  1. It appears a 6th is the FMV for him and his contract. If he was worth much more it stands to reason that another team would have made a better offer. Apparently they've been shopping him for some time and that's presumably all anyone was willing to offer for him. I'm no cap specialist, but I understand that our cap hit is dramatically less by trading him than cutting him.
  2. The part about him picking it up at UC Berkeley came from an interview with Sean King. And I don't get the latin thing. The rest of your post isn't worthy of a reply.
  3. He's reasonably intelligent but some of the dumbest things I've ever heard have come from the mouths of very intelligent people. His problem is likely not one of intellectual or even moral deficiency, but rather one of simple cognitive bias. He picked this **** up sitting in on lectures at UC Berkeley where intelligent people go to learn to rationalize the absurd. And although he's not a moron, he's no genius either. 1650 is a reasonably good SAT score, but it's nothing special. It would keep the average white guy or asian out of a top school.
  4. Perhaps I'm wrong and he's on the level. His timing just seems rather suspect. I suppose he could be telling the truth when he says Charlottesville was the catalyst, which I can respect for following his heart, but I can't respect his lack of perspective. He saw it as a menace that was spreading that threatened the safety of his children, which is patently absurd. This was a situation where all the biggest nationally known white pride figures went all out to assemble the biggest movement they could and they barely scraped together a thousand people, and half of them were only there to defend the statues. If anything it demonstrates that white supremacists don't have a lot of support in America these days. Statistically speaking his kids have about as good a chance of being killed by a white supremacist as they do of being struck twice by lightening. As far as genuine threats to their physical safety, white supremacy doesn't make the top 100. But that's the reason he gave for bowing out of an obligation he was "all in" on two weeks earlier, yet he says it wasn't an impulsive decision but one he'd contemplated for a while - presumably when he signed the contract. You're correct in that I can't read this man's heart or mind, but I have a tough time reconciling his actions in a way that casts him in a positive light, except possibly as a well meaning schmuck if you consider that a positive. After looking into him though I do respect him far more than Kaepernick. He does seem just as genuine and at least this guy uses his fame and finances to forward his agenda in proper venues instead of hijacking the game to push his politics. My beef with him is probably more of a fan scorned kind of thing, which admittedly makes me kind of a douche in that regard.
  5. I think he saw something getting big and thought he could jump onto it and launch himself into a post-football activist career, it didn't work, and as a result he's suddenly rediscovered his passion for the game
  6. What a loser. I have way more respect for Kaepernick than I do this douche nozzle. At least Kaepernick actually believes in his cause, despite what I may think of it. This faggot just jumped on the bandwagon trying to get some exposure as he saw his career coming to an end. Unfortunately for him no one cared and now he's trying to get one more shot at a paycheck.
  7. You got a hell of a knack for putting things in perspective
  8. We definitely need to raise awareness about racism. I feel like no one even talks about it anymore.
  9. That's fair. I thought it was accurate when I wrote it.
  10. Tomatoe Potahto. If the country oppresses people of color, presumably it is the white people of the country responsible for said oppression, lest we believe the people of color are oppressing themselves.
  11. Is there any other way at all to interpret "America is a racist country that oppresses black and brown people"? A more productive approach would be to cry racism from the rooftops everywhere it may or may not exist. Creating hysteria and divisiveness by constantly crying wolf is the best way to address racial tensions. Or maybe it's not. Maybe it's totally counterproductive. Or maybe racial harmony and equality was never the goal for the people at the top pushing the narrative in the first place. Maybe it's a ploy to get the useful idiots on board for their power grab.
  12. If the shoe were on the foot this would be a major scandal getting wall to wall media coverage.
  13. Why is it the NFL's obligation to further the causes that are important to you? You have money and fame, because of the NFL, which gives you a tremendous platform from which to voice your opinions. What more do we owe you and why?
  14. I agree, but I think that's why Whaley became such a fan favorite. After years of "lunch pail" guys who had "high motors" but not a ton of talent, it was a breath of fresh air to see some world-class ahletes on the roster. He made the moves we would have made on Madden. Unfortunately, it takes more than talent. Apparently you need a good combination of talent, smarts, and character. FWIW, I think the Jauron teams would have done ok with a good QB. Those teams had high-character guys who played hard and kept it close. They just never had a QB that could sustain drives or come through with the game on the line. Of course, some NFL talent on the O-line might have helped too.
  15. I prefer to oppress minorities, but fat feminazis will do in a pinch.
  16. I suddenly feel an overwhelming sense of guilt. All this time I thought he was just a typical notheastern guilty white virtue-signaling kitty boy. I never knew he had to deal with a lifetime of systemic anti-Asian discrimination and oppression. I can only imagine his struggle. It must be tough.
  17. What's your minority status?
  18. It never ceases to amaze me how some fail to see the distinction between conduct related to the game and private conduct.
  19. Heading out to pregame for the show right now.
  20. I'm always curious how we know all this oppression exists. No one seems to have much evidence of it, I've spent my whole life in the south and have never seen it, and most of the oppressed seem not to be aware that they're being oppressed, yet there is this notion that it is not only out there, but pervasive. How do we know it's real?
  21. Are you suggesting that racism toward minorities has gotten worse in the last 20 years?
