  1. It's not random, it's planned. Did you know the Lions and Cowboys play EVERY Thanksgiving? (queue the dramatic music)
  2. I'm done giving Ralph Wilson credit for things that happened 40 years ago. I don't give a damn. You know what I care about? The future. You think Cleveland fans cared about what Art Modell did for their city back in the early days of the NFL? Nope. The only thing they cared about was the team leaving.
  3. They aren't going to LA. They're going to Toronto. Ever wonder why Rogers paid such a high pricetag for those Bills games? By moving some Bills games to Toronto, it technically makes Toronto part of the Bills market now. Therefore, when someone from Toronto (Rogers) buys the team, they don't have to pay the 1 billion dollar team relocation fee. The amount of money they are losing on the Bills in Toronto package is a lot cheaper than paying the relocation fee.
  4. Isn't Overdorf a son-in-law or something to Ralph Wilson? That would explain why he can wield the sword without repercussion.
  5. Who cares if Miami finishes above or below us? The only thing that matters is competing with NE.
  6. Trading up for McCargo wasn't as bad as people think. Think about it like this: they for sure would have used their 2nd round pick on him if available, so that pick is gone either way. So the only additional pick they gave up was a 3rd round pick. So we didn't get a chance to draft Ashton Youboty or Trent Edwards. Darn. Plus, look at the 06 draft with regards to DT. After McCargo was picked at #26, 42 picks went by before another DT was picked. The DT talent (as it was ranked on teams boards) dropped off quite a bit after McCargo. He is a prime example of why you don't draft for position. You take the best talent available.
  7. You're right. The Bills always start the best players all the time, regardless of talent level or where they were picked in the draft. Regards, Jabari Greer
  8. I want him to say they'll look at other available free agents to replace Poz. The only obvious thing after the fact is they wanted a real NFL-caliber starting ILB on their team. If they felt so good about their existing ILBs, they would never have went after Poz in the first place. It seems the Bills would either spend $40 mil on their own guy, or just shove it under the mattress. There is no middle ground. I hope they have plans to snatch an ILB who gets cut on Thursday.
  9. It's obvious Buddy is waiting until Thursday to snag some talent that gets cut due to cap issues. 2 serviceable years out of an aging vet will give them enough time to develop the players they drafted, and keep them competitive in the interim.
  10. Here's the question I wished they would have asked Buddy: If you are so happy with the ILBs you already have under contract, why were you willing to spend $40 million to add another one?
  11. Positive. This is the list voted on by the NFL players airing on the NFL network. Not the one from Pro Football Focus.
  12. If they do a list next year, I think Dareus will make the list. 2010 rookies did make the list. Buffalo's own Mike Williams came in at #83.
  13. I don't think he's deserving, but Donte Whitner certainly thinks he is. Or at least he wants to be paid like one. It's the top players in the game today. Today is the year 2011. http://top100.nfl.com/
  14. NFL network is airing a list of the top 100 NFL players today as voted on by the players. The Bills have 0 players on this list. The only other team with 0 players on this list is the Seattle Seahawks, who ironically made the playoffs last year.
  15. Newton is a game changer. That's why they drafted Spiller last year. If the draft is so deep at DT, why draft one @ 3? I think Newton will be the pick. I hope he can learn to read defenses.
  16. I liked Fitz a lot last year too. But think back to that KC game last year. Remember that awful interception he threw before the end of regulation? Manning/Brady/Brees do not throw passes like that. These things happen too often with Ryan Fitzpatrick. You can't teach accuracy. That's why he's not an elite QB. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think the Bills will draft Cam Newton @ 3. I bet they think Newton is a game changer. That's why they drafted Spiller, because he's a threat anytime he touches the ball. If DT is as deep in the draft as they say, why waste your #3 pick on it when you can grab one in rnd 2? Fitz has given the Bills the luxury of letting Newton develop for a year before starting.
  17. name me the Bills players in the last 10 years that looked like busts initially then suddenly became great
  18. They did the same thing the year they drafted Lynch. Which is exactly why I too think Clausen at #9.
  19. They're looking for someone at the #9 pick who can start from day one. Buddy Nix said so himself in the draft luncheon. If Charles Brown cannot start from day one at LT, then he won't be picked at #9 if he's available. This doesn't mean they are definitely picking LT. They have way too many holes to be married to a specific position at #9. They're picking best player available who can start day one at #9. If they pick Clausen at #9 (I hope they do), then plan on Clausen starting on day one.
  20. I like Gailey's talk of "the only way I know how to win is through hard work", versus "it's really hard to win a game in this league". Gailey appears to be backing up his talk. I want to believe it will produce results.
  21. That was 20 years ago. Live in the present. It's a quarterback league. Look at all the playoff teams and you'll see good / great quarterback play. Go ahead and tell me about Sanchez. I'll point to every other team in the playoffs. Let's start by getting the Bills to the playoffs before we start planning the Super Bowl victory party. One step at a time.
  22. I love the dilfer and brad johnson arguments. There are 20+ examples of good/great QB play winning in the playoffs and the superbowl. There are 2 examples against good/great QB play. Don't you think it's easier to just get a good/great QB than trying to get great at EVERY other position on the field and then hoping your QB doesn't make a mistake? It's like trying to make really good money working minimum wage jobs. Can it be done? Yes, but you'll have to work 80 or 90 hours a week to get it done. I'd rather get a better paying job and work 40-50 hours a week and have free time to enjoy with friends/family.
