  1. I always love the story about how Donahoe almost traded up so that we could get Big Ben, but we ended up with JP Losman instead.
  2. Yep, have to consider the marginal utility of draft capital at different positions. If they love Grant, I get taking him at #30. But if they want a CB too and like someone on that end with a 1st or 2nd round draft grade, they better be ready to trade up in the 2nd round then as well.
  3. This is why we either need to take CB in round 1, or trade up in the 2nd to get our guy at CB (if there’s someone the team has in mind).
  4. Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors
  5. What if the Chiefs employ one to counteract our agent?
  6. Maybe Myles Garrett can lure him to Cleveland? Heard they have something special brewing there.
  7. I mean, if Farmer barely lost the TBD vote at the prior pick, how could he not win this vote?
  8. Or it means we could get three great players instead of a whiff on a trade up.
  9. I like the three picks in the top 60 myself, rather than giving up one to take a swing on someone in the 15-20 range in 1st round. We have needs on the DL and Secondary, and we also could use another young guy in the WR room. If the team REALLY loves someone, I’d trust their judgment in moving up to get the guy. I just think standing pat in the early rounds, they can fill more needs than giving up one of those picks.
  10. I expect more movement up into the 3rd or 4th rounds using our extra draft capital, rather than a big move up in the 1st. But we’ll see!
  11. Only a TRIPLEHEADER? We need more. 8 games spanning the full 24 hours of Christmas.
  12. You owned a Camero, and named her Camera. And it was the first one you owned?
  13. Just saying, seems overly optimistic to say Cook’s going to ball out this season because he’ll be in a contract year. Meanwhile, the four guys that just got paid also going to ball out to their max still too. So, if Cook got paid now, he’s not gonna ball out as much anymore?
  14. Big Baller Beane - By not paying Cook the big bucks yet, allows us the chance to get talent like this. Win now mode.
  15. VPs get 80 weeks of pay, good deal!!
  16. By this same logic though, does that mean the likes of Shakir, Rousseau, Benford and Bernard may all slack off now though?
  17. So the money that Beane just threw Benford’s way, are there free agents on the market you would have thrown it to instead? If so, what do those deals look like (dollars, years, etc.)? If you have a problem with Beane throwing the money the way of a top ten CB that is on the roster, you must surely have better ideas then.
  18. So you want this team “all-in” this season only, at the expense of all future seasons, huh? How long before everyone in the locker room is pissed off and doesn’t give a crap about this season altogether, because they’ve got management that doesn’t give a crap about them? How does that play out for you?
  19. So you think it’s fair for our best CB (and arguably top 10 in the league) to be getting paid less than Dane Jackson or potentially a 1st or 2nd round CB pick in the draft? And you want another hole to fill after this season if we don’t have Benford on contract after this season?
  20. Starring Josh and Hailee? I’m ready for this.
  21. I’d say this corroborates your view. B****** be crazy. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/44388496/chiefs-xavier-worthy-sues-ex-fiancee-alleges-extortion-abuse
  22. Don’t discount the resiliency of the refs too.
  23. Totally agree on the first part of what you said. RBs have the shortest shelf life of all positions, the 2nd contract is their biggest chance to cash in and make enough money to be set for the rest of their lives. Whether it’s Dalvin or whomever giving James advice, it’s still wise advice in my opinion. Management would love it if players just accepted what they wanted to do.
