I wonder if at some point in "The Process" there is a time to mortgage some of your future to obtain more of the elite talent the OP speaks of? This could be the year to go all in on a Superbowl run. It will be interesting to see what Beane does this off season.

Time will tell but I think Daboll would have been run out of town if Josh Allen didn't make him look good. Also we may never know but around half way thru the season I do believe he was told we will have a running game with or without you.

I'll still watch but have no investment. Will probably wander off if something catches my attention.

Josh Allen is not an alternate

Not just one result. How many close games did this “no. 1”defense step up to win this year? For a team that is supposedly engineered to beat KC the defense couldn’t get a hand on or contain Mahomes. Neither. Obviously the defense was not up to the challenge in the final seconds when they had multiple chances to shut the door. Why not? We’re they gassed? We’re they not prepared? Do they need better players? We’re they not put in the proper position? I don’t know but I don’t see how the Bills offense could get much better and I don’t see KC getting worse so how does this team improve?

It is clearly time for a change of defensive philosophy. Josh Allen and the offense did all that they could humanly do to win a playoff game and the defense squandered that effort. Multiple times through the regular season the defense could not step up and win a game when needed. Bend but don't break until it breaks just is not getting it done. Time for a change! The offense can't get much better and the Chiefs aren't getting much worse.

At some point during the season someone said we are going to run the ball if it kills us. I took awhile. It wasn’t pretty. But they figured it out. This is what they need to do to get to the next level.
