I think a lot depends on how they replace Edmunds. I hope they don't take a DT in the draft before the 3-4 RD. I still think our current guys can work. DaQuan Jones obviously is a keeper. Settle didn't have a great year but he was very good in Washington so hopefully he can bounce back, Phillips for a reasonable price is a pretty good player. He's getting older so they might have limit his snaps. Brandin Byant is still a young & hasn't been too bad in the few games that he played in. Eli Ankou is still listed on the roster. I think he's played in a few games but I don't know much about him. He's good size but maybe he's just a JAG. If they can sign another DT in free agency at a reasonable price, I'm all for that. Opps---forgot about Oliver. I'm ok with trading Ed for cap reasons but I don't think we'll get more than a 4th which is ok with me to dump salary. Maybe we could trade him for another player. Cue the Carolina pipeline.

Your probably right. They still have Ryan Van Demark OT from Conn who had a lot of pre draft buzz listed on the roster but apparently didn't show much during camp. They also have Alex Anderson from UCLA who was called up for 1 or 2 games (not sure if he actually played) Seems like I've been waiting forever for a PS lineman to develop & make the team.

Those dam Buffalo wings---hard to resist.

Dam straight, why can't all our backups be pro bowl players.
-
Invest wisely Devon it's often a short lifespan for RBs. I wish him well he did a pretty job for us. Hopefully he can get another 2-5 yr contract in the NFL.
-
Hopefully Offensive Lineman & linebacker later in the draft.
-
This has probably been mentioned before, but could Ed play DE or is he too big ? He has quickness and he's listed at 287 lbs ---Basham is listed at 281 lbs.

I think Beane\Bills are looking to the draft for a big RB. If the kid from Texas drops to us I think we take him, we have other needs but I won't pass this guy up
-
Giants is a good landing spot for him---he's not good enough to be on our roster.

Could Beane use his sorcery to get Dalvin Cook?

Well cue the Ezekiel Elliott posts, will be coming soon. -
Well look at the bright side, there is a lot of good free agents out there this year, I'm not sure how much cap space Maimi has but this should cut down on other signings.
-
Yes we did. KC had a solid team for a few years & Hank won a super bowl. I'm surprised too that Otis wasn't in the HOF. When I think about some of these older greats (NFC also) I feel like they are better than many of the so called superstars today. Rules were different back then, a lot more defensive pass coverage & hard nose football.

I've always thought comp picks were BS. If the NFL is going to have it, no team should get more then 2 picks & the higher you finished in the playoffs the lower the pick should be.

Very insightful post. The Bills are up against the cap & have to make some uncomfortable decisions. If you look around the league many teams are in the same boat. It will be important to replace these players with good players.

Lt---Dave Quessenberry LG---Rodger Saffold C---Greg Van Roten RG---Bobby Hart RT---Tommy Doyle All guys already on the roster---Bills don't have to spend a ton of money. Sorry, I couldn't help myself. I do like many of the ideas\thoughts listed in this thread. I didn't offer a serious plan cuz I don't know many of the college prospects---I count oh posters here for that info then I'll check on a player's profile.

Well, good thing he didn't do worse or the Browns would have brought him in for a try out. -

I'm not worried about any of these QB's coming into the AFC east---all we need to do is improve our offensive line & have an above average defense & will be fine. -
Looker--Looker here comes the Cooker. Don't know if you remember that line but this Cook isn't as big & durable as Cookie & he going to need a running mate not just a backup.
-
Well, I've been in the camp that you don't waste a 1st round pick on a running back & we need offensive lineman but the more highlights I see of Bijan Robinson RB I think our offensive would be deadly with him. The Bills have a tradition of excellent running backs & maybe he could our Thurman for Josh.

Interesting interview. At least he was professional enough not to throw Leslie or other people under the bus in comparison to the Cowboys coach who blasted his former OC this week. -
I hope Tommy Doyle & Ike Boettger can contribute next year & then sign 1 good free agent & draft 2 good lineman & maybe we can revamp the line.

They were both great running backs, Joe Pa used Franco more of a blocking back than runner which he was good at. Mitchell reminded me a lot of Tony Dorsett but he never reached his potential in the NFL while Franco of course became a HOF. I'm not sure teams were looking for versatile runners in those days--strong hard nose runners were part of football. I had the pleasure of watching Jim Brown in college & with the Browns. I guess I'm old school cuz I miss that part of football. Also Cookie Gillcrist was one of the best running backs I ever seen but he was a free spirit & I don't think he took care of his body like the modern players.

They both look pretty good but they are high light videos. I think Edmunds is pretty good but with our cap situation I don't think we can afford to resign him, we have too many other needs. Milano is 1-A and Edmunds is 1-B.
