2018 is in the Books - what are the initial thoughts?
NoSaint replied to dubs's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don’t recall if my final over/under was 5.5 or 6.5... either way... was about what I expected. Weak line and receivers made it tough to judge whether allen is the guy- roughly again what I expected. mccoy likely about done. Not a shocker, pros: solid defense. Allen didn’t show us he’s not the guy. -
Who Are You Rooting for the Rest of the Way?

Would be a hell of a super bowl story line -
According to Wikipedia: Collins is now the Offensive Coordinator for the Walpole High School varsity football team

Zay Jones: The numbers show that he is a #2.
NoSaint replied to The Bills Blog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its a terrible metric, but ok. at some level soooomeone is going to catch passes. Even a historically bad passing offense is going to complete a few hundred passes. That zay has been healthy and a starter makes it hard not to get 40 catches. Frankly, as a healthy starter he should be much higher -
Buffalo News: PFF Breaks Down Josh Allen's Accuracy "Issue"
NoSaint replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You do understand that PFF is attemptinfto normalize across the league to take things like throwaways and bad receiver play out of the stat line? Obviously impossible to do perfectly but seems meaningful that in all metrics across all types of throws he’s demonstrating similarly low rankings. -
I guess feel free to share one of those

I don't believe in the 3 year plan happening in '19

Flip side- if allen is the dude, hitting that list perfectly become far less essential -
Again people..... This is the first year of a REBUILD
NoSaint replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can’t wait til next year when if something goes wrong we will have posters arguing this was the tear down year and next year is the first year rebuilding -
Edelman was still moving forward. Also, who thinks a still frame is productive for discussing whether guys are moving?
-
As if it couldn’t possibly be him too?

Also fair. Counterpoint - I don’t think there’s a team in the league without soft spots on their defense and I think that last lines a bit cliche, personally. Outside of a great qb, there are plenty of ways to build a contender and that includes cutting corners at nearly any position group as long as you properly scheme and plan for it The best run stopper in a decade of colts football mightve been Peyton Manning as an example of non-conventional ways to control the inside of the trenches. They were able to scheme for shootouts on both sides.

Father Time is finally catching up with Brady
NoSaint replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The assertion that in another year or so he shouldn’t be competing is pretty fair. He’d be 43 during the regular season 2 years from now -
You can have a good D and think an element is overpaid

Suoer smarmy... The offense is advancing the ball, they pushed it into the end zone out of control, and in turn have the responsibility to regain possession- not that crazy. If they do they get the highest prize in the game. If they don’t, the other team successfully defended the goal line. It’s not like any of that is super crazy. Given things like the play immediately stopping as soon as a controlled ball touches the goal line I think this helps balance things out. If you are going to stretch the ball out with reduced risk of fumble (plays dead as soon as it crosses) then I’m ok giving the defense some help and putting the impetus on the offense to recover after reckless play there.

I think it signifies that Allen is an entrenched starter going into next year, and Barkley’s a fine enough backup that gets along with everyone.
-
I’m not anti the move or anything.... just surprised by the reactions. He’s a fine enough backup qb. I just like to leave some room to get even more excited about guys that will hopefully take a snap.
-
By half you mean about 25% at each end of the spectrum?
-
Barkleys is a relatively interchangeable backup qb. If he counts as huge I’m not sure what’s minor

So I put in an offer on a house today

Ha! Sorry? Thought it a reasonable tax discussion. Not like kirbs going to get some crazy bill
