  1. But it’s just his opinion!
  2. No you aren’t. You are a dude with a computer giving his opinion. and if you believe something outlandish than disagree people will.
  3. rarely do these incidents happen if even one party is diligently following protocol. That much we agree on. and rarely do we have the whole story so I’m always a little hesitant to push the chips all in on the specific incident. but always interested in the broad strokes debate of things like the societal norms and expectations and how people react. I admittedly err on the side of high expectations for those in positions of authority, and trying to apply common sense to what’s normal behavior... so this is a bit of a honey pot for me.
  4. I did VIP event security for a multi year stretch once upon a time and will say I have never personally or seen a colleague lead with a 2 arm push to a guy pulling out credentials. I on the other hand saw dozens of VIPs not wanting to wear a lanyard with a fat name tag on it (both for privacy and vanity). short of something egregious being off tape- one party behaved very normal (even if a bit outside the rules) and one was very abnormal (despite having much higher training as a professional officer)
  5. there’s blocking and then there’s aggressively shoving while turning around and claiming you were attacked and going on disability for over a year while suing the guy you aggressively shoved. unless something drastic missed video, we don’t always have to hyper analyze every error of both sides when one is so far over the line And yet here we are with people defending him
  6. I don’t think you and I are wondering about it in the same way at all.
  7. Honestly, more power to you. Even if I think it’s dumb, I think you are well within your rights!
  8. I think many would consider at the right price. i think unfortunately no matter how big the slice is, the pie will be too small to start with
  9. Wildly irresponsible sounds wildly dramatic. Also 5 minutes in the d line should look better, with less coordination required
  10. I read 1930-something and 1950-something earlier today
  11. Neither look terribly intimidating. It feels mostly like the spectacle of them being close is the only real interesting part. never know how it goes though, so will prep accordingly just in case
  12. yea the updates seem to be converging. Being here in Nola I feel like a fat kid trying to squeeze through a small gap.
  13. With all this going on, I’d obviously never want to fight cancer, but it’s got to be a particularly worrisome time for a guy getting back to work
  14. ready for the double hurricane hitting the gulf next week. Very on brand for 2020
  15. false positives, uncertainties around immunity and of course the challenges of only being able to buy a ticket with presentation of proof of Covid positivity.
  16. if you control the facilities and transportation it’s at best semantics
  17. touche. Habit. point remains that you’d only be managing half in a single location, potentially.
  18. 4 division winners plus 2 wild card means you can have 2 bubbles of 6 teams. With only 2 games per weekend, and possibly no fans, it’s not crazy to manage with an nfl and college stadium and a couple big box hotels that are sitting empty. NOLA for example has the Hyatt with like 200,000 sq ft of meeting space adjoining the super dome, and could use Tulanes stadium as an extra practice field for instance. I can imagine what you could do in Southern California, or Houston/Dallas being even more extensive.
  19. frankly, location of the field aside, any team in the hunt will have to self bubble even if it’s been a mild season if we win the division and josh Allen misses the playoffs.... it would be a disaster.
  20. Important distinction from his post being that he was talking about spikes in locations tying to dates/locations of protests. Anecdotally it makes sense you would see the data bear that out pretty clearly if these were super spreader events.
  21. To be realistic, so few guys live in these cities year round or play a ton of games in weather... I’m fine seeing diggs play in a dome instead of snow when we need an important play. Sloppy weather is a wildcard and good teams would rather remove wild cards and just beat you.
  22. or the very possible in between option of occasional issues.
  23. key players missing week 2 is a lot less dramatic than a franchise qb missing the super bowl. without large numbers of fans it’s not a huge difference anyway.
  24. and I think you nailed it with prioritization of entertainment over so many other things. I’ll again stress I’m no doctor or qualified to make the decision. My commentary is simply watching the issue play out over and over and needing to either learn a lesson in how we move forward, or how we react after we move forward. A couple weeks of tailgating followed by immediate shut downs seems like both the most likely, and worst course of action, right? until we can figure out good measures and good responses- I agree I’m not sure this is the time to die on the hill of drinking beer and bbq’ing in a parking lot even if it’s fun.
