  1. They do. But in comparing hundred, twenty and ten dollar bills (or loose change) it’s worth noting these are maybe more like 20s or 50s when a lot of folks are thinking 100s
  2. some of you are real silly with these salary cap concerns. Exactly. A pair of top ten picks is a huge gap from what’s likely dealt here. But we naturally jump to if it’d be a good deal in the lens of our last 20 years. I wouldn’t trade an 8 and 11 for him but a 27 and 30 is much more palatable.
  3. hopefully even in the 30s which is also why it takes 2 in many cases. This isn’t Jacksonville trading a probable top ten
  4. yea but LeBron isn’t just a player but a brand. LA is worth more than the taxes lost. the longer he’s here the more clear I think it becomes that the marketing department needs to align with tres and do everything they can to make him a star. Not just fun lil social media posts but lean hard on league partners for impactful features.
  5. If it makes you feel better you don’t know him now either
  6. im sure they have contracts in place with the stadium, convention center, hotels, tv etc.... that would be expensive to get out of this early.
  7. yup. Just cause he’s 350 lbs doesn’t mean it’s suddenly easy to tear a family apart. And plenty of these guys carry all kinds of trauma. it’s not ok to stay in abusive situations that pass that trauma to a new generation but it’s not hard to envision storylines where it could easily happen. If anything seeing a rich nfl player in it should underscore it’s not always being broke or scared of retaliation that makes it hard if you see a loved one going through it. You have to make sure you are connecting to them in the right places to empower change and not just assume the “obvious” will actually get them out.
  8. it’s already not starting normal or on time - at this point it’s just a matter of how abnormal things get before a regular season game cancels. Hopefully we don’t cross that threshold, but not a huge deal if we do ain’t not a player showing up to that game this year. Yup I think it’s clear they all want a season, despite the folks too hung up on every word during the negotiations saying otherwise. built out some flexibility and now just a matter of how far changing guidelines, regulations, and health of teams may force them to bend.
  9. yup. If he still loves it and it’s relatively safe for him- have at it. I’d definitely want a loved one to get about a half dozen independent docs to support that clearance but...
  10. I’m fine with him playing if he’s cleared and wants to. you sure do take a lot of leaps in one post.
  11. it’s not about magic. It’s about grabbing big, fast experienced players. They get the most elite specimens, generally. dude missed at qb but put together some good units otherwise and by trading back they were able to justify some added value in the pick and getting their number 1 qb on the board for the year even if he wasn’t a perfect specimen
  12. a motorcycle helmet isn’t really super practical for daily work wear. I’d venture for a ride it could make sense though.
  13. to be fair, if you cook burgers or cut hair that’s a pretty big deal. We shouldn’t minimize that even a little, even if we agree it’s the right choice. resisting the mask stuff is straight silliness though.
  14. you can drop the freshwater as all are
  15. mixed feedback on both fronts in this southern state (Louisiana). I think you are way overgeneralizing with those statements.
  16. frequently second year qbs are so surrounded by talent that they go backwards after year 3-4
  17. If they get to the point of debating it, it won’t be worth watching anyway
  18. As if they hold any accountability to past takes? low completion Percentage and finished with a disastrous playoff game. He simply hasn’t changed those perceptions. I think he’s better than 26th today. I think it’s a coin flip whether her finishes a second contract in buffalo still though. Not sure if this ranking had any salary component seating it as he enters the next contract window.
  19. without fans present the number of jobs will be drastically lower. And many of those “game” professions have been at home. listen, I don’t think they should get full paychecks to sit out. But if you think that’s a real hardline stance I don’t know that you should get a full paycheck either. It’s a union negotiation- don’t hang on every comment made. And if they don’t play it’ll still all be ok. And yet here you are complaining that Russ isn’t 100% all in for any and all terms dropped in his lap
  20. That’s nice joe. I’m glad to know that about you. If you had 100m already and your wife was pregnant might you feel differently?
  21. one might think that a tour in Iraq and some guys playing a game for our entertainment are different things
  22. Some report tomorrow
  23. dare I ask, why non essential entertainment has you so riled up? seems reasonable they may not take whatever the boss gives them. I wouldn’t want to be in a bubble for 6 months. Beyond that, as players have mentioned, what happens when your starting center gets it? What are the preventative steps before the positive test that keeps the team safe and what are the steps after?
  24. to a safe workplace? No, not shocking. Many of us do.
