  1. that’s above average for non-RB 3rd round picks and he still has a couple years cheap
  2. we As a country are never great at statistics, nuance and analysis... but it’s been shockingly bad around this. People just throwing numbers all over the place without an ounce of context.
  3. Ultimately, if you don’t think either is THE GUY but both are acceptable players the one with the rookie deal is far more valuable. Middle of the pack qbs tank in value on deal #2 but are fantastic on a rookie deal. if you think either is a solid boom or bust, that obviously quickly changes the equation.
  4. john, you don’t get to insult anyone after your “the bills receivers are good and kelvin benjamin will ball out in a contract year” stance (yet alone several other hot takes in buffalos extreme favor). I think cam and BB could be an absolute tire fire with personality clashes... but the closest comparable in the league is probably Big Ben, who has been beat to hell and is 7 years older. Cams specific injuries could derail him but in general big guys that take hits and sling the ball around can still succeed. If he flops i think it’ll be a lack of WR and personality and not that he’s too old though.
  5. But everyone’s positive they don’t have it, only other people do. Duh! unfortunately not accurate but I think that’s what quite a few folks think.
  6. He’s also lost two years of his cheap contract though.
  7. no his willingness to try those two plays makes hims really undisciplined. I’d be the first to call that lateral asinine and get shredded if it was a touchdown too. He’s not at lunch in the schoolyard - that he does that still should worry you not excite you. hopefully he learns to play disciplined and actually get the most out of his skill set. We expected growing pains, so I’m not super stressed, but he’s got a good bit to go and not a lot of time before a monster contract is staring us in the face. Yup. I’d say probably 2 years of “best team he will ever have” around him and then his job gets harder when the pay goes up. He should see a bump up and we will see if he can stay at that level.
  8. There’s a pretty good chance kirb knew about it before most of the public as he’s worked in the nba
  9. they change opinions non stop. It’s not like they are held accountable to any stances. josh was thought of to be an erratic passer. He’s a 56% career passer so far and finished last year with an epic melt in the playoffs. until he proves them wrong he is going to carry the reputation. This year should be a solid jump, and then we will see where he settles in after he gets paid and has to shoulder more weight. Unless he becomes a better passer, his longevity as a $40m per year starter will be a question mark.
  10. and to answer the question, what about as a whole?
  11. Which is a major concern for us but maybe not for a quarantined player in a bubble for the next 6 months. that said.... 1) will players do that? 2) the nfl has a high number of huge guys the other leagues don’t. Will a Dareus recover as well as diggs would?
  12. It won’t effect the outcome.
  13. It’s a CBA negotiated penalty. Unless there’s a mitigating reason it’s not reduced just for fun.
  14. Glad to see your definitive take was grounded in solid reasoning
  15. I’m a saints season ticket holder too. I enjoy live games.
  16. not that it matters, and it’s certainly possible, but there are quite a few spots with much higher travel from China. All it takes is 1-2 carriers to cause an issue but if betting, Buffalo would be low on my list
  17. wouldn’t all of those be McD, ultimately? sure on a micro level any single call isn’t but overall strategy and how long of a leash the qb gets are both a reflection on the HC
  18. And neither will be cut after one year, and neither has 3rd year guarantees so that bit, while different is more academic than anything
  19. I thought the same yet here we are a fair argument all around but how many guys are getting physically wrecked and dying very young from football already? they shoulder a lot of risk showing up any day. Will be interesting to see where the line is
  20. He’s done work to shake that label but when you come into the league with a raw reputation and your last game is that Houston one... you’ll catch comments. that said, the articles generally way over the top
  21. Alonso was much better than shepherd. hughes and McCoy both ended up very good. Hughes for longer and at a more premium position. knowing we got Hughes for cheaper that trades a bigger win
  22. He checks a lot of the boxes. It’s tough to change the fundamentals, but if you were going to write a storyline for a guy that could possibly, Josh would pretty much be the prototype for having a chance.
  23. We’ve seen guys do halfway ok with it in years past. Not great but... like Thad Lewis when we had the Ej/kolb debacle.
  24. and yet, many of us walk into work daily
