having an inferior defense, and as much as I hate stay geeks it is worth noting that over 16 games EJ has never thrown 3 TDs in a game - over 9 games Taylor's done it 3 times, and one of those was a 4 TD performance. The comparison's really not close. -

Who do you think should be 2015 NFL MVP?
Rob's House replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As much as I hate to say it I think it's Brady and by a fairly wide margin. The NE offense is more beaten up than any unit I can remember and they still keep getting it done. -
NFL finally holding refs accountable?
Rob's House replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wonder if the league is going to hold itself accountable for the idiotic rule changes and application that created this mess. Refs didn't just instantly start to suck. We're blaming the cashier for the store's policy. -
Cleveland Browns: Worst Drafters of Recent Years

Looking at guys like Little, Mingo, and Gilbert it's reminiscent of Al Davis: Drafting athletes over football players. -
I Hope We Don't Lose Whaley Because Of Rex
Rob's House replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sure, that's possible, but given what we know it's highly improbable. The Pegulas know about as much about football as the average TBD poster. Presumably they kept Whaley because they figured he knew what he was doing and wanted his advice. It seems wildly far fetch to think that two rank amateurs, who are smart enough to know what they don't know, would disregard the advice of the person they looked to for guidance and entrusted with the building of their team. Moreover, I would expect an employee to support his employer publicly, but there are ways to do that without lying. "Rex has had a lot of success in this league, he's coaches great defenses, and we're really excited about what he brings to the table ..." without spewing about finishing each other's sentences and claiming that you personally said he's the one after interviewing him. Again, anything's possible, but you have to jump through a lot of logical hoops to get to your desired conclusion. -

Rob's House replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree to some extent that he should be judged on more than wins and losses just like a QB should be judged on more than TDs and INTs, but W-L record is still the ultimate end. Unless Rex was forced upon Whaley against his will, which does not appear to be the case at all, then the coaches performance is as attributable to the GM as anything. That said, I'm not calling for him to be fired, just pointing out that his legend outshines his accomplishments. I don't see his contributions as discernibly superior to that of Nix. -

Rob's House replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whaley is only responsible for moves that work out. The ones that don't are someone else's fault and he had nothing to do with it even if he himself said unequivocally, multiple times, and in his own words that he had everything to do with it. Whaley fanboy love dies hard. -
I suspect it's less about crummy refs and more about crummy rule implementation from the league. If the league decided they'd rather see on the side of letting players play rather than on the side of flagging unnecessary roughness, PI, etc. then that's what you'd see. At the same time, there is the occasional call (like the phantom PI on Robey in London) where I think about that NBA ref who got caught years ago shaving points and I wonder if there aren't some guys on the take. I don't think there's any league wide conspiracy, but I don't think it would be the craziest thing if we found out that some big sports-betting operations had a couple of refs on the payroll. There's a lot of money in it, and a phantom call at the right time can swing a lot of money one way or the other.

That's the Damn truth. I'm not going to say he sucks, but to read the board you'd think this guy had HOF written all over him. It's funny how all the coaches who have had success in the league are clueless bums and the guy who's never won anything is beyond reproach. -
Now that this season is done, what's left for optimisim?

I'm just glad I spent the day doing Christmas festivities with the wife and kids instead of wasting the afternoon watching this game. -

A fan isn't the same thing as a fanboy. A fan likes and cheers for a team and it's players. A fanboy has an irrational devotion and extreme bias that renders him incapable of objective analysis. For example, a fan may really like a player, want him to be good, see the best in him, but also be able to rationally critique him. A fanboy can't critique him and can't stand for anyone else to either because his fanboy love is too strong. -
If the 'Skins cut RGIII this offseason would you want him?
Rob's House replied to dayman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Shanahan's adapted the offense to a simplified, read option offense to take advantage of his talents and mask his deficiencies. He decided after his rookie year that he wasn't going to play in that system anymore and wanted to play in a more traditional drop back system. He doesn't have the pocket awareness or ability to read the defense to succeed in that role. Like Manuel (or Kaepernick), he may find some success in a one read offense that takes advantage of his running ability, but he lacks the inherent skill set to be an NFL pocket passer. -

Why is Jerome Felton a Buffalo Bill?
Rob's House replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why is this a thread? He's one of the best FBs in football. FBs don't typically see the field as much as other positions, and ~ 25% of the snaps is hardly insignificant. If he were making crazy money I might agree, but at $2.3 mil/yr on a team that wants to run the ball I'm not seeing the problem. -
The Chiefs are a racist team with a mascot that mocks a historically mistreated and perpetually marginalized people. I think it's imperative that we win convincingly, not only to increase our playoff hopes, but also quell their microagressions and check their collective privilege.
