It's not something I normally give priority to when watching a QB but his chane of direction skills, especially his ability to accelerate while changing direction, are special. It raises the concern that utilizing those skills increases the risk of winding up on IR, but as long as he's on the field the offense wouldn't be boring.

I'm not high on LamaRG3 just because I'd prefer a traditional pocket passer, but if we got him without having to trade up I wouldn't hate it. The biggest ? is whether he can read NFL defenses and go through his progressions. If not he's just a rich man's Tyrod Taylor, but that might not be such a bad thing. Michael Vick wasn't great and picking apart defenses and he won a lot of games.

Manziel has the talent but not the mindset. If he were to settle down and commit to the game he could have a future, but he's got a long road to prove he's dedicated. Kaepernick is basically an SJW version of Tyrod. If we're going Tyrod I'd rather keep the hard-working likeable version than the self-righteous douche nozzle.

Would the Browns be a trade partner at #4?

What would you guys think about taking Saquon Barkley at that spot? -
What would it (realistically) take to get Alex Smith?

He also lost the 2011 NFC championship game because of a muffed punt by the other Kyle Williams. Otherwise SF wins that game. -

It's actually 67 to 63, but your point is well taken. -

The TD:INT numbers are similar but Smith throws for a lot more passing yards. Over the last 3 years he's had 3465, 3502, and 4042. Over that span Taylor had 3035, 3023, and 2799. They've also been trending in opposite directions. -
Why doesn't the NFL change Defensive PI to 15 yards?
Rob's House replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think something like this would be ideal. Limit the max penalty to 25 yds and inside the 25 make the max half the distance to the goal. 25 yds is a big enough chunk that I doubt it would have a significant affect on the deep ball, and guys will already take a PI to save a sure TD anyway. Maybe add to it that the idea that someone mentioned earlier that inside 2 minutes you also put the time of the play back on the clock. I think the benefits would outweighed the detrimets by a good margin. It just seems like too many game changing plays come about from slight, and often unintentional contact on a pass that may not have been caught anyway. -
Going into this season Keenum had played in fewer games with fewer completions for worse teams than Taylor. Most Bills fans supported Taylor going into this year. If your point is that we wouldn't have been happy with Keenum as our starter going into this year I think that's true. But at this point it appears Keenum has developed into a decent QB.

Daboll's preferred offense and QB.

At least it's nostalgic for the BBMBers. -
At what point do we say Antonio Brown is the GOAT?
Rob's House replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Another guy who had a phenomenal 5 year stretch (and career for that matter) was Marvin Harrison. I don't put him in the GOAT conversation because I don't think he was ever the consensus top WR in the league when he was playing, and he had the benefit of catching Peyton Manning's passes for the bulk of his career, but he put up some gaudy numbers year in, year out. -
Depending on who we bring back I think our depth is pretty good. Mills, Groy, and Henderson are sub-par starters, but they're good back ups. Upgrades at RG and C would be ideal, but are they absolutely necessary?
-
That would be ideal, but I think with a decent QB, another offensive weapon, a speedy linebacker, and a good pass rusher we're as good as anyone.

I keep reading about how bad our O-line is, but how much of that is due to personnel? Going into next season, assuming we don't move anyone, we should have Glenn, Incognito, Wood, Ducasse, Dawkins from left to right. That really doesn't look too bad. I know Duccasse isn't great, but he was serviceable down the stretch. Wood is decent, Incognito's a legit pro-bowler, and Glenn (assuming he's healthy) and Dawkins make for nice bookend tackles. Do we really need significant upgrades or do we just need better coaching and scheming?
