  1. Well, ask and you shall receive. He’s going to be in bubble-wrap for the next 4 games at least.
  2. Correct, fans were on his case because he was just sitting on his pile of money:
  3. Let the Jests waste their draft capital and money on Adams. They’re still going to suck 😃
  4. Apparently $7m of the $8.5m was converted to signing bonus earlier this year. So he’s getting the remaining $1.5m over the 18 week regular season at $333k per week. Hence he’s forfeiting that $333k per week for those four weeks.
  5. Vegas wants half of us betting the Bills, the other half betting Houston. That said, I always prefer to bet on Josh 😎
  6. So you didn’t like Bengals @ Chiefs in Week 2, or Ravens @ Cowboys Week 3?
  7. Well this is the week. It’s rare that 100% of this board agrees on something, we’ll see if we are all right that Josh has the better game 😃
  8. Your calculations aren’t taking into account that Henry also ran at all angle from the 30 to the endzone. He ran closer to 71 yards given that he ran at a slight angle, as opposed to 70, which is the equivalent to a 4.74 40 yard dash. Plus, the run was on grass, which potentially has some give or moisture to it. That said, neither Hamlin or Lewis were making up ground on Henry. But, Benford was, given that when Henry crossed the 30, Benford was slightly behind it and closer to the right hash. Hence, Benford ran closer to 74 yards to get to the goalline in those 8.42 seconds at that angle, which puts him around an equivalent of a 4.57 40 yard dash, by my calculations. My guess is that without pads and in a combine setting, all of these guys would put up a better 40-yard dash than running on a grass field with pads on. Between Henry, Hamlin, Lewis & Benford, they all did put up 4.5-4.6 when they ran in their respective combines. Benford seems like maybe he’s got a longer kick than the rest of them, although it seems clear Hamlin and Lewis don’t have that extra kick to catch the 30 year old Henry, but I still wouldn’t discount the burst that Henry has continually shown throughout his career.
  9. It was similar with Kareem Hunt or Ray Rice. The charges were known, but all the sudden a video comes out, and everyone is appalled. Didn’t the charges speak for themselves, without people needing to see the videos?
  10. Here’s the policy, at least as of 2022: https://nflpaweb.blob.core.windows.net/website/Departments/Salary-Cap-Agent-Admin/2022-NFL-Personal-Conduct-Policy.pdf Seems to me it gives the league a lot of discretion, and Rice will face his own suspension once the league gets to his case. Maybe I’m missing something in the policy that would suggest otherwise, though.
  11. Incentives will hit next year’s cap. It’s better for Von, because he only forfeits $333k of base salary this year instead of close to $4m that he otherwise would have forfeited.
  12. So we don’t care that our DBs are slow now and that Josh has lost a step?
  13. Interesting, maybe Von wasn’t necessarily just doing us a favor then by renegotiating his deal.
  14. Oh sorry, you’re right about Rice, no official confirmation on whether he has a torn ACL or not yet. So I guess if he is back this year, it’d be interesting to see if they get to his case by then and how it applies relative to the league policy.
  15. Let’s pretend we still had Diggs and could afford trading for Davante. Would you trade Diggs for Davante straight up?
  16. Zay Jones’ incident happened mid-November last year, and he received his suspension in late August. Von’s was late November, so I’m assuming they take these in chronological order. For Rashee Rice, if he is out for the year w ACL tear, I assume whenever he’s healthy the league will have caught up to reviewing his case too.
  17. If you bring Carter into consideration, don’t forget the Chiefs got a 4th round pick in Jaden Hicks as well. I’m excited about Carter after he flashed on Sunday night, hopefully he can keep it up if given expanded opportunities. Time will tell how the deal ends up working out for both sides. https://www.si.com/nfl/chiefs/gm-report/chiefs-hint-at-desire-to-expand-role-of-rookie-safety-jaden-hicks
  18. So you want better matchups on Sundays, but aren’t happy that Ravens v Bengals are on Sunday?
  19. Another factor not discussed here yet is the field condition. Players are able to run faster on artificial turf versus grass to begin with. And then if the ground is soft and/or wet, that also has the potential to impact everyone’s speed as well. So whatever top speed Henry got up to was likely subdued in some respect, versus if these guys were running on a more pristine surface. That said, if one watches the replay, it does seem that Henry is faster than Hamlin and Lewis, even after those two guys have had the chance to get to their top speed. Benford was gaining on Henry, but got a late jump and had to go across the field. Later in the game on Henry’s 38 yard run, Douglas also chased Henry down. So, my conclusion is that Benford and Douglas are faster than Henry, but doesn’t seem to be the case with Hamlin and Lewis. Whether that means any of these guys are slow depends on what we think about Henry’s speed too, but it’s not like this is the first time he’s ever broken a long run.
  20. Douglas looks faster than Henry here: https://m.youtube.com/shorts/pMkQCC3936s
  21. Wasn’t there a play later in the game too, where Douglas caught Henry before he got into the end zone? Douglas was clearly faster than most around him on the play.
  22. Well, people don’t generally get faster as they get into their late 20s and beyond.
  23. Wow what a pass to Goff for TD We need some trick plays like that 😃
  24. How is Huntley any better than Mike White for Miami?
