  1. I think the simple +2 calculation has to be viewed through the lens of his lead blockers being 2 third string linebackers and a third string DE on the side the play went to with our third string safety carrying id be curious a better view of who made up the defenders that stuffed the play but I bet it was people that tackle for a living on the chiefs side, and people that are not blockers on the bills side
  2. Base upon?
  3. they see a savvy vet lose a step and suddenly anyone that can’t play outside can slide back to safety
  4. you mean the guy that’s struggling to get time at corner because his coach thinks he lacks zone skills and physicality in the run game? Doesn’t scream safety to me
  5. they want a real outside threat to pair with diggs. It was very clear messaging today.
  6. there’s also the reality that the drop this week was dumb luck not simply being slow and old - and Josh missed him on a huge play a week or two back. something seems up but he easily could’ve had a few more explosive plays
  7. whether or not an injury effected him- every guy gets dinged up and I’d expect a vague “playing through some stuff” type of comment to back the fan base down even if it wasn’t materially impactful
  8. having rewatched the sequence now… even romo nails the issue with the suggestion that Reid would zero blitz because whether it was a TD or incomplete - he’d get the ball back immediately, and the worst outcome for kc there was a simple first down im totally open to the debate of taking a shot before the 2 min, vs grinding after… but McDermott did the worst by taking a shot after
  9. Lots of bans to hand out here
  10. until it’s dawkins out, or Morse, or Josh or cook or…. there will always be holes
  11. if anyone can explain bleeding the clock on the front side of two mins and then going for the end zone inside— I’d be all ears to me it amounts to “let’s ensure only one possession happens after ours.” That’s worst case possible for 0 (as we saw), 3 or 7 (full drives with no pressure from the clock and unlikely to give Josh the ball back) either you finish the drive between 2-3 mins and hope to get the last touch, or you bleed the clock, target the first down out of the warning and let the clock pressure the chiefs while you take shots then they should throw it at 2:20 instead of sitting on the ball
  12. I certainly wasn’t betting on them in the off-season but when Joey b was hurt, and Rodgers got hurt and kc underachieved and jax hit a wall and… there was nothing stopping them from potentially doing it. They should have won yesterday, and they could have won against Baltimore. I think both the lions and 9ers were tougher matchups though.
  13. right - if we are going for 7 points with a couple quick strikes, let’s do it at 2:30 to go, and then between the 2 min warning and timeouts we can get the ball back to end the game if we don’t score or kc returns serve on the next drive. we could’ve had the 2 minute warning to help us after the missed kick if it was end zone, end zone long kick
  14. It was just so odd - either take your shots fast so you can get the ball back for the last possession or keep grinding the clock. The way we did it made it the worst case scenario. We score and kc has time and the ability to leave us without another touch. If we miss we need a perfect 3 and out to get another shot and zero room for error. Finishing that drive between say 60 to 120 seconds on the clock (bar napkin math there)and without kc burning timeouts is the literal worst case scenario for 0, 3 or 7 points scored
  15. I’ll be honest, I didn’t understand burning time down to 2 mins without even lining up to see if we could get an advantageous look- presumably because our goal was yo have the ball last and then come out of the 2 min warning with two fast shots ensuring that KC would have no worries with time and we would almost certainly be screwed if they scored. it seemed very jumbled philosophically.
  16. to be fair, kc could’ve been on high alert for fakes even if that was the reason for this fake
  17. Yea, I think the current state of the union has a better matchup against the ravens but it wouldn’t be a slam dunk.
  18. why can you go for the fake but not with the offense other than worrying about perception?
  19. certainly couldn’t have gone with araiza- he had no experience shanking kicks in the playoffs
  20. we often have inconsistent philosophy like waiting on the two minute warning to burn clock - to a level that we didn’t even line up the offense…. Followed by end zone shots like was the goal there to give kc as close to 2 full minutes to ensure Buffalo wouldn’t have another real possession if kc scored?
  21. a lot of people are seemingly scared to walk away from a nice enough girl that just doesn’t feel like “the one” because their last couple gfs were abusive or cheated so who knows what’s out there to hurt them
  22. yea, 11 wins then 1-1 in the playoffs ain’t it roll in burrow/bengals issues we already missed the easiest window, and we’re still gifted this year. if it hasn’t happened yet, other than dumb luck, I don’t understand why we think McDermott will make it happen in a more challenging year
  23. Special teams decisions -both personnel and the fake- did not work today
  24. Remind me why we are going with the injured punter? something about experience?
  25. I probably have 50 posts calling for the extra OT on obvious runs instead of guys like Lee smith. Tonight feels good.
