  1. I don't want Cousins because I want to set a playoff drought that will never be matched. That and I hate bringing on proven talent when you can roll the dice on a rookie who might be good. And not having followed his team or career all that closely, I can tell you with great confidence that his consistently elite stats are an aberration, and his team's failure to make the playoffs this year is mostly his fault.
  2. The only way I'd want to see Tyrod starting next year is if he wins the next two games AND his eventual replacement is on the roster. I don't want to repeat the mistake of replacing a flawed but winning QB (Flutie) for a loser who looks good in drills, but I also don't want to make the Kordell Stewart mistake and squander years of opportunity by sticking with a hopelessly limited QB.
  3. I just got an inside tip that if Darnold decides not to enter the draft we're going to try to pick him up in free agency.
  4. I resented him at the time, but with the benefit of hindsight I think he realized he was in a bad situation where he couldn't be successful. It wouldn't surprise me to find out he left because he lost a power struggle. If that's the case it appears he knew what he was doing.
  5. The fact that we almost never have a 300 yd passing game is syptomatic of our inability to come back once we get down. Throwing for 300 yds isn't the goal, but the fact that it never happens, even when we're losing big, is an indication that we can't pass when we need to.
  6. The offense can't play any worse than they did in Buffalo. We're the only team they've faced this year that didn't score a TD.
  7. That would be a tough pill to swallow. Running off your HC to watch him win the SB with his next team is about as Billsy as it gets.
  8. If the Bills can take a big win on Sunday all the negativity will evaporate. The fact that we're going in to week 16 on the cusp of the playoffs and no one's even excited because we just assume a loss to the Pats is a testament to just how Billsy this team has been in this century.
  9. There is a tag and trade scenario with Cousins that could make sense. If Washington puts the transition tag on him, which is roughly $28m (still high but a lot more manageable than $34m) another team could sign him to an offer sheet. Washington could agree to match and trade him.
  10. It's fair to wonder if the Denver game in week 3 had an effect. That's the one where the O-line was alleged to have purposely let him take a beating. Whether that's true or not, he did get hammered in that game and hasn't looked the same since. The previous 2 years he averaged ~ 4000 yds with 30:10 TD:INT. The first two weeks he averaged 8.2 ypa with 5:0 TD:INT. Whatever the case, I think there's more to it than just regression.
  11. My sources said that if we get Cousins it won't be by way of a trade.
  12. I listened to the whole interview and didn't have a problem with anything he said. He talked about Shazier and how concerned he was for him, then they moved on to a different topic. He was asked about being suspended/fined for making hits as a safety and made a good argument, IMO.
  13. I don't remember him playing dirty as a Bill. I just remember him giving up a big play for every one he made. He was easily blocked, often out of position, and missed a lot of tackles. I didn't miss him. Now it appears he's a piece of **** as well. Wouldn't bother me to see him suffer a career ending injury.
  14. This off season looks to have more options for teams needing QBs than any in years. Tyrod's trade value is like the female orgasm. It doesn't exist.
  15. This except 4 4) The Bills go into the 4th with a 17 point lead and find a way to lose.
  16. We're not just talking about the handful of celebrities you see on Access Hollywood. It's also not just about ruining lives. These things seep into the culture and if taken too far make it worse. A little fun flirtation or office romance isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's actually a great thing that makes life fun for men and women as long as people recognize and respect each other's boundaries. Once again the easily offended moral crusading puritans need to take another step towards sucking all the fun out of life. As with everything these days we take a very reasonable position (i.e. people shouldn't be subjected to persistent or overtly inappropriate unwanted sexual advances) and take it beyond all rational thought to a place of absolute insanity. And there are plenty of people who have lost their livelihoods and/or freedom over false allegations of sexual misconduct. But I guess they don't matter because they're not on TV.
  17. The fact that anyone who's ever clumsily tried to get with a girl who wasn't interested is now being lumped in with sexual predators is precisely the problem.
  18. Now you're making a different argument. You're saying based on the evidence in this case specifically you believe these particular women. That's a far removal from your previous statement that accusers should be believed.
  19. Unfortunately it's not that easy. I know of a guy who did 5 years before his accuser recanted. Think of all the wrongful convictions that have been overturned by DNA evidence.
  20. Better to keep your name from ever being tarnished by paying off the accuser before it goes public.
  21. There are many many men sitting in jail right now for crimes they didn't commit. This goes deeper than high-profile celebrity cases. It's very common for couples going through a divorce to make up allegations of abuse to gain leverage. There are many other examples of jilted lovers seeking revenge.
  22. You speak very confidently on a topic you know very little about. People often settle false claims because it is often far less expensive than litigating and they avoid bad press. An accusation alone can be devestating, especially when it's high profile. People don't wait for and weigh the evidence. They make judgments based on their prejudices. And defamation cases are difficult to win because you have the burden of proving a negative, litigation is expensive, and even if you win you may never collect if the respondent doesn't have much in the way of assets.
  23. Shouldn't each case be evaluated on its own merits? How does arbitrarily prejudging the situation by choosing to believe the accusor, which necessarily equates to disbelieving the accused, further the interest of justice? And why are you so quick to dismiss the injustice against the falsely accused?
  24. I'm FB friends with a lot of girls who don't sleep with me but like my posts when I say these things. And I respect women too much to sleep with them.
