  1. Yea, but when you start regularly doing it...
  2. we saw the comments a lot when they started protecting receivers. it was pretty well laid out and the oddball amounts (28,075) were from the annual escalator in the system. i haven’t kept up close the last few years but to my understanding it’s Pretty standard structure for roughness penalties that fit in the nature of normal play and not gronk elbow drops
  3. Plant, crouch, square up shoulder/forearm and push through the guy it’s the rule, and the violation pairs with a fine pretty standard
  4. He crouched and then threw his shoulder/forearm. If he just bumps/brushes the guy impeding him, it’s no flag. Pull your arm in, etc... and then extend through him and you’ve forcibly hit him.
  5. yup - McDaniels shredded that rosters untouchable core fast. Him moving obj wouldn’t shock me.
  6. It’s been interesting. He’s shown a lot of interest but the execution of that’s been spotty. lost brown to the ravens for a hard line instead of just getting the deal done a year earlier with plans to add a rookie qb that could’ve helped. But spends cap on Coleman who is immediately cut. Interest in a bunch of vet stars but no luck with securing any big names but Benjamin who was a huge flop and should’ve been the one he knew best. i think he wants that guy but also isn’t 100% up to giving what that guy costs in most cases. But not playing today might impact him. If we had pushed more chips in we might’ve snagged the 2 seed and had the Texans coming to buffalo today after a week off for us if we had a strong #1 WR
  7. between our window and the state of the AFC I’m so disappointed we didn’t get 1-2 more guys last year. If we don’t go relatively all in this year it’ll really frustrate me.
  8. I think kamara is on the market i don’t know if he’s the right fit for us with singletary/beasley already and him inching towards big dollars. i wouldn’t complain (I keep saying we can overspend on luxury now) but he wouldn’t be the guy a circle as a target. Probably would go harder towards a perimeter receiver or edge rusher with that trade but not opposed.
  9. it’s a negotiated tiered system in the CBA. I don’t recall first, second offense etc... but outside of egregious hits it tends to just follow that system he was suspended.
  10. just posting “intentions” while acting crazy over the top doesn’t mean anyone believes you are going to act low key and reasonable. And I’m not sure why this dude thought it was his spot to be the white knight for the city. He should probably get some help himself (meant genuinely not as a snide insult).
  11. I would say the content of this message makes a big difference I’d think twice before sending peers anything too controversial
  12. the DE vs DT is nothing new. I think consistently an elite edge rusher is still going to command the premium as they are harder to neutralize but then you hit a run of Dat types for exactly the reason you mention. Plus if you collapse inside a qb can’t step up, and also becomes hard to see receivers etc.... and a 330 lbs guy that’s nimble is harder to find than a 270 lbs guy that can run. DTs shooting up correlates to guards becoming more premium and not just space eaters too.
  13. the tweets aren’t all that worrisome til the guy BUYS A PLANE TICKET TO FLY TO BALTIMORE. that’s definitely crossing a line of committing not just 140 characters but serious time and money to confront someone.
  14. He’s a relatively average paid back. Not even break the bank. Would’ve loved the signing last year paired with a rookie. Would have to look at the class but he’s more high end Kenyan Drake than Melvin Gordon contract wise though. Not sure there’s a good comparable in this years group
  15. still a long way til they actually hit the market. Will see at least a few tags or extensions I would imagine his rookie year counts very little given the injury so this year will be weighted heavily in the evaluation.
  16. and I think at least one or both got investigated the team might see a minor fine. As soon as Jerry posted this it was obvious this would happen. We likely never hear any outcome with it being relatively insignificant
  17. you just sound bitter, limeaid
  18. If it came from NY, it should’ve just come in a normal review of the scoring play. The third party involvement was truly bizarre ignore the idea of tossing it to the ref and imagine throwing a lateral across the field of course it’d be handled the same as an offensive lateral
  19. I was at the game, and won’t say I was a hawk about watching EVERY kneel down but pretty consistently did and sit about 30-40 feet from half of them. Admittedly harder to see the other end. all I watched were knelt or bounced in the end zone. The Vikings returner pretty consistently camped on the goal line and let them fly over his head.
  20. which is a perfectly fine commentary on Watson’s play. im not saying we deserved to win or lose based on anything. Or that he played better or worse based on the outcome. I’m saying based on the throw he made his play execution was concerning. if the Hail Mary to the FB in double coverage ended up a TD I’d be thrilled but still concerned about his decision making, as a hypothetical example of evaluating his play instead of his outcomes.
  21. I wouldn’t say suspicious because all I suspect is they wanted a common sense solution to a clumsy, poorly regulated moment that the rule book is not well designed for. it was improper though.
  22. what should be in the rule book? That tossing the ball is the same as kneeling?
  23. disagree and frankly was making this point live in game. people leaned too heavy on outcome and not process in judging his first half. Up 16 points and no catastrophic outcomes with a couple nice highlights was enough for universal praise but there were several concerning plays he got away with. I’m not too proud to take some luck, as even the great ones get lucky bounces. But in evaluating his first half, yea, people were leaning too heavily on result to evaluate the actual play.
  24. And more importantly that evaluating either only says so much about his HC potential
