  1. it would be absolutely shocking for a player to tell many of these stories on the record
  2. I don’t know the salary implications but if putting guys on the list before figuring out the outcome, that should count against their suspension as time served.
  3. to write about the existing culture challenges over the last couple years is an incredibly fair topic. There’s been a lot of strange stuff that has gone not meaningfully addressed, and obviously fans would be curious
  4. yea, as it turns out it was referenced in the article with mixed player feedback sooooo you can make your own decision
  5. “Not absorbed in the way intended” remains incredibly out of touch with how far out in left field McDermott was here. acknowledging the apology would be good, though we clearly can’t assume it was a high quality interaction there either if you are trying to be fair.
  6. meh. I’ve been cool with calling this a top 5-10 team depending on where von lands. Towards the latter end is a challenge as it means wild card in the afc and that’s a crowded house. I do think our talent is above a few teams ahead of us though and the extra couple wins generally tie to McD mistakes this year.
  7. lead up to week 1 would have been an incredibly awful moment for the bills to reckon with at least the 9/11 portion on a national stage
  8. I mean, it’s not like he lauded the holocaust for its effectiveness, just a single day terrorist event for its high level of teamwork. Jokes aside it’s really amazing that he stumbled into such a terrible speech. I get that if you talk enough you are bound to have a dumb take go on the record but this is an elite level disastrous workplace speech
  9. and I’m not in the hes an idiot train- but man dies his resume have some real brain flub moments on it
  10. the payroll will run wild with additional bodies on the field at key moments I don’t think the detail oriented piece is as rock steady as you do
  11. I mean, never center the terrorists as who you want to emulate is a pretty easy lesson to learn and one that should be infinitely avoidable for anyone with an IQ that’s even lukewarm
  12. yea you want your team president to be talking about 9/11 hijackers as a positive example while playing style police with adult men
  13. offense on tape and insufficient adjustments until late in the game when the plan goes out the window?
  14. you do realize that we haven’t just forced guys out - in fact most have left on fine enough and completely normal terms unless something else has happened behind the scenes
  15. yuuup. It’s been a long time since we saw a player say they loved it in his regime and there was that players poll awhile back where his praises were noticeably absent All season I’ve had the feeling he doesn’t trust his team and they don’t trust him
  16. we will wait for the flood of folks defending him. morse unfortunately has an uncomfortable interview coming at some point Daboll was allegedly pretty unhappy when he chose to leave. Is he scorned as a disgruntled ex too? You can’t pretend there aren’t red flags and warning signs that support this potential narrative. I said weeks ago that there was some energy around the team as if players lost faith in him
  17. I absolutely do not carry all of them, so a bold assumption there. And I would be considered amongst the best potential revenue streams. Huge disposable income, lifelong fan… My spend in both time viewing and cash committed over the last 5-7 years has dropped drastically due to the declining experience. Heck, I used to be a season ticket holder for a non-bills franchise, on top of being a rabid consumer of the bills. Monday night football returning to abc due to the hollywood strike made me a MNF consumer again for this year, as another clear example. im also in fewer fantasy leagues because of the discussed issues. last up- I think people liked the event that was a Sunday with everyone playing and then the very special MNF game. Similarly I used to love the Saturday draft and clear a whole day. Now I check in on our picks online. They are diluting the experience for their core consumers to chase folks that may never materially convert.
  18. yup. I think they are forgetting how much of the explosion was fantasy football based and how obnoxious it is to have games with players less than 100% and at weird timings (thurs, Sunday at 8am, etc….) then as you mention- moving into a ton of different platforms to view games. I don’t want to have to carry cable, Amazon, peacock, nfl network, and who knows what else to come to view a single team 17 times
  19. agreed on all fronts. There’s a reason when a guys got a step over the top you are adding a little air and sending it a bit towards the center of the field- giving the receiver room to work with is easier on both him and the qb. and I’ll say the theory about tweaking reads is totally fresh for me. It popped in my head while typing so it’s not totally hashed out for me
  20. oh I’ll 100% agree that it’s possible it’s different in a system - but on a wholistic level I think the inside read is almost always going to be proper. That said, we have seen some basic concepts coached patently incorrect in the offense - so a possibility I hadn’t considered is that Brady had touched up a few reads/techniques out of the gate and perhaps at game speed gabe ran the Dorsey technique and josh threw threw it Brady, for instance. In which case Brady saying it’s his job to ensure they are synced could be more accurate than we realize - and being a little less forthcoming could be him protecting that the on film techniques/reads don’t match the expected ones at this point.
  21. yup, at that point it’s more approaching a hot read. Inside gives all the grass, an easy target and has the receiver looking towards the qb the whole way potentially outside creates an over the outside shoulder catch running away from the qb in a zero blitz you don’t particularly care about the leverage and want the easy pitch and catch
  22. there was no safety inside so gabe going post there would’ve been a breeze too
  23. uniform violations are CBA negotiated flat amounts. Tough hits are much blurrier. Comparing the two fine situations will never leave anyone happy. Same with many conduct issues.
  24. Sometimes and all qbs have those throws other times the window where your guy can make a play is a tough catch on an intentional throw There are a few excellent consistent teams. To win it all you usually need a few moments of “did that seriously just happen” that work for you, as there will also be a few that work against you
