  1. I agree, I was just !@#$ing around. I thought the decoy bit was a give away. That and calling him Brendan McBean. I fully support all of this.
  2. Poor Amish Electric Company left D Hopkins and his 48 points on the bench while starting Gurley who's on a bye. At least knowing he'd have lost anyway might take the sting out of it.
  3. It is a good one. I actually didn't think much of it the first time I saw it, but it gets better with subsequent viewings.
  4. Everyone has a right to be offended by whatever they want to. I just think this is a prime example of how silly it's gotten. It reminds me of that scene in Bowfinger where Eddie Murphy is incensed that the number of times the letter k appears in the script is divisible by 3, and thus "kkk" appears several hundred times in the script. Then when the guy says he knows it isn't Shakespeare he sees it as code for shake a spear and accuses him of calling them spear chuckers.
  5. That it needs to be addressed and fixed was another, but the underlying point is there seems to be an automatic inclination to assume the worst even when the evidence of the worst is lacking.
  6. They say the difference between universities in the US and UK is that in the latter they focus on critical thinking by which they try to view a situation through multiple prisms. In the former they focus on how to spot the bigot. I see Harvard falls into that category.
  7. You're making an awful lot of assumptions.
  8. It was a stupid point and your only support for it was incarceration rates by race which is tenuous.
  9. A good coach doesn't get players that fit his scheme, he gets a scheme that fits his players. Sami Watkins is a world class decoy and Dareus is the fastest fat guy in the NFL. If we had them we would probably clinch a playoff appearance this Thursday. Instead it's 2011 and we're in Groundhog day.
  10. This was the biggest factor. Fred Jackson made that team run both in the run and pass game and when he went out there was no one who could fill his role. He was on pace for 2200 yards from scrimmage and was averaging 5.5 ypc.
  11. There's a difference between giving feedback up the ladder and dictating policy.
  12. I don't see it unless he hangs around as a backup for a while. He's still got it now, but he's a speed guy with a lot of miles who's pushing 30 and is on pace for 400 touches this year. RBs, particularly those that rely on elite speed and agility, tend to hit a wall around 30, especially when they've seen a lot of carries. I'd love to see him beat the odds, but I'd be surprised if he's got more than a year left as a top RB.
  13. It's kind of funny how the physically toughest men in the world are such soft pussies emotionally.
  14. Typical OBD apologist. So we won the game. Big deal. The goal is to amass talent. If you'd followed Brendon McBean as long as I have you'd know what I'm talking about. But we'll just "trust the process." This guy gets it.
  15. Anyone calling that a racist comment should shampoo my crotch. I'm guessing you hold his predecessor to a much more relaxed standard.
  16. I don't necessarily think people need to analyze their every sentence to make sure it has upside. Nor should they do so to make sure they don't utter a fairly innocuous statement for fear they might offend the fragile sensibilities of a handful of grievance seeking pussies.
  17. In other news, a bunch of guilty white sanctimonious, social justice douche bags have come out in force to defend their pet victims from perceived micro-aggressions, proving to everyone how kind, caring, and compassionate they are.
  18. Kind of circular reasoning here. You guys call Trump and his supporters racist, therefore whatever they say is racist. And the way we know they're racist is because of what they said. And we know what they said is racist because they said it.
  19. So basically you can't say anything to or about a black guy that could be interpreted as a negative without it being racist?
  20. I'm more concerned with the hyper-sensitive policing of language than I am the language itself. When we have to put words under a microscope to try to find an offensive interpretation we can apply to them we've gotten to the point that the problem is so miniscule that we now have to beg and search for even minor grievances.
  21. I've been following McBean's career for some time and I can tell you, he's a loser. McDermott is a good coach but McBean's a terrible personnel guy. You guys can cheer about 5-2 all you want, but if we had a real GM we'd be 6-0 right now, believe me.
  22. I don't see the big deal. Everyone with any sense knows it just means you don't want the chain of command running in reverse. If I ever have a job where the boss using that phrase even makes my top 50 list of concerns I'll consider myself blessed.
  23. I find it funny how many people righteously decry the problems in the criminal justice system without knowing jack **** about that system. First off, there isn't really a criminal justice system in America. There are thousands of municipalities with individual justice systems operating within 50 states that each have their own systems. Outcomes and practices can differ vastly across jurisdictions within the same state. And yes, there is the federal judiciary, but the overwhelming majority of the cases we're discussing fall outside of that. Secondly, there are plenty of reforms that should be made within most of these systems, some of which could be applied nationwide, but most of the people making all the noise haven't the foggiest idea what those are.
  24. Having an unmotivated, underperforming malcontent, especially when he's the highest paid player on the team, can be detrimental to team chemistry and morale. My guess is they determined his performance on the field did not outweigh the negative effect of his presence. He wasn't exactly killing it out there. This also sends a message that no one is bigger than the team.
